What a great country pub. Service was outstanding with a staff who have the patience of job. They were inundated with crowds from The Outback Music Trail and handled it superbly. Ben's Chicken Races are a highlight and a great fundraiser. Ben himself a great performer & host. The advantage of their courtesy bus is also a great addition to their services. Oh & the food was spot on. You just have to try them there rissoles....jummo. I give them a 10/10 for country hospitality at it's best.

Had an awesome afternoon/evening. Chicken races were so much fun and the dinner after was delicious.Dan is a champion and had us totally entertained. Definitely recommend the Crumbed Steak!

Ben and the chicken races were amazing thanks guys we had so much fun and your meals were dewishous! We will definitely be back to buy another chicken to race ...half goes to charity !

Go for the cook races if nothing else !!!

Look out for the madman that runs the place !!! He will talk you out of all your money ...... it's for a good cause and a lot of fun.

Being very genuine honest and straightforward - $59 is an absolute bargain for what you get , a proper room with a good bed , free good wifi that is solid,good air con, there is available showers , bar/bistro downstairs , I am genuinely amazed at everything you get for only paying $59 and most importantly great staff ! Thanks again

The chicken race was a blast and well worth the stopover to see the excitement and unique event. The guy that runs the race was well practiced and really made the whole event a lot of fun and funny too. Amazing to see how much people are willing to bet on the race. For such a small town the race rally draws in the crowd. We stayed for multiple beers and played pool and had a good night at the pub after. Lots of fun and I would recommend the experience.

The absolute best pub meal we've ever had. Rissoles, chips, salad.$21 each. Drinks very well priced.
The chicken racing at the back is hilarious and Ben the publican is a real comedian. Not to be missed!

Friendliest pub dogs ever, the adorable Sue and Memphis will be sure to welcome you. Broad range of beverages at good prices, delicious food. Highly recommend the rissoles, they melt in your mouth as does the mash. The crumbed steak was great too both around $20 so brilliant value. The chook races are great fun and for a good cause. Ben was welcoming, friendly and a great host. Really good pub experience. Thank you.

My second time here in Tambo staying along the river just out of town, pub has pick-up van approx 4pm,great pub,especially the chicken races at 5pm,really good entertainment, Tambo is a very good country town.

Great craft beer on tap, terrific Country Pub atmosphere and hospitality.
The highlight is Ben's Chicken Racing each evening at 5.00pm. Bid for 1 of 9 "racing chickens" half proceeds to the winner and half to a Children's Charity.
I believe Ben has raised in excess of $35K, wonderful work!

Great feed! Rissoles are to die for. Three huge rissoles a big salad and chips. Staff were super friendly and the pub dogs are the cutest, sweetest boys you’ll ever meet. You need to stop here !

Arrived to set up at the Tambo Caravan Park and greeted by the courtesy bus around 5pm for the chicken races!!! Glad we went - amazing night of entertainment, great people , exceptional food and a ride home when finished. Ben is an amazing publican and this needs to be on your stopover list!!!

So entertaining...go for the daily chicken race it is so well done. Service is great in all areas of this pub. We took a room for night to get out of a tent..$59 fair value for a clean basic room. Shared amenities . Yes It is an old pub but hanging in there so support it. Food excellent too.

Only visited pub, excellent service. Have chicken races every night in aid of outback sick children's charity, highly recommend this it's great entertainment

We were picked up by the mini bus for the chook races , what a great friendly pub with top food and a very funny publican , this is as real as it gets , loved Tambo .

Home of the great chicken race. A fund-raiser in part for RFDS and worthy of support. Host is comical and foods excellent. Best to order meals before the show or they run out. Had a lot of fun.
