What a lovely warm welcome we received. Joe and his staff are just lovely. I’m not a big fan of cumin and realised it would be in the Egyptian fish. I mentioned my hesitation - then a sample of the rice turned up! It was delicious. Dogs? A bowl of water turned up
The meals were all excellent - we had the moussaka, the chicken satay and the Egyptian fish. But there were so many interesting menu options.

The premium hot chocolate is amazingly creamy and delicious. Very nice atmosphere with calm, melancholy music playing. Lovely interior design, with pictures and painting hung on the wall for sale, great to see them helping out local artists! Wonderful service from the friendly locals too. Restrooms are spotless and well maintained, as well as being wheelchair-friendly. Had a Big Gippsland Breakfast, very tasty and fresh. The sour dough and tomato was especially nice. I absolutely recommend stopping here for a bite or a drink.

I stopped here on a whim while stopping in Metung, and I’m so glad I did. Kay’s food is delicious and Joe was very warm and friendly. Brought me some lovely extra bits as he could tell I was hungry (lol)! Really nice spot that seems popular with locals and visitors alike. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area :)

Had lunch here twice recently. Can sit inside or out the front. Interesting menu. Really enjoyed both the Kofta with Egyptian Rice & Salad and Mousaka with Greek Salad. Meals cooked to order so not quick but worth the wait. Fabulous Tiramisu! Reasonable prices.

We had the pleasure of celebrating my 50th birthday at Cafe Chez Joe’s. What a welcoming & fun evening we had. We had 11 different meals in our group and everyone of them was out of this world. Fresh, tasty, perfectly cooked with good sized portions. If you’re lucky enough to have Cossett as your waitress….then you’re in for a real treat. Thank you for making our night so memorable & entertaining. ❤

A relaxed place to dine in an area where there are few places open in the evening. Had a tasty beef rendang & spicy Egyptian fried fish dish. Left enough room for berry crumble & ice cream.

I always drop in here when I'm in Metung. The menu is diverse and everything
is just delicious.

Beautiful friendly welcoming service. Best coffee around and short wait times. The owners work so hard to meet your needs. Love getting my weekend coffee and smile from there.

This place had one of the best mie goreng I’ve ever had. I also really enjoyed the rice. It has amazing satay sauce with chicken kebabs. It has a wide range of cuisines and food with great service. I would really recommend this restaurant for families and couples. You should definitely go here. Great spot and great to sit on the outdoor seating and watch the ocean.

Great food and coffee, and very comfortable seating. Food was a little slow to come out, but the coffee was right on time. Good water. Staff are friendly.

had dinner here with my husband. Shared the rendang and the chicken satay which came with gado gado. Both dishes were fantastic and very tasty. Would love to see a bit more in the gado gado like potato and egg as it was a bit plain with just the beans, carrot and cabbage.

Great coffee. Good food that is delicious, fresh & healthy & loved the homemade tiramasu for a treat.

Favourites were the Mezze plate (Kofta and Falafel), and Beef Rendang!

Great service, great food and a good chance to hang with the locals. The one across the road is far too busy which results in not very great service, but this one is great and it’s no wonder why the locals go there.

Incredible experience!
My goodness, after walking out of a rival cafe 50m away due to their rudeness, my parents and I stumbled upon here.
Such a gorgeous couple who loved telling us about their life story, and the very recent and tough (due to 3 lockdowns) history of their cafe.
They kept bringing us things to try and were so excited to include. Food and drinks were lovely, highly recommended and the service exceptional.
We wish them the best of luck! Everyone should flock here.
