Amazing service from Shane at Alpine Performance Center. I was in a borrowed VW heading to the mountains and the engine started stuttering followed by check engine light coming on near Milawa. We were able to limp along for 10k to get to Whorouly, the nearest garage in our direction of travel. Shane dropped everything and had the problem diagnosed in about 10 minutes - a worn out spark plug cable causing misfiring in one cylinder. Not having the correct cable on hand, he replaced the spark plug and tried a few cables he had in the shop, which didn't fully fix the issue but got the car to a state where we could progress a bit further to Myrtleford. "Ask for Brian at Myrtleford Motors - he might get the parts faster than I can" was Shane's advice. And then he absolutely refused payment, in spite of having spent about an hour and contributed parts to make the car driveable. It's worth noting that he didn't seem that happy to see us when we first arrived, but as I showed an interest in the diagnostic process (I'm a bit of a car guy) he got warmed up and was more chatty. Just about the best resolution we could have had (and we got the car completely sorted at the location recommended by Shane, but doubt we'd have made it there without his fix.)
