Licola Wilderness Village

Very economical and scenic place. The residential area is rustic and more like a hostel, so don't expect high standards.
Location itself is vey peaceful and a gateway to so many camp sites and offroad tracks.
The Wilderness village has a lot of activities for kids to enjoy but you need to confirm with the administration before booking as the staff may be not available during public holidays.

Omg we came for a camp licola and dam it's been the best camp I have ever remembered from my childhood I am now 38 years old and now found it again can't wait to come back and had so much fun like I did back then thanks again

I participated in a sponsored camp for 111 underprivileged kids who had a great week away from home. Camp management was excellent and attentive.

Got there at around 6.30pm, the manager /owner met us and showed our convoy to our two cabins. Plenty of space and very clean.
We just spent the night there and wished we spent at least another day doing camp activities like the kids do at this place :)

Wonderful location. Cabins comfortable though sparse. Great dining hall with excellent catering. Close to high country and walking trails. Can cope with very large groups.

Great place for this camp and excellent staff. Had a fabulous four days at this camp and looking forward to coming back next year.

Picturesque naitch. Stunning spot of countryside. Swimming against the river current was invigorating. Camping on spike-free lush grass was lux on my barefeet. Already looking forward to returning here.

This is a wonderful place to get away from it all. Terrific staff and a stunning location on the Macalister River.

Attended a seniors getaway here. Fantastic fun. Why should only kids have the opportunity to experience the high ropes, abseiling, flying fox and the giant swing.

So I wasn't at Licola by choice :) I came as a SA CFS strike team leader for the fires in March... But I have to say, the location is lovely and the accommodation is organised in 'houses' with individual bedrooms accommodating 4 or so people. Decent quality accommodation. The only issue I had with the accommodation is the lack of mobile signal, which I personally didn't mind but the 30 firefighters in the strike team missed rather badly.. But not being contactable is actually a delight too :)

The Licola valley in a normal time would be utterly delightful. The river passing by the campsite would be just ideal for sitting with a glass of red in the evening, mozzies not withstanding.

The road up into the high country affords excellent views and is a must-do, of course. There appears to be some really nice looking camping spots along Kelly's lane, but you'd need a decent high clearance 4WD. Didn't really get a chance to extensively explore this trip due to being on-duty!

I will be returning as a paying customer sometime, maybe next year after the country has had a chance to heal a little. We both love the high country.

Excellent hosts, generous camp sites, comfortable shelter and good showers.
Plus a well stocked general store and amazing location what more could you want?

A fantastic hideaway for a large group nestled in a valley along the McAlister River. A fantastic festival of 2000ppl is held there in May called 'The Town'. Such a lovely experience in a setting of beauty, comfort and amenity. Cabins, trampolines, rock climbing, canoeing, zip line, etc. Owned and run by Lions groups.

Lovely little town, caravan park/shop owners are super friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for 2 days and 2 nights. Wonderful experience, gorgeous place with loads to do for the whole family.
