Australia Post - Mitcham Post Office

Convenient location. Quite a large, and what felt like modern, Post Office with lots of resources available.
The customer service was friendly for a Post Office and the staff were able to assist me with sending my parcel off.

I didn’t catch her name but the lady who helped me renew my passport today was so lovely and made the whole process a lot less daunting for someone who has never renewed a passport before. She was able to get everything done for me in less than 10 minutes with no issues and was very polite and patient with me. Thank you :)

I’ve been coming here for a while now and I always love seeing the lovely ladies that work here. Always have great clearance products too which is a bonus. Never have to wait for very long and always have what I need. Thank you x

I was there on Friday 2nd December 2022
The queue was almost out of the door and I thought twice about staying.
Good thing I did as the 3 staff on duty did a great job of serving the customers in a very professional and efficient manner
When I was served (3 overseas Christmas cards) the male staff member said he would put the stamps on and post them!
Couldn’t ask for better or polite service

UPDATE**: I wrote the review below a few years ago and gave the post office 1 star for inconvenient hours. But this morning I went and used their new 24 hour parcel system they just installed - it works great - they email you a barcode and you can pickup your parcel anytime. Much improved!

Staff are nice but useless hours for people that work. No Saturday access and long lines every morning. With so much shopping online, it is time for this "parcel jail" service to evolve. The small dry cleaners a few doors down allows automated card swipe pickup 24x7, but to use your branch of the 8 billion/year post office you need to take off work to come stand in line?

The gentleman there was nice，thoughtful and efficient. The old lady there is also good.

If I could do a -5 for the dreadful, rude and insensitive “service” I dealt with today I would. After explaining I was returning Foxtel boxes for my recently deceased father I was told off for opening one box! I replied that the box was NOT mine and my father opened it but didn’t remove from box as he passed away. I got a shrug and rudely told to “get a new code” ……… I deal regularly with the Mylor Post Office near our home and they are beyond helpful. Mitcham could get a few lessons from a decent business operator!

Terrible, it's only open 9-5 Monday to Friday. Have to take time off every time they don't deliver a package that would fit easily in our parcel box.

Went in for a passport, old lady was extremely rude. There was no people in the store and was nasty about instructions. Unley is a much friendly post office and isn’t too far away. Definitely choose them over Mitcham. There’s a reason their rating is so low.

You probably wouldn’t have such huge lines if your average hours weren’t 9-5 weekdays and a complete closure throughout the whole weekend

The worst customer service I’ve experienced anywhere. No care for the customers at all. Would give 0 stars if I could

I paid for a P.O box,but wasn't getting mail. Initially,I thought I was getting everything electronically. Today,after another empty P.O box,I went inside and expressed my concerns that something was amiss.
It turns out that someone had put the sticker of my P.O box in a different place,and I had mail from a couple of months ago backed up.
Extraordinary incompetence!

I went here to Mitcham post office this morning. I choose a padded envelope & prepaid sticker on. The young girl trainee wanted to stick sticky tape on my name because the ink was wet. Oh… I said no it will dry. I told her the postage return was prepaid because she went to weigh it. Oh. Then she took package out back & said nothing. I left. Then I said to my husband I didn’t pay for the padded envelope when I went back she served me again & I explained to her & she said don’t speak to me like that. My husband was there I wasn’t rude. I was been honest to go back & pay for padded envelope She doesn’t know her job & was rude to me. Attitude with a BIG A. Doesn’t know her job. I am the customer I don’t need to tell them what to do.
We live in the area regular customer.
We won’t be going back.

The service here is absolutely appalling. All of the poor reviews previously written are completely justified. Extraordinary that Australia Post is ok with having these people representing their company. If it was possible to give zero stars, I would. Left feeling close to tears and will never return.

Shocked by how poor the customer service is by the older lady that works there. Absolutely appalling and unacceptable, won't be going to this post office anymore. After reading other reviews, sounds like many others have had the same experience - surprised nothing has changed.
