The Farmhouse

Oh the serenity! Of course there's the farm animals, the chookens providing breakfast, but also; ibises on the dam; ducks and duckling on the dam; blue wrens at the water feature; rabbits gamboling outside the windows; magpies et al; and kangaroos in the back paddock. Set in the middle of a farming area with native trees lining the road.
There were 7 of us and we never in each other's way. Space inside and out to spread out or congregate.
Everything to provide for self catering and with a bit of planning and consulting with Sylvia a gourmet stay is more than possible. The other facilities were comprehensive but we didn't have tine to utilize them all.
Sylvia is a warm host and will respectfully tell you what is possible and what is not, a host deserving respect in return.
My guests were from NZ and were delighted with the stay. I was proud to share with them the farmhouse, it is an outstanding representation of the local area.

Wonderfully quiet country retreat.
The quality of the house, yoga room, pool, etc. were all excellent.
We stayed with 3 families and had plenty of room.
The dry sauna was a lovely bonus. We even dipped in the pool, which in mid-April was quite chilly!
The garden has unfortunately been a little neglected.
There are lots of little nooks to get away from others, like the cubby, the pond courtyard, the fire pit, the pool and pool room. The kids really enjoyed playing in the yoga room and having a space away from the adults to make noise. They also spent hours at the billard table.
It was the perfect space for our family get away. Thanks so much to the super friendly host.

Lovely place to stay, very kind host and comfy rooms. Short car trip to the nearby train station so is a fine place for a large group visiting Melbourne or Ballarat.

I ran my first yoga retreat at The Farmhouse in Gordon. The communication with the host was excellent from start to finish. The property is beautiful and well-appointed with lots of thoughtful touches. The pool, sauna and massages from Sylvia were very popular! We will definitely be back

Nice stay, we had fun! This farmhouse is a break from a citylife without travelling too far from metro Melbourne, the owner is sooo nice and accommodating, amenities like pool, dry sauna, and yoga hall are neat and tidy. You can also avail the owner's service of feeding the farm animals and massage sessions. A relaxing experience. Can accommodate multiple families or groups
