Thai Basil Restaurant

I have lived in the area for over 25yrs and never thought of this place, Friday night and I wanted Chinese, I called China tea house and it was an hour wait for takeaway - forget that so then I thought Thai! Googled Erindale and Thai basil came up OH WHAT A TREAT very friendly on the phone said 20-25min wait for takeaway I wanted to pick up annd I ordered 2 dishes and rice IT WAS SUPERB! Mouth watering in fact, the parking is the only problem on a Friday night at 7.30 I had to double park and run in, it wasn’t ready so the kind lady behind the Counter said she would bring it out to me and she did, Got it home, had time to feed the dog and get changed and it was still piping hot! brought back so many memories of being in Thailand, I ordered satay beef (delish) a chicken dish I can’t spell but had 2x chili symbol (was very flavoursome and not overpowering) and I loved the rice I got which had chicken in it so much better than jasmine rice, I highly recommend this place I will DEFINATELY BE BACK thankyou again

Have been dining in regularly with family and friends - at least 8-9 times a year since 2005 and have never had a bad meal here.
Food is always fresh and flavoursome, and moderately priced, decor is bright and modern, BYO alcohol is really good with a liquor store with a good wine and beer selection located less than 20 meters away.
Staff are always friendly and service and wait time for meals is fast.

I got take away from Thai Basil on Friday night with my Mum and it was so delicious. I moved away from Canberra a few years ago and really miss the Pad Thai from here so ordered it. It was just as I remembered as was the chilli chicken and basil. Absolutely delicious! Service was fantastic as well. Thank you so much!

The food is always lovely at Thai Basil in Erindale, the serving sizes are good and the service is always superb. Thai Basil is well worth a visit.

Currently writing this review whilst eating my take away order, I couldn’t wait to finish eating to write this review.

I have eaten a lot of pad Thai in my life and the pad Thai (I get prawn) at Thai Basil is unmatched! They’re super generous with their meat and sauce but no ingredient over powers another ingredient. I also highly recommend the Vegetable spring rolls.
I have never had a better pad Thai and will never order Thai food anywhere else, just last week I ordered from another Thai restaurant and was super disappointed.

10/10 always no matter who is in the kitchen.
Price is also super affordable especially for the high quality of food you’re getting.

The staff are always such a pleasure to deal with and are super attentive.

The Best Thai restaurant Ever! There cripy pork served on a hot plate is the Best dish there!

Ordered to be delivered. Perfect! Food arrived on time and everything was still piping hot. Every meal was above my expectations. It was for a birthday dinner and we sure did have a delicious feast. I will be back. Thanks again Thai Basil 😊

Great restaurant, good prices, friendly staff. We made a very last minute booking (15mins notice) for 14 people and they were very accommodating.

Ordered delivery through Menulog and 5 minutes after placing my order Thai Basil called me to warn me that they are busy and the order will probably take a bit longer than expected and they asked me if this was ok. The best Tom Yum soup and papaya salad, I can eat tons of stick rice with them. Taste and portion are perfect and not even pricey. Can’t ask for more, strongly recommend!!

Excellent Thai. One of our dishes I had was Gaeng Ped Bhed Yang and it was amazing! The coconut rice was delicious too. I've tried other Thai places in the Tuggeranong region but this place is the best

Food arrived on time and as ordered. Vegetables were lovely and fresh and meat was tender. The restaurant even phoned to check on one of the dishes as I had forgotten to specify which meat when I ordered online.

Had a very nice, relaxing meal. It was quiet and the two young ladies behind the counter offered to take our 5 month daughter so we could enjoy our food with free hands. Great food, great service. We will be back.

Had a great time although the waitress may he advised to not roll her eyes back and tutt when asked for a few takeaway containers.. Oh and maybe a bit more communication, like if someone buys a drink and pays at the counter even in a group. That should be noted, and communicated to other employees looking after that table.

Very tasty food , i had the tom kha gai soup ,pad see ew and fried rice,. My only critic is the rice was a little risotto like texture and meals were a little sweet , but still worth 5 stars because it was very flavoursome and fresh.

Beautiful food. Very authentic. Lovely staff and nice quiet, clean restaurant. Will definitely be back!! Do yourself a favour!
