Amazing local cafe with great taste of food, lovely staff and nice atmosphere.

Wonderful place to meet and eat in the middle of Ballan. Attention to detail, behind a relaxed and friendly smile, serving food cooked to order with Campos coffee along with a sensible selection wine.

I was on my way home from staying at the local caravan park and stopped in for a late breakfast. It was a good breakfast menu and I selected a skinny Cap plus two eggs scrambled on toast for $11. The service was very good and it did not take very long to arrive. You cannot go wrong with eggs on toast. Thank you and Regards

One of my favourite place for a quick coffee break when driving in between Melbourne and Central Highlands. Friendly staff serving Campos coffee in a quiet leafy road in a village. Offers a good range of slicecs, tart and cookies (or hot chips) if one is looking for something quick with takeaway coffee. If I am critical, I would love to get little more creamy taste in the coffee.

Delicious fish burger and chips! Absolutely phenomenal, will definitely be back! Service is amazing, staff were lovely.

Tuesday morning 24th October stopped at Ballan for a break before heading to Kyneton races. Pulled into Zest Licensed Cafe for a coffee and cake break. A lovely cafe it was as well with lots of seating and spacious. Had a good coffee and a Monte Carlo biscuit. Yum. Highly recommended Zest.

Lovely little place. So pleased to go to a Cafe where you don't get blasted out with loud music whilst you are eating and trying to talk with your friend. Will remember this place next time we are passing through again.

What a great find in Ballan! Lovely food - I had a Zest burger, my wife had the fish and chips. Chips were delightfully crisp and nicely seasoned. Friendly staff and quick service complement the great food. Pleasant surroundings and the coffee was bloody excellent.

Update: Sunday Breakfast this time, and the brekky roll was a beauty, and the coffee (long black) really pleasant.

Sick of the rain and getting hungry as we headed to Ballarat. So we got off the freeway into Ballan. We were very pleasantly surprised by Zest. A roomy place might have been a general store in its day. But the food on offer was really good. The BLT with Avocado was ample with plenty of the local butcher's bacon. We would like to come up and buy his bacon! It was delicious. The beef burger was very tasty with the meat still moist and not squeezed out of all the juices. And it also had the local bacon in it. So, we really enjoyed the fare there. Make a point of pulling the freeways into these hamlets, you will be pleasantly surprised with what you find.

Best chicken salad ever! Basic simple fresh tasty!!!

Very friendly staff and owner. It is a focal part of enjoying Ballan - for not only locals, but anyone heading out on the Western Freeway, and others like us. Well worth visiting

This is a fantastic place for a quick but absolutely delicious lunch! Coffee was fabulous as was the hot mocha! Staff here are really friendly and incredibly happy.
