We visited the cellar door of Rock Frog Grange this morning and were immediately welcomed by the owner and two lovely dogs. The tasting was fantastic. It was super fun and the wines were outstanding. 5/5, it's a must go, when you are into wine and on the Pacific Highway.

Ross and Di are great hosts. This isn't a winery like others on the tourist trail where you're charged for tasting and you get a smidgen of wine in yr glass poured by an overworked employee.
They take the time to talk you through their wines and even take you through the production side if you're interested and they generously share their tasting wines with guests.
They make a fantastic port and their other wines are pretty good too and quite unique.
Well worth the 10 minute trip off the highway.

This was one of those authentic experiences which as a traveller you strive to find. Often though you are disappointed because it’s become too commercial or isn’t worth it but this 100% was!! We just stumbled across this place and had such a wonderful time trying Ross’ wines and equally having a lovely extended conversation with him about life in Australia and…well life in general! The wines were delicious, and the port! Which I’m not normally a fan of but this was something else! I couldn’t highly recommend visiting this place enough, enjoy it whilst it’s still one of NSW best kept secrets.

Verry nice couple to have a drink with and taste there wines from the vinyard! It is only 10 min drive from hwy 1 so a quick stop worth it to meet a real Aussie Winery! Even if you know nothing about wine they are open to all questions.

Stopped in here on our way from Byron Bay down to Sydney. Just 5 mins off the expressway but a different world. Di was headed out shopping so left us with Ross. Ross explained how he started the winery - making wine for friends and then decided to make 3,000 bottles instead of 1,000 bottles.
Ross is a down to earth guy doing what he loves and making a bit of cash from it. Some of the wines were OK, one was outstanding - from memory bcos it was a couple of weeks ago now - the 2017 Chambourcin I think. Velvety smooth, full of ripe berry flavour and good value at AUD30 I think.
No charge for tastings and great to sit and chat with Ross.
Highly recommended!

Lovely time with friends at Rock Frog Grange. A variety of good wines on offer for tasting, and Ross was very welcoming to us and also very informative when asked about the wine making process. We took home some delicious Chambourcin and Port to enjoy on our holiday.

This lil place is such an amazing find!! I would recommend it in a heartbeat to anyone and everyone in the Hunter area. My partner and I booked a last minute trip up to the Hunter and ended up staying near Dungog. I was a bit upset we were so far away from the larger, more well known wineries. However, I honestly can't imagine having had a better time anywhere else. Ross made us feel so welcome as soon as we arrived. Ned and Rusty (the resident dogs) were also a nice touch 😊 we had lovely chats with Ross and tasted some truly delicious wines. My partner isn't really a wine person and even he commented on how yummy they were! It really felt like relaxing with friends in the most beautiful setting. We walked away with two bottles of wine and a very happy memory of our spontaneous trip. Thanks so much Ross and Di for your hospitality.

Best wine tasting we've ever had. It felt like sharing great wine with good friends. Superb conversation with Ross and we took a couple of bottles for the road trip home. Highly recommended.

A quiet little winery with a relaxed and casual tasting atmosphere. The tasting experience was more akin to sitting chatting with friends than being rushed through a list so next bus load can get in.

While there is only a small selection of wines that are produced on-site from their own vineyard and select vineyards from the Hunter Valley, the wine on offer was very tasty, the hosts pleasant and laid back.

There is a grape vine covered pergola to sit under however the recent rains meant that was a damp affair so a table was parked under the awning with some chairs and the hosts sat with us discussing wine and life as we tasted the offerings.

Plan at least for least 30mins to taste, more time if anyone in the group likes a chat.

The experience of the tasting makes buying a bottle or two an easy choice.

The wine is only available from the cellar door so if you like it buy extra or a case, the small batch means once it's gone that's it.

We spent a wonderfully relaxed afternoon with the husband and wife winemakers at Rock Frog Grange where we were joined in conversation wholeheartedly by resident frogs and a couple of happy dogs who are my new best friends. The vibe was far more like an afternoon with likeminded friends than a typical wine tasting. We left with a bag of bottles and an experience that left me trying to come up with an excuse to go back and do it all over again.

Ross is so friendly and knowledgeable of wine making! The winery is a beautiful cosy place amongst their own flower garden where you can sit and enjoy a wine tasting. Ross also makes all the wines himself and he shared so much knowledge to us, definitely check out this little gem if you want a personalised and intimate wine tasting experience, it felt like we were talking to an old friend! Definitely 100% worth visiting!!

My girlfriend and I make a point to stop off here each time we head up north. Ross is an absolute top Bloke who makes you feel extremely welcome unlike a lot of the places in the Hunter Valley, the wines are a good price and quite delicious. The first time we stopped in I had a Chambourcin for the first time and usually being a Shiraz drinker only I was unsure what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed it. Have tried a few since and Frog Rock Grange is still my favourite.

Four of us decided that this place sounded like a great break on our trip from Sidney to Port Mcquarie.
Its a small establishment but the wines were well crafted and the port was a keeper. On top of that, owners Ross and Di treated us to a very hospitable welcome and we stayed for hours. We had very interesting discussions about wine making, viticulture, and Australia in general while tasting the terroir Ross and Di placed into several bottles.
In retrospect, we were welcomed like old friends and departed as friends.
One of the main high points of our trip and we hope someday to revisit.

My family and I visited this winery on our way back from Dungog. The spot itself is beautiful scenic, and the wines were very reasonably priced and delicious. Di's hospitality was really what made our visit - we loved sitting down and having a chat over a glass of delicious wine. Would recommend.

The wines are quite amazing and at a very reasonable price. The vibe is laid back & informal, and the couple who run it are very friendly. I highly recommend, especially if you a red wine enthusiast.
