Popped in with Sandi for a brunch Saturday just gone. This little cafe is a gem in the Dodges Ferry/Carlton area. Delicious morsels to eat, and decent coffee to drink, all in a beautiful setting by the sea. Great, personal service. We'll have to try everything on the menu, especially the desserts. On this occasion, we both had pita bread lunches with great fillings. Mine was called a "fire pita", and it certainly was that. Very spicy - just on the limit of my heat tolerance - and packed with flavour. As Molly Meldrum said - Do yourself a favour.

I and many other Dodges Ferry locals love the Mullet Cafe and we are so happy to see this awesome family owned business reopen after renovations and family additions this weekend!! All staff are excellent and friendly hosts. The coffee is perfect. The location is just right -looking at the beautiful ocean vista of park beach in a lovely garden setting or sitting on the semi enclosed verandah or inside the cosy inviting cafe itself.
The Food on offer is innovative with light to medium style lunches with a Lebanese influence such as generous serves of house made dips and Turkish breads. All day breakfasts are great with plenty of extras or substitutes on offer for vegetarians. Love the extras like the fiery harissa with heaps of cumin and mint and the fried banana is unexpected and delicious!
The other brilliant aspect to this business is the added bonus of a fascinating and unique 'Little shop of Curios' which stocks authentic Tibetan masks, small furnishings, gifts, clothes and a highly original book collection available for purchase.
You have to visit this one of a kind cafe whenever in Dodges Ferry.

I love the Mullet. It's 5 minutes walking from my home, I can take my dog (she sits outside the fence) and the coffee is divine. Small but perfectly formed menu, so it caters to my needs very well. My only wish would be that it stays open and maybe increases the days it is open for business. If you are in the Southern beaches area check it out. Open Friday through Sunday.

I loved how the eggs were cooked in olive oil. I saw a man run away with a sausage
