Metung Park (Shaving point)

Had morning tea here and what a lovely peaceful place. Toilets, barbecues, tables and seats available. There are jetties to walk on and a nice seat to view the water.

A good quality boat ramp, there is plenty of room to manoeuvre and width for a large boat. Boats can be secured beside the ramp so one person launch or retrieval is no problem.

The water area is open so there can be a strong current, which may be challenging for less experienced boaters.

There is parking for a vehicle and trailer (10 or so) but be prepared for busy periods as there are limited options if they are all used.

Such a pretty place, with a brilliant walkway by the water. At the boat ramp there is a fish cleaning table, toilets and bbqs, and plenty of picnic tables dotted around.

Small place but I think it has a much more relaxed vibe than lakes entrance so might be better to stay here if you are travelling that way.

Metung is such a lovely place .if your down in lakes entrance or bairnsdale this is must see place and make sure u have you camera charged up as the views all along are just amazing.

Very nice place to explore near Melbourne. We went on 2 day trips from Docklands and explored this place too. It is really great place to visit.

Nice stopover and busy for boats.

Very quit place with no disturbance.. must visit place..nice locals and local cafe ,,fish and chips,,will be bored of watching yachts along way...cafes dont have much food but enough for survival..

Great place to enjoy a walk with your family! Also a splendid place for photography, especially at sunset and sunrise! They are also lots of birds there such as black swans and other water birds, so it’s also a good place for bird lovers to go!

Just love the Metung village and Shaving Point offers great views along the coastal frontage

My children love stopping by this park for a play. They climb all over the climbing area for ages and love paying in the water park

This is a fabulous spot. Lots for the kids to play on and climb, basketball ring, splash park plus plenty of spots for the parents to sit!

Not too bad but very small area… can be a POI on the way to the long distance drive…

How good is this sunset. A very tranquil place with gorgeous vistas wherever you look. Just magic

Metung is a green town on the way to Lake Entrance. We enjoyed staying there for a couple of nights. Shaving Point is situated at the end of town and has a rump and a spot for fishing.
