Battunga Cottages Bed and Breakfast

Stayed here for a long weekend in the accessible galah cottage and it was perfect.

The welcome basket was beyond generous consisting of cereals, freshly baked bread, spreads, condiments, bacon, eggs, cheeses, crackers, dips, wine, chocolates and more and acomodating to dietary requirements.

Host Kerry was very friendly and accommodating with anything we could need.

Located a easy drive to Clare to eat at restaurants and explore the area. The night sky is stunning here, so many stars.

Cottage is fully accessible with open shower, ramp provided for front door and Kerry was happy to assist to move any furniture if required.

Absolutely recommend a visit and would love to stay again.

Absolutely lovely cottages. Elegant and authentic. Wonderful selection of breakfast provisions (including freshly baked bread) and evening treats too. Very relaxing. Good location for a dinner in the Watervale Hotel, a hike on the Riesling way and of course some cellar doors. Highly recommended. Photo proof of some kanga visitors at dusk!

We had a great weekend at Battunga Cottages. Kerry was a lovely host, very welcoming especially with a loaf of warm freshly baked bread. The cottages are centrally located in the Clare Valley close to Watervale Hotel and surrounding wineries. Highly recommend doing the Riesling Bike trail then relaxing with the peaceful wild life at the cottage to enjoy the yummy cheese, wine and fresh provisions provided.

We really like Battunga Cottages we have stayed there four times in the last 18 months. Great location at Watervale, quiet relaxing and close to everything in the Clare Valley. We would highly recommend a stay.

Salve for the soul 💕. From the moment I stepped foot into Battunga, I was welcomed with warmth by the wonderful Kerry and Mark. I was given a tour of their beautiful homestead and gardens, and sent off to my lodgings with a loaf of freshly baked bread. And once there, a plethora of local produce meant no need to leave my accommodation. A glass of wine and some cheese and crackers whilst I watched the sun set, and immersed myself in the nature around me….simply magic! Thanks, I’ll be back (might even bring my husband next time, haha!!!) :)

Kerry was an amazing host providing the most generous array of breakfast and other provisions including freshly baked bread, bacon, eggs, cereals, jams, cheeses, biscuits, juices, wine and the lits goes on. Cottage was comfy and peaceful and well located being close to the Clare Valley wineries and wonderful Watervale Gastro Pub. Kerry has lots of great suggestions including getting our e-bikes delivered to walks through her property. We had a wonderful stay.

Battunga Cottages completely exceeded our expectations! We have stayed in similar accommodations but this was a standout. We made a last-minute booking after unexpectedly losing our dog and needing somewhere to mend for a few nights. It felt like we were welcomed with a big warm hug. On arrival Kerry had freshly baked bread, a cheese platter, and chilled wine waiting for us. The cottage itself was just lovely, well-presented and clean. Plenty of firewood made for lovely, cosy evenings. Extremely generous breakfast provisions - we wanted for nothing. Kerry was in touch prior to our arrival with detailed directions and recommendations on what to do in the area and she made us feel so welcome. We came here feeling a bit fragile, and left feeling so restored and cared for. It was exactly what we needed and we cannot wait to come back again in the future.

We had the most wonderful and peaceful stay at Kerry's cottages! Everything was exceptionally catered for and perfect. The warm home baked bread on arrival , the more than adequate provisions and all the homely touches made for a lovely and comfortable stay. Highly recommend! Will definitely be back.

The best B&B experience ever! We stay at a lot of different styles of accommodation and recently had a wedding to attend in the area. From our first contact, Kerry was amazing - patient with the changes to dates due to COVID and incredibly professional. We were greeted by Kerry on arrival with a loaf of fresh bread and a run down of taxi services and the likes. The cottage itself was so warm and welcoming and incredibly well appointed. We highly recommend Battunga Cottages, have recommended to everyone we know and beyond any doubt will stay there again for our next function in the Clare Valley, as well as a sneaky holiday in a place of extreme beauty and serenity. The location of Battunga Cottages set in a leafy, pretty part of Watervale was a complete surprise. The beautifully presented cottage had all amenities to make our stay very comfortable. Our host Kerry was very friendly & provided ample breakfast supplies, & the amount of fruit, snacks & other delicacies was amazing.

