A great little pub that is part museum offering a glimpse into aspects of Australian culture that are fast disappearing. The meals are mainly traditional pub counter meals. Nothing too fancy or expensive but they are delicious and the menu will bring back memories for many. During counter meal hours you can also grab a pizza and supplies if you're on the fly. Staff are friendly. Opening hours can be tricky but I'm surprised they've even survived this long considering the low volume of traffic out there. I always drop in when I'm out that way because I'd hate to see these old pubs lost to history.

On motorcycle rides with my wife via Alpine Hey we had always by passed the town of Nth Ensay, however this time we turned off the main road and stopped off at the Little River inn for a late lunch snack and beer.
Well if you like to turn back time and find a real country pub with great country hospitality in a great country looking pub in a very very quiet location.
A pleasant peaceful country surprise and they offer accommodation as well so a nice peaceful stop in your travels in the beautiful Vic Alpine region to the coast.

Wow, absolved loved my overnight stay here after cycling down from Hotham. The most authentic old world charm that no longer exists. Great food, really friendly hotelier and amazing value. Thank you for a feeling of my childhood staying in pubs.

Lovely old pub with guest rooms. Jack the young barman was so friendly and gave us insight into the local area. Fantastic asset to the pub and deserves a raise.

Tiny tiny pub, with huge huge character. Takeaway pizzas are bloody good! And the locals were lovely and welcoming ☺

Ripper little pub on the B500. The team here are just so darn friendly and nothing is a problem. We had the Chicken Kiev and of course a Parma. The meals were fantastic the Parma seemed like a whole chicken had been flattened for the serving ! The cheesecake was a takeaway after that....
The beer is super fresh and icy cold. So if you find yourself on the B500 to the snow or wherever - stop - take a break and enjoy the serenity.

I'll start with the not so great - which really is only that the rooms are a bit basic ('rustic'?), much as you'd expect. Bed comfortable though, and shower etc. quite good.
On to the good - Sue and her husband are very hospitable, old school country style, and take pride in the food they prepare. One of the best country parmas I've had, and on one trip Sue pulled out the stops to come up with vegan meals for a colleague - quite rare in the bush!
Very accomodating and friendly, and wildlife carers to boot; kudos.

A very pretty accomodation with a dorm of 6 for backpackers where I was by myself. Had an excellent night. Sue was adorable and made sure that we had everything that we need. Very friendly ambience. Highly recommend and would definitely go back.

Great location, only 30 min to Omeo or 45 min from Bruthen
Enjoyed nature and wildlife around specially the birds chirping in the morning and evening and the roosters around.
Basic , affordable and clean and comfortable accommodation
best part is the delicious food prepared fresh in the kitchen.
Highly recommended to break journey and stay there
instead of going to Omeo or Bruthen
