The River Cafe

This cafe has really lived up to their claim to the best fish & chips in Tasmania! They are indeed THE BEST fish and chips we have ever had! The fish burger was pretty good too.
I didn’t like the Momo so much though.

Service was great and efficient. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great outdoor seating overlooking the sea.

After a less than friendly customer experience from another nearby establishment, we decided to check out The River Cafe.

Hands down, it was the best decision made. From the moment we walked through the door, the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive.

We were quickly seated, menus were provided, along with colouring in menus and coloured pencils for our two young children.

Our meals were brought out in a timely manner, all of which were fresh, hot, and delicious. And the milkshakes we each had were delivered in "old school" large metal milkshake cups (as a milkshake lover, I felt like I was like milkshake heaven!).

The warmth and hospitality we experienced at The River Cafe was exceptional. I honestly can not sing the staff's praises highly enough - it really was one of the most welcoming establishments we experienced whilst on our holiday in Tasmania. Thank you for making out time in Beauty Bay a memorable one.

Delicious Nepali Momo were a surprise lunch menu item. Lovely cappuccino. Great water view. Friendly owner and staff. Food came without delay. Just a few hundred metres up from the platypus house. We were there around 2pm and there were a couple of free tables available at that time

Great food, great view, and a great team here. Perfect start to the day, and I completely recommend coming here, even if it is just for a coffee and a friendly chat.

The cafe is in a beautiful location near the shore, with outdoor and indoor seating. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and always fresh. We come here often, and each year I bring my mum for her birthday. Thanks to Richard, family and staff for being such great hosts in the past and now thanks to the new owners, in keeping with the quality being very high. I will continue to enjoy a meal here and Beauty Point is a beautiful place.

Excellent food and drinks here, we came for morning tea and then returned for lunch while we visited in the area – it was so good!! Very friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Easy to access toilets. Beautiful cup of tea and a view.

Very nice and helpfull staff and delicious food. Kids friendly, playground very close. As usual they close quite soon (3 pm).

What a gem of a place found purely by driving around and seeing an outdoor seating area of a Cafe.

The Cafe has indoor, under cover outside and a courtyard with umbrella's.
We of course picked out side to be seated and the young waitress was soon bringing us a menu. The meal prices were quite good so we ordered meals with our drinks.
I had the grilled fish of the day, Kingfish and my wife had the battered fish and potatoes.
Had to say it was the best fish and meal I have tasted in a long time. The fish was extremely tasty, the chat potatoes were awesome ( need to keep those on the menu way better than normal chips). To match this was a nice fresh salad.
Soo good we went back 2 days later and just as good.

Always great to visit when in Tasmania. Food and service excellent with some lovely views.

Me and my friends had the small coffee and scones. The almond dirty chai was very lovely. Scones were warm and soft and the jam was great.
Would recommend coming here ahen you’re here in Beauty point.

The River Cafe is a little gem with breathtaking views of the Tamar River. The service was amazing and it is very clear the owners love what they do and is visible with the quality of food offered. I ordered the fish and chips, and can honestly say it was the best dish I’ve ever eaten. I would highly recommend this place to anyone even if seafood is not your cup of tea.

The food is divine. Fresh and cooked to absolute perfection. The scallops are sweet and juicy. The spiced chips are amazing. If I didn't live over 100kms away I'd be there everyday!

Beautiful cafe, great staff, wonderful service. Well worth dropping into for a lovely meal and or coffee and cake.

Happy and friendly service. Scone home baked and coffee nice and strong. It's nice to sit outdoors and dream looking at the river.
