Big Tree Distillery Tasting Room

Located in a stunning location! Staff are super friendly as well. We had the tasting platters and some snacks. And it was delicious. Their gins are great. Love supporting the locals. Highly recommended for a little afternoon day out.

Just home from another delightful afternoon at our favourite local gin distillery. I’ve been an advocate for Big Tree for a few years now, so a review is well and truly overdue. What can I say other than Catherine and Gary obviously love what they do, as it shows in the wonderful gins they continue to produce. One I had not got around to tasting was the Blueberry Thrill, of which I brought a bottle home with me today. It’s delicious! But..:. I’m yet to find any gin that beats their Elegant Dry, a traditional London dry gin. It’s divine. Getting to BT is an adventure in itself (come in Hennebergs rd off Whitebridge is best!), you’ll be rewarded with stunning views out to the Cobaws. The perfect place to stop, enjoy time with friends over a quality drink and few nibbles. What’s not to love?

Wow! What a brilliant experience and gorgeous surrounds! The choice in Gin is incredible and for $20 you get to sample 7 flavours. The staff are so welcoming and knowledgable. The ambience and surrounds are second to none! All ingredients are locally sourced. Highly recommended

Spent the entire afternoon at the distillery. Fabulous views, great staff, very friendly and accommodating, and the Gins are beautiful. Worth spending the money to taste all the gins on offer. Can’t wait to go back!

We went there this weekend with my partner and it was an amazing surprise. There is no sign from the main road and it's a bit "secret" but the location and the view is amazing!

The gin tasting is good and the people running it are awesome. Highly recommended

A small distillery, but definitely worth the visit. Was raining when we went there, but was still a table spare inside. Got the gin flight which got us 3 gins to taste with a bottle if Capi tonic and some garnishes. A simple question got us more gins to try for no extra charge. All really nice gins, and their cheese platter suited the gins perfectly.

Will be back next time I'm down there.

If you are in the Macedon Ranges and love gin this place is a must! Don’t let the dirt track fool you and take the adventure as a fabulous time awaits. Well with the money! Fantastic venues and amazing staff that went above and beyond. Thank you for the great time.

Big Tree is the business! Amazing passion from the staff, great vibes in the tasting room and even better gin - we always make sure to stop by when we’re in the area. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Visited Big Tree today with my partner and Dianna and Cole were incredible! It was Cole’s first day and he was so interactive and attentive. Dianna knew her stuff and was so warming and welcoming. We would recommend Big Tree to anyone, and we will definitely be back once we run out of the gin we bought! (The Blueberry is amazing)

Great little distillery, we dropped in on a dreary Monday and wife had a flight of gins, I had a pale ale. Great chat about the gins, the stills, the processes and the flavours. Really liked the elegant and navy gins.

While this place is well hidden off the main road, it’s worth the effort! The gin is awesome, with a great outlook in a modern distillery.

Blue Berry Hill Gin is and absolutely beautiful gin to drink 5 stars ,but I am Baise I buy This gin every chance I get at Markets , landsfirld market Daylesford market at the Ginery and wherever else I can , it is the best there is and I have tried many all there botanicals are exceptional. Being a gin drinker and Big Tree being one of my favourites I couldn’t resist organising some of my friends to go with me to the Big Tree Gin afternoon tea and we had an amazing time. The weather was perfect and it enhanced the experience of the gorgeous surrounds and views from the very well set up tasting rooms. The floral table settings, the assortment of beautiful food provided and the customer service was exemplary. And the gin…well I came away with extra purchases and so did my friends so that speaks for itself! Thank you to the hosts…well worth the trip from Melbourne.

Couple from the Central Victoria region. The picnic box is delicious and is great value. Bonus is getting great box full of great produce that you can take home. Left with a bottle of Navy gin after doing the tasting. Service was friendly and went above and beyond. We’ll be back.

Gintastic! Love the ambience of this amazing place in the Macedon Ranges. Staff are knowledgeable and attentive, the gin tasting extensive and generous with accompanying garnishes to compliment the flavour. The Slow berry and Elderflower styles being quite unique, you dont need to be a gin lover to enjoy these! Fab experience!

Thank you Catherine and Gary for hosting the perfect afternoon tea last weekend! The food was delicious, the three gin based cocktails all individual and very yummy, the location unique and the weather perfect! Our group had a wonderful time and our wheat intolerant gal pal was well catered for.
Hope you make it a yearly event. I’ll certainly be there. A gin based afternoon tea is so much better than just a cup of tea.

Big Tree is set in beautiful farmlands with a stylishly appointed and intimate cellar door. Big Tree had a carefully crafted selection of gins and other condiments, coupled by exceptionally warm and knowledgeable staff, which made an unforgettable experience. This place is a little out of the way but certainly worth it!
Shoutout to Tilly and Wilma, the two friendly dogs who greeted us :)
