Prom Mill Cottages

Oberon cottages are very comfortable 3 bedrooms. I come here for the last 5 years and been happy

Quiet self-catering cottages, tucked away with a log fire and enough comforts for a relaxing winter break.

House was what we were expecting, I would have given the place 4/5 however we were not happy about the following things which has left me disappointed and dropped down to 2/5:

- Website said there was internet access which we misunderstood to be complimentary. We could barely get any reception on our phones, however not a big deal:
- Being accused TWICE of bringing more people than 4 people when I had clearly paid for 6 people with the lady at time of booking on the phone. If they go back to how much I actually paid and compared to rates on website it checks out. Whenever I mentioned I had paid for 6, the lady made it out that she was doing me a favour saying "it is what it is"
- A lot of the floors and benches were dusty, toaster had cobwebs, one of the single beds was not even made up
- Getting a follow up phone call in a condescending tone about leaving the aircon, lights and electric blankets for which I apologised for. This was also the second time I was accused of bringing extra people.
- Although we did not turn off the lights, we left the place in a clean condition. We put all the dishes through a wash cycle and took trash out along with expired food. There was no appreciation for this.

All in all at least cottage although older was mostly clean. Nearly all appliances, utensils and towels were provided. Size of the cottage was quite big. The distance was really close to Wilsons prom (only 5 minute drive). The rate was quite good at $260 a night for 6 people over Easter. However will not be staying here again as was not happy with the accusation of underbooking and the condescending tone in follow up phone call. We will opt for an air bnb next time.

Do not stay in this absolute dump of a cottage, and I use the term cottage very loosely. Unless you like the following: Spiders in your food, spiders in your non functional toaster, spiders hiding in your toilet bowl you get the point. I cannot convey strongly enough on how disgusting this place was initially, the floor boards were full of dead bugs and spiders its like they had insect war 3 in here.

The staff were rude and unhelpful and unknowledgeable, we were laughed at for asking if the place has internet and were told to bring our own internet. We could not access the windows in each room, without sacrificing ourselves to the spider gods. The shower lacked hot water, the furniture was dated and teared, there was remnants of feces in the kettle.
One of the chairs legs had a large splinter that had cut one of my friends, spiders are getting intelligent and setting traps.

I'm more inclined to think that the cottage itself is catered for spiderman and not humans. Pretty sure I'm going to end up with some sort of rash/disease due to the sanitation conditions similar to those of a homeless junkie.

In closing, this place is a complete hole, but its ok if you want to feel closer to spiderman.

Well if you like to stay at a dirty, unwelcoming place- look no further. Upon arrival some of the beds were unmade. Blankets unfolded. Bed linen everywhere. The floor was filthy. There were spiders& spider webs everywhere. It looked like the place wasn't clean from previous guests. Website is misleading about 'yes' for Internet. The toaster does not work properly. The couch inside is worn & torn. Would not recommend this place.
