Gorgeous water fall to visit.
Keep in mind the walk down is a mud slide and the rocks getting across to the fall is an uncomfortable bare foot experience, (does have railing to hold onto).
Bring enclosed shoes 100% and a backpack not shoulder bag.
Safe for kids (saw kids of all ages gripping onto the railing tight).
No established seating areas but the rocks/ dirt.
Disabled parking is available at bottom near public toilets before walk down.
100% recommend

Beautiful spot. Easy walk to the viewing platform but a bit more challenging to get to the bottom. The water is refreshing. Not much parking though and certainly not notirhome or bus friendly.

My experience at Killen Falls near Lennox Head was truly delightful, and I would happily give it a positive 5/5 rating. The falls, tucked away in a scenic natural setting, provide a captivating display of nature's beauty. The cascading water creates a soothing ambiance, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and rejuvenation.

One of the unique aspects of Killen Falls is its reputation as a habitat for platypus. While spotting these elusive creatures in the wild can be challenging, the mere possibility of encountering them adds an exciting element to the visit. The falls' serene surroundings and lush greenery create an ideal environment for wildlife, contributing to the overall charm of the location.

The falls themselves are a visual treat, with water gracefully flowing over the rocks, creating a picturesque scene. The accessibility to the base of the falls allows visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and feel the refreshing mist on their faces. It's a wonderful spot for nature enthusiasts, photographers, or anyone seeking a peaceful escape.

Additionally, the presence of a swimming hole near the falls adds another layer of enjoyment to the visit. The crystal-clear water invites visitors to take a refreshing dip, making it a popular spot for those looking to cool off on a warm day. The combination of the falls and the swimming hole makes Killen Falls a versatile destination that caters to various preferences.

In conclusion, Killen Falls near Lennox Head is a gem that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, potential wildlife encounters, and a refreshing swimming spot. The falls provide a serene and picturesque escape, making it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the natural wonders of the region. I highly recommend experiencing the tranquil magic of Killen Falls.

Beautiful waterfall and rock formation. Bit of a goat track down to Falls. Lovely to see so many people having a swim here.

Killen Falls: Where nature's tears cascade into a tranquil oasis.
A must-include in your Byron itinerary. It's just a short, steep descent walk to the falls. The path can be rocky, so exercise caution. There is a sign stating that swimming is not permitted due to potentially harmful water conditions, but we've seen a few people enjoying a swim.

As far as waterfalls go this one is right up there. Pleasurable walk down (only steep for a short section), lots of space and excellent waterfall to swim up to and enjoy. As for all waterfalls, it is best after a period of rain.

Short 20min drive from Byron Bay. Easy to get to, and worth a quick look for the waterfall and hike. Bring comfortable shoes for a hike or some swimmers. Sometimes it’s not advisable to swim as there may be algae in the stagnant water.

Bit of a rainy day so the way down was a little tricky but there were few other people and the waterfall was magnificent!

Killen falls is beautiful. It’s fairly easily accessible, it’s about 600 meters to the viewing platform (return) and about 1km to the base (return). The last few hundred meters is rocky and steep downhill but nothing too difficult. I’m a pretty big guy and I did it comfortably (wearing thongs) it’s definitely worth going to the base, great views and we even saw some fish swimming around

I recently visited Killen Falls and was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the waterfall. The hike to get there was moderate in difficulty, but completely worth it for the stunning views. The waterfall itself is a spectacular sight, and the swimming hole at the base of the falls was a great place to cool off on a hot day. I highly recommend visiting Killen Falls to anyone looking for a beautiful outdoor experience.

We werent expecting much going into Killen Falls, but we were pleasantly surprised. It's a small area - carpark is very small and was full when we arrived at 9 in the morning, the walk to the viewing platform was very short - but you would be disappointed if that was all you saw of it.

The walk down to the Falls is much, much more worthwhile. It is a little rocky and tricky getting down the steps - I did it in my thongs with a baby kn my back, but may be too hard or dangerous for anyone that is a bit older and lacking agility.

Once down the walk to the waterfall is a bit tricky too, but it's a beautiful site when you get there. A lush pool of water, the falls, and you can get right next to them or behind them.

A beautiful little spot, great fun for kids climbing over the rocks and splashing in the water too.

Beautiful swimming hole with a great waterfall feeding it. The upper viewing platform is a easy walk but if you want to go to the swimming hole DEFINITELY TRY to wear shoes cause you pop a plug over the rocks and mud walking down and along the rocks.

We visited after rain and the falls were really going.
For people with mobility issues the walk to the viewing platform is 330m. The path is smooth with steps at half the usual depth spread well apart. Not wheelchair accessible. Toilets at the start of the walk. There is car parking right near the start of the walk.

Beautiful little falls. Nice track down, worth going to the bottom. Only 1km return. Go for a spontaneous dip - makes you feel alive in the winter. And walk behind the falls too. Public toilets here alsooo 😁

Worth the walk down to the bottom. Railing to hold, be careful of the rocks along the track that can be slippery.
For the less adventurous or less able their is a viewing platform half way along the path.

Did this walk on my own and loved it! Walk was wet and a bit slippery when I went and some areas are a bit steep for anyone with trouble walking. I found it to be a lovely walk and the falls were beautiful. But tricky to get too, lots of logs and rocks to hop over. Also was able to walk around the back of the falls. So beautiful! I'd love to visit again.

Beautiful walk to waterfalls!! You can walk under the waterfall if it's not too slippery on the rocks!! And there is a swimming hole!! Great day for a picnic

Well, what can I say...lol be prepared for a longish, arduous, bush walk to get down to them (AND UP AGAIN) ! Have sensible walking shoes! Take plenty of water!
Do not (as I seen several do) think you'll pack a picnic as there really isn't anywhere to sit..
BUT! once you do get to them, they are gorgeous! There were people swimming bit mostly younger people.
Overall a great experience, we (55yr & 62yr females were thrilled that we managed to make it back to the top! Loved it! 😊

Well worn pathway. Handrails and fired cations are easy to follow. It's a short gentle slope walk down to the falls lookout with plenty of flora to see on the way.

Bring good walking shoes to get to the falls! Visit after it has rained so the waterfall is more spectacular.

It's not a long walk to the base of the falls, but it is not that well paved (it is kinda paved to the lookout).
