Great Western Hotel - Ballan

Loved it! The service was awesome, the atmosphere was wonderful. Had a perfect steak, cooked exactly right. I head a Capt n Coke and the wife had a Long Island Iced Tea and they did not pour light, not was it over powered.

Gorgeous. Amazing decor, lovely staff and delicious food. So excited to have a destination venue in my local area! Olivia went above and beyond, Oscar made a wonderful cosmopolitan and the prawn cocktail was next level delicious. I can't wait to go back again. The atmosphere is so good and they have done such a good job of the interiors. They really embraced the 70s vibe and went with it, and pairing the food with the decor was such a wonderful idea as well. Really well thought out and I just love the place. Will 100% be back!

A group of us (12) came for lunch today. I had the Gnocchi and I loved it. The food came out reasonably quickly. Great venue and space. We pre booked a table, but it wasn't busy at all.

This is by miles the best meal I've ever had at any establishment, Do not go elsewhere. It will be your loss. Great service, this hotel is a hidden gem. I paid $47 for my steak and it was worth more, seriously I would've paid a hungy it was to die for, compliments to the Michelin star chef. 100% 10 out of 10.

This was the nicest pub meal we have had in a very long time, it was definitely restaurant quality. My husband had the gnocchi which he said was excellent. I had the veal scallopine with saffron risotto it was beautiful. The music that was playing was pleasant and songs that most generations would recognise and appreciate. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and we will definitely visit again.

Went for dinner and although not a cheap outing, the food was incredible, drinks were amazing (especially the espresso martini!), staff were friendly, service was fast and it has a great retro vibe. Don’t mind paying a bit extra for high quality food and we were very impressed with the pork belly and barramundi special, both delicious! 10/10 will be coming back!

Cosy pub, it had a great vibe with 60's/70's music playing in the background to match the decor, and the food was delicious plus friendly staff.

Fantastic! Came in last minute with 20 people for a bucks party. Food was great and received it quickly, the staff were accommodating to our every need. Best part was the banter with the staff, absolutely amazing experience and couldn’t recommend more.

We had an absolutely delightful meal at the Great Western. The decor is absolutely gorgeous, and the music swinging. It has a nice plush retro look. The waiting staff were absolutely delightful, perfectly attentive without being overbearing. The food was delicious, and we thought it was great value for money. A wonderful addition to Ballan!

The food was amazing! So many GF/GFO options on the menu, they also have one GF beer available which is fantastic.
The interior makeover has completely transformed the venue and looks stunning.
Will definitely return. Well done to all involved.

The best Parma I have ever eaten! Moist, juicy chicken breast, a tomato sauce to die for, cheese mmm delicious. Definately the place to go, if the Parma is this good I wonder what the rest of the menu will be like.

Went in for lunch today and we were very happy with the meals, the Parma was extremely good, the Pork schnitzel (I had) was delicious and my mate's steak was well received. The refurbishment has been done with taste and the overall feel of the pub is welcoming. A good range of beers as well.

Run, don't walk. I'll be raving about this place for a few days, the food was that tasty I basically inhaled it. Staff were very friendly, meals came out quickly. Good music played at just the right level to enjoy. Child friendly and easy parking. Highly recommended

Absolutely love this place. The staff are wonderful & always have a smile. The food is different to the norm (I just had Vol a vonts) and the decor is spectacular. Love the Lyrebird theme. Thankyou for making my birthday so special.

Not knowing the area, the 7 of us, including children, took a punt on booking a table here for dinner.
Service was excellent and meals were to die for.
Relaxed atmosphere and very friendly.
Will definitely return, when next in town.

Nice pub with an upmarket menu. Great staff and the food was fabulous, entree size was big enough for my meal with a dessert.

Went here for dinner after returning to Ballan after 12 years away. An absolutely fantastic night of dinner. Food was brilliant and the service there from the whole team there was absolutely fantastic cannot recommend this place enough

Fantastic gem in Ballen! Meals and service were great, my daughter has a few allergies and the staff were great about it. Were even able to suggest and alter the kids menu to accommodate for her. I had the barramundi, it was absolutely delicious ! Can highly recommend!

Best meal i have ever eaten! Expensive but so worth it! I could go every day! I can't stop telling people about it! Staff were incredible. Inside has been done up beautifully!!! Highly recommend!!!!!!
