Amazing looking property, loved reading about the history but the main reason for the stop was a small bite to eat on the way through. Wife and I both grabbed a sandwich, would have to be one the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. I went for the club sandwich which was huge and the house made pickles on it are divine. Would recommend people stop here and try the club sandwich!!! They do have many other options but I would definitely order the same thing again. And a great view to top it off. Oh, and the wife says the coffee here is great too.

Glengallan Homestead was a lovely day trip from Brisbane. The Homestead and gardens were terrific with lots of history, it was good seeing parts that aren't restored to get an idea of the architecture and building work involved. The people were friendly and informative. The cafe provided a relaxing atmosphere with a pleasant outlook and freshly made food and coffee. Would highly recommend a visit.

As a child, I always wondered about the big, derelict house standing alone in the countryside. What a pleasure it was to return as an adult and experience the amazing restoration work which has brought this grand old lady back to life. Well worth a visit to learn about the history of this place and the people who lived there.

Absolutely loved it! The historic homestead is fascinating. The staff are just awesome. The food was a bit so-so, just don't expect much. But the location and the whole picture made up for it. Highly recommend.

This review is of the cafe.
We drove over from Toowoomba to experience the cafe here at the Glengallan Homestead - we'd heard nothing but raving reviews.
We weren't disappointed. There are panoramic views from the large windows, with clean neat tables and chairs.
The menu choices are not extensive but what is on offer is absolutely delicious.
Highly recommend this cafe for morning tea and lunches.

Delicious filo and salad for lunch followed by a wander through the old stone house. It’s fabulous to read the boom to bust history of the 1800’s. There is a little history of the previous indigenous peoples but pity we don’t know more. Definitely worth visiting.

This is a beautiful original homestead that has been partially restored by volunteers. There is a lot of history both in and around the homestead as well as in the lovely coffee shop. We enjoyed a yummy high tea celebrating a birthday. Highly recommend.

We started our adventure at the cafe. OMG the best scones, jam and cream ever and good coffee too. As I was shopping for a friend's house we were very excited to find the exact lamp shade and artwork we had envisaged, for her revamped lounge room. What good luck!!

First I nearly went past this treasure, not because of the signage but because I was time poor. I decided to go and the decision provided to be a great one. The staff were absolutely amazing, friendly, efficient and they allowed me to bring my dog in (on leash). The staff let me know they hat cats around so watch the dog. The food was absolutely beautiful, the amenities were clean and the treasure trove of information there was fantastic! If you are considering visiting, don't hesitate, it's worth the visit and the prices were great, food was belly topping!

We loved our visit to Glengallan Homestead. Very interesting reading about the local history of days gone by and journeying back in time wandering through the homestead with it’s beautifully restored rooms. The cafe was a air conditioned and the service friendly and attentive. Highly recommend a day out to coincide with morning or afternoon tea to try the homemade scones.

Great piece of Australian Southern Downs History.
Walk inside and there’s an instant silence and chill in the rooms compared to the warmth of the hallway! At one point we heard the piano softly sound from the other room! There’s a fee to explore but it’s worth it to help keep the homestead in condition. Great to visit on the way back from Warwick.

Had an amazingly good experience at Glengallan.
This place has a very interesting story.
So much history to learn about and to see.
Excellent conservation and restoration of the old homestead with knowledgeable staff willing to explain in more depth.
Also, the High Tea brunch is absolutely yummy.

An interesting and informative look into the past. It had me asking a lot of questions. This is an honest and genuine place to visit. Don't expect to see a place done up like a museum; inside it is a true reflection of the neglect that it has suffered. Congratulations to the volunteers for a wonderful job in restoring this once majestic home.
The food at the Cafe is absolutely delicious and is home cooking at its best. Staff are friendly and only too happy to please.

Coffee shop staff were great and helpful.
It is challenging that the sparkle that the centre had has tarnished a little due to the overhang of lost business because of past COVID restrictions and other factors.
Of course it needs more volunteers and administration that understands the need for repeat visitors.
But all in all well worth the visit.
❓Perhaps if one is coming back for a visit to the heritage building each subsequent visit could have a reducing entry price. Consideration for a pensioner discount would help ( like entry and a Glengallan cuppa 😀)

An absolutely stunning history lesson and tribute to the early pioneers in the Darling Downs region. Glengallan Homestead has an incredible story to tell, from good times to bad, prosper to ruin. She now stands as a testament to those who originally made the region home. From the period furnishings and remaining artefacts to the well kept grounds and the tennis court, Glengallan offers an opportunity to place yourself in periods of times long past, and share in the history of the region and the families that called the area home. The staff are warm and welcoming and you cannot go past a Devonshire Tea, complete with freshly baked onsite scones. This was our third visit, with previous stops being during Sunday markets and other historical events. Definitely worth the stop.

Visited Glengallen Homestead and gardens on our way to Warwick and ended up spending a few hours there. Only $10 each to visit the homestead and gardens is well worth it. We spent an hour or so looking around outside and inside the homestead. Then we visited the cafe on-site which is also a great souvenir shop . What a great choice with much of the food homemade and cooked fresh each day. We had bacon, zucchini and haloumi fritters with tomato relish to start with and they were so flavoursome and delicious. Then finished with scones, raspberry jam -home made- and cream. They were still warm when we got them and so yummy. Definitely recommend a visit here and an added bonus, you can visit the sunflowers growing less than 5 minutes away.