We absolutely love this place and the host is super friendly. The stay was peaceful and relaxing. The cottage is lovely and gorgeous. Kerry kindly prepared all kinds of fresh food and drinks tailored to our tricky dairy requirements, including wine and yummy chocolates. There is hiking trail nearby so we went for an early morning walk which was awesome. While enjoying our breakfast, we also saw 2 kangaroos going down hill from the window, making us feel so close to the nature. We surely will come back here.

We booked for 3 nights at Battunga Cottages and stayed 14 nights. The cottages are tastefully presented, comfortable and very private. They are situated in the beautiful Clare Valley.

The breakfast food provided was fresh and plentiful. Towns, wineries and historic sites are in close proximity to the cottages. We spent much of our time walking along the Riesling Trails which are well maintained and meander through the farms and wineries in the peaceful countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thank Kerry and Mark for their kind and friendly hospitality. We look forward to returning for another visit. Thank you, Tess and Ian

Lovely, comfortable cottages in a great location, with easy access to the Riesling Trail and the impressive Watervale Hotel and General Store. The setting is so relaxing, with bird noise and kangaroos and a view from every angle. The hosts were second-to-none with awesome attention to detail - home-baked bread, massive provisions for breakfast and snacks and lots of local produce. We will definitely be back :)

The Batting Cottages are superb with everything (and more!) that you would ever need to have an indulgent and serene stay. Kerry and Mark are amazing hosts with warm bread on arrival! Would highly recommend to anyone wishing for a relaxing and nature filled weekend.

We had 3 nights in the Rosella Cottage - just gorgeous, and we were made to feel very welcome by the hosts Kerry and Mark. It seemed like a week's worth of relaxation. The cottage was a treat, great attention given to the authentic style, made cosy with the wood fire (or could opt for controlled warm air-conditioning if desired). Abundant farm produce for a hearty breakfast (or organic mueseli and yoghurt when we out for lunch), coffee machine, a variety of teas, home baked bread, welcome wine, cheese and chocolate -just superb! Woke to the sounds of birds, encountered kangaroos on the walking trail and it is just a 10 minute drive to Watervale. It is a perfect location for exploring the Clare Valley - right in the middle of a range of wineries, restaurants and quirky antique shops. It was so relaxing we opted to 'stay in' one day just curl up on the couch and read. We will be back!

Beautifully decorated rooms, peaceful setting and delicious provisions. The home baked bread made me feel welcomed and all the local produce was of the best quality and everything so well presented. The rooms are away from the main house so quite private. And of course Kerry the owner was welcoming and lovely on arrival. I will be returning.

A fantastic place to stay in the Clare Valley. Kerry and Mark were wonderful hosts, and the delicious provisions waiting for us on our arrival were the perfect way to relax after a long week. We loved all the thoughtful little touches in the room that made our stay so comfortable, and the setting was absolutely beautiful!

Peaceful in a beautiful valley of gum trees, only a couple of minutes from main street of Clare valley. Attractive elegant old-world decor. huge walk in shower and good strong water pressure. Lovely home made bread made by host. Fabulously equipped kitchen with several items supplied so that you could easily cook your own meals there. Also a BBQ.

THANKYOU for a wonderful stay with you at Battunga Cottages. All of my team were pleasantly surprised at the amazing spread that was organized for us. Including the fresh bread- which was DELICIOUS!!! We have full bellies and much relaxed bodies and minds thanks to your amazing care.

Having the opportunity to have a warm fire, and cheese platters while we looked through the DVD library and board games was a lovely addition and kept us busy on our second night.

All slept well - Thankyou for the extra bedding and the luxuriously soft towels! The tea selection and set up under the verandah gave us ample time to take in the gorgeous surroundings too. An amazing view to take in each morning and evening- we had been blessed with great weather and we’re lucky to enjoy the premises in this way!

We could not ask and wish for a better place for our short getaway trip. The location was just beautiful and sorounded by nature, close to all amenities that we wanted to see and the lady owner was just wonderful, her welcoming was very kind and friendly with a warm, lovely home made bread and other goodies.
