Couldn't have had a better experience at this hospital with the birth of our son just over a year ago. I can't believe I forgot to leave a nice review. The nurses, midwives and drs were all amazing. Our delivery room overlooked the park. We felt very safe and cared for there. Thanks to all the amazing staff.

Went here for a mild medical procedure and the care was of utmost excellence. The staff went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable as it possibly can be. (Yes I am making a review on a hospital, what I am saying needed to be said)

Short wait for my son's opthalmologist appointment had eye drops administered then while waiting for them to take effect we went and got coffee and hot chips then my son (8yo) went to the starlight room and he got to play a car game on the PlayStation 5, went back to the opthalmologist and had his eyes examined. All up he enjoyed this experience.

I've had to take my boy here many times over the last 7 years and have been helped out each time according to his level of need.
Considering it's a free public service ( paid by our tax $ ) and the emergency department runs on a needs based system, it's a bit hard to understand how some people carry on about waiting hours for something basic, when if you had seen how good they are with normal people who's womens and kids really need emergency treatment and life threatening problems they might have a more realistic view.
Lucky for them they don't have that experience.
Keep doing a good job and thanks for helping my family.

We went with our 3-year-old boy for an emergency, he did not breathe well and was attended to immediately, The nurses and doctor had lovely attitudes, and our son's treatment was monitored all the time. In addition, clean place, with adorable decorations. Thanks for your services.

Thank you to the amazing team in ER & on the Kate Hill Ward. We are so grateful to the care given to our son & us after he fractured his femur on Friday.
The staff were so kind and supportive throughout the whole process.
Couldn’t have wished for a better team looking after us.

Took my son to the emergency department yesterday (Sunday 29th Oct 2023). Was in and out within an hour and the nurses were fantastic with my son while they fixed him up.

Just had a surgical procedure done here at WCH. Dr. Hillen ( gynecologist) the anaesthetist ( forget his name), his team were very professional and explained things so efficiently before the procedure. Nurses Rebecca, Renée, Marty and Binu were wonderful. A special shout-out to Marty who took good care of me and to Binu who was extremely helpful. Thank you Binu and Marty for being so understanding , gentle and kind !
Highly recommend this hospital!!

Went through the Pediatric Emergency Department yesterday and got taken into the Extended Emergency Care Unit after waiting for around 50ish minutes (?). My stay overall was great - the nurses and doctors were very kind and accommodating to my needs, and kept a close eye on me. Would like to give a special shoutout to Josh (one of the nurses who took care of me) and thank him for fixing up my IV and spending some time with me! He was such a bottle of sunshine and an ABSOLUTE joy to conversate with. I truly wish him and his wife nothing but the best, and hope he is taking care of himself. Thank you Josh for making my experience so much more comfortable! :)

I recently had the opportunity to visit the women and children's hospital and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with the level of care and attention that was provided. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly and professional staff who were eager to assist me and make me feel comfortable. The facilities were clean, modern, and well-maintained, and I could tell that a lot of thought had gone into creating a welcoming and nurturing environment for patients and their families. The rooms were spacious and well-equipped, providing a comfortable and safe space for women and children to receive treatment and care. The medical staff was knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated, taking the time to answer my questions and address my concerns. I felt confident in their ability to provide the best possible care for their patients.Overall, I was extremely impressed with my experience at this women and children's hospital. The combination of cutting-edge facilities, knowledgeable and compassionate staff, and a commitment to patient-centered care make it an excellent choice for anyone in need of medical services for themselves or their loved ones. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone in search of quality and compassionate care.

My daughter went to the emergency department at 4pm on the 13th of March after seeing a GP.
From the moment she was seen in the ED & for the next 8 nights she stayed in the short stay ward we were extremely impressed by the amazing care she received.
The nursing staff were exceptional as was the play therapist Eileen who made her & my days so much brighter (considering how sick she was & the fact we were both staying in the hospital).
The doctors & specialists were incredibly thorough. When she was declared non infectious we would wonder the floors in the evening when no one was about & enjoy. the art exhibitions that were on offer in the walkways.
Yes it is old & yes it has to be replaced, as much for the staffs sake as for the patients. But it is a hospital & not a resort. In this respect I feel more sorry for the staff who have to deal with an older building & its problems.
We also need much better parking for the staff & the families.
Most importantly we need all people to behave better. The staff at the hospital are just trying to do their jobs, when people misbehave it can have a catastrophic effect in these circumstances, not to mention time taken from actually caring for the patients. Imagine if they didn’t need to hire all of the security guards & that money could pay for more nurses & doctors!
We witnessed ourselves in the emergency department why they need that much security.
We too often hear all of the negatives in our hospital systems including the women’s & children’s but it is so very important to also focus on the many more positive ones.
Thank you :)

Recently had my baby at W&C. And i must say i was blown away with the support and services offered to mums and families. The food was great too, the dr's were lovely. Midwives and nurses are the best, so helpful and so understanding of your needs. Physio is offered as a service after you give birth, highly recommend taking this up. Thank you so much W&C staff, you rock.

I had to come in to the WCH on the 29th of December with my son Rupert who tripped and fell and hit his head, eye and split his eyelid / eyebrow and it needed to be glued. Everyone was great from the front desk to the RN, Nurse Prac and Consultant. All up we were there for 5 or 6 hours but that’s to be expected with the current hospital resources and number of patients and the severity of my son’s injury compared to others. 5 or 6 hours isn’t great but can’t be improved unless there was a bigger department with more doctors and nurses. Thanks for your help and Rupert is healing well.

I gave birth here, at 5 weeks old we were in for a week, at 20 months old we were in again.
I will never forget the name Sarah Kirk, I believe her title is midwife? She was supporting me during my labour. I have a few mental challenges that are usually managed, but labour reallllly bought them out to play. Sarah was absolutely amazing throughout my whole experience, she was the most supportive person I had ever met, she treated my newborn to extents I wasn't imagining, the love and dedication of her role was evident at every moment. When she went on break, I had another midwife, who to be short and polite, scared me about the whole situation and made me feel a bit unsafe about everything. Sarah was quick to relieve all these feelings.

We encountered nurse Jenna five weeks later on Rose ward, we call her my sons first love. He would set off all his alarms whenever she was on shift and the minute she was in he was fine, he absolutely adored just staring at her and at only 5 weeks old, the favourtism for her from him was evident! We also had Ev who was absolutely amazing at supporting me as a new, young mum with the whole ordeal, she was so comforting and whenever I saw her coming in for changeover times I was immediately calmed. All the nurses were lovely but the way Ev was able to connect to me, was invaluable while I was entering some good ol' PND and PNA through it all.

We were recently in again due severe gastro, we were on a short stay ward on level 4, I can't fault any of the support we received from the nurses here either. Minh in particular was absolutely wonderful, my little boy does not like medical staff (immediately knows they're going to touch him, often covid swabs in his day and age with any medical place!), Minh was gorgeously gentle and patient with my son and his fears. It was wonderful to watch him be so accepting of my sons challenges.

I've heard some not so great stories about WCH but in my numerous experiences with them (have been in ED multiple times with my son due to "bench" issues that need immediate assistance but can usually go home from there!), I've never been too worried about trusting their staff and asking for more support if it was ever needed.
