My favourite lake in Melbourne, I have been there more than 30 times, I caught just a couple of fisheries. Enjoy the silence, the sky views at night , and there is a ramp for boats

This the best lake in the district for kayaks. Perfect for a great day and a BBQ!! Does have public toilets too!!

It's a lovely spot to go for a swim. You can drive right up to the waters edge where you can swim.. water was very clean and the gravel is ok on your feet. No shade anywhere on the water I suggest you bring your own method of shade. Umbrella, gazebo, tent etc.

A nice little spot for a warm day to wet your toes, or the rest of you. Can be quite busy on weekends and it's very busy on a long weekend. There is a lot of room there though. It's a great spot for families but make sure little ones are supervised in or around the water!

Lovely quite place to enjoy the sun and views.
Our dogs loved swimming there.
We did find lots of rubbish that others must have forgotten to take with them.

About Axedale
Town in Australia

Axedale is a town in Victoria, Australia. It is located on the McIvor Highway, in the City of Greater Bendigo, east of Bendigo. It was surveyed and proclaimed in 1861. At the 2021 census, Axedale had a population of 984. The town is nestled alongside the Campaspe River which feeds out of Lake Eppalock. It has a golf course, tennis courts, a school, a pub and a convenience store/petrol station. It lies between Heathcote and Bendigo. The Post Office opened on 21 April 1862. The town was served by the Axedale railway station on the Heathcote railway line from 1888 until 1941. On Christmas Day 1929, the town was hit by a tornado that grew to a maximum width of 3 km wide. source
