Beautiful spot right in town. Not sure if showers are always cold, but they are spotless as are the toilets. Beautiful town and super friendly people. Would highly recommend you visit and spend a few dollars to support all small towns such as Wandai. The Heritage Museum is excellent, a must do.

The First Settlers campground in Benarkin is a great free camp. The camp is nestled in the tiny quiet town of Benarkin. The area is quite large and can accommodate several motorhomes, tents and RVs. The ground is quite grassy and well maintained by council. The park has a toilet block with 2 unisex toilets, one with a baby change area. 2 shower rooms are also provided unfortunately is presently locked by council. There is also one smaller toilet across the new toilets disguised as a wooden shack. Toilets are all clean and well stocked with toilet paper although no soap. Bins are provided near the toilet blocks and in the camp grounds. There are several covered wooden seating areas in the vicinity that extends to the park and caters to a children's playground. The covered playground has swings, slides and climbing fort on wood chips. Next to it is a brick domed oven BBQ. Behind that is a covered wooden seating area and the backside of the 2x coin operated electricity plug and the camp also offers paid potable water. There are several historic pieces/statues in the camp and information regarding Benarkins rich history. The famous Brisbane Valley trail also passes by Benarkin and the trail can be sent behind the toilet block. Generator allowed.

Great easy access, toilet, shower ample room , beautiful little town,very quiet and peaceful place to stay, sometimes a lot of bird life afternoon and morning, with many varieties,black cockatoo especially,local store with real hamburgers, hehe and fuel also

Great free camp, council doing lot of work building children's playground BBQ and shelters. It is on the Brisbane Valley rail trail at Benarkin.

Nice to stop by the patk
