Absolutely fantastic!
My family came here for the first time today, I was unsure at first with pricing, but it was so worth it. A very educational and hands-on experience, almost every animal we got to pat, feed, and cuddle. Unlike any other place I have seen. There were around 20 people in our group, but plenty of sharing went on, and all had equal time with the different animals. The two staff whilst very young were professional and very helpful, kind and encouraging. My mother is in a wheelchair and although the grounds is rough, we managed well, and everyone was very helpful.
I am very happy we drove 3.5 hours to do this experience, was well worth it.
Highly recommended to all animal lovers or those new to Australia to meet some Aussie animals. The session went for 90 minutes and was the perfect amount for time.
Thank you to Warrnambool Wildlife Encounters for a great time. :)

Definitively the best thing my wife and I did during our trip to Warrnambool. Zara and Allie were both very knowledgeable and obviously passionate about what they do. The opportunity to get so close to so many fantastic animals is not to be missed. Great value, make sure to book as it is not a walk-in experience.

Zara and her team are fantastic!! Zara - a true blue knowledgeable, engaging and charming young lady who is also very patient with the kids. This is hands down the best wildlife park / experience / encounter I have done in Oz… and I’ve done quite a few!! My 2.5 year old daughter was over the moon with excitement. Absolutely do this if you are anywhere nearby!! Well worth it! Thanks guys!!

This was by far the best experience we have had on the Great Ocean Road (and probably our whole trip to Australia)! Warrnambool Wildlife Encounters is a compete gem and truly unique place run by passionate, knowledgeable and kind individuals who have so much love and respect for all the animals. We got to hold wombats and meet up close all of the wonderful and charismatic creatures, and learn a lot of fun and interesting facts. Would highly recommend, not only to families but to anyone who loves animals and is keen to support local, authentic businesses!

Really detailed hands-on experience where the kids (and adults) get to touch and hold snakes, gliders, wombats, lizzards and many more native animals. Would recommend to any families or people unfamiliar with Australian wildlife. Support this local Aussie business as you'll enjoy a great presentation by passionate young people with a wealth of knowledge. Must book as limited numbers in consideration of animal welfare.

At Warrnambool Wildlife Sanctuary, the wildlife encounters are truly extraordinary, offering a chance to get remarkably up close and personal with a variety of captivating animals. From hand-feeding gentle kangaroos to marveling at the playful antics of curious koalas, the experience is both thrilling and educational.

The sanctuary's staff play a crucial role in enhancing the encounters, as they are not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about the resident wildlife. Their passion for conservation shines through as they eagerly share insights and stories about the animals, fostering a deeper connection and understanding between us and the natural world. With their warm and informative guidance, we left the sanctuary with lasting memories and a newfound appreciation for the importance of preserving our precious wildlife.

We recently went here over the Christmas break with our 2 year old son and had the best time! The staff were so friendly, very knowledgeable and you could tell extremely passionate about what they do. I was pleasantly surprised at the small group sessions as it meant you could clearly see and hear the animals and the staff. It was interactive meaning one person from each family had the opportunity to hold each of the animals they brought out (snakes, kangaroo, wombat, possum). The staff were really patient and allowed for any photos or questions.
After this we were brought outside and every person was given a bucket of food (yes every single person, adults and kids! There was no extra charge for this, something I’ve never come across before!).
We got to feed the kangaroos, emus, deer, chickens, ducks, rabbits, geese and view the dingos, koalas and owls.
I have been to a lot of wildlife/zoos/sanctuaries across Australia and this is my new favourite! I highly recommend going here, you won’t be disappointed!
Thanks guys for a great experience!

Definitely a worthwhile experience! An awesome guided tour for an hour and a half! The staff caters to everyone's needs and makes sure everyone gets a chance to interact with the animals! I've been there twice, definitely a third and fourth time

Such an amazing and wonderful experience to be up close and personal with the native Australian animals!

The guides got us to be completely hands on from the start with the snakes, lizards, wombats, kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, deer, emus, dingoes, kookaburras, eagles, owls… there were a lot of animals to meet. Our one year old was also getting in on the action, albeit a little less gently. Fantastic guides that made the experience all that more memorable.

DEFINITELY PLAN FOR STOP HERE for a break from visiting all the cliffs and don’t forget to make a booking online for a time slot.

Phenomenal experience. Learned a lot about these amazing Australians animals, where to find them, what they eat, and what threatens them. The group size was a bit large at ~30-35, but we still got to touch and/or hold many, many animals. The guides are very personable and willing to answer every question. Thank you for a memorable time

Absolutely fantastic! First 30-45 minutes you can hold a python, a big lizard, few tiny kangaroos and a wombat! And to touch an opossum with a kid on her back. Then you go out to feed kangaroos and ostriches. Koala sits in a separate place and you can touch it as well. And dingos. Kids loved it

Wonderful experience. Josh and Zara are terrific hosts. Sharing their knowledge and provide a thoughtful and joyful close up experience with our native animals. A must see and a learning opportunity about the challenges facing Australia's wildlife. Great for kids.
Must Book in advance.

Held a frog and a wombat, patted a joey, touched a lizard reluctantly, avoided the snake altogether, got pecked by two different emu's looking for fruit, got scratched by a female Koala. Got to look at and touch lots of different animals. An amazing experience. I also learnt lots about macropods.

I could not recommend Warrnambool Wildlife Encounters highly enough.
The price is really affordable for the experience, all of the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgable and it was a great hands on experience feeding, patting and holding a range of animals, especially Koalas.
Hands down the best wildlife park/zoo we have been to!

Amazing place for a close up and personal experience with Australian wildlife and non native animals whilst being educated about them. As a photographer it was great to have a personal experience with the animals I normally photograph in the wild from a distance. Loved how the deer and emus were looking in the windows at us during the talk and close encounters of the smaller kind, whilst waiting for us to come out. Emus can be intimidating, but these were very well behaved as well as the deer and kangaroos. Would recommend this place to everyone and a great place to bring overseas visitors. The place holds limited sessions and restricts the numbers.
