Barfold Estate

We had a truly restorative weekend at Barfold Estate. The accommodation was beautiful and location serene. Every detail in the immaculate guest room appealed to my design-loving heart.

We’ve just spent an amazing weekend in the absolutely stunning accommodation on Barfold Estate. Located around 25 mins from Heathcote and 15 mins from Kyneton, it’s quiet, peaceful and perfect.
The accommodation are two separate suites with a shared pond view, also overlooking the vineyard. There are lovely things to explore on the estate, including the winery. Sheep and even some ruins.

Beautiful wine is waiting in the wine fridge and other supplies, thoughts and touches top it off. To say these places are beautiful is an understatement. This is one of (if not) the coolest places we’ve stayed.

Sandra is a wonderful host, ensuring we had all we needed (not forgetting the estate dog Hugo!) and we look forward to staying again.

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful space surrounded by peaceful environment. We were entertained by a frog, a fox, a kangaroo, many birds, insects (from their noise at night) and Hugo (the dog) in the vineyard.
Sandra was lovely and we learnt a lot about the place during the wine tasting session!

A beautifully presented property. The first-class amenities and relaxing ambience provided a welcoming and enjoyable stay. Barfold Estate is well located convenient to Heathcote and Kyneton. It's always a pleasure to be welcomed by the owner and to learn about the origins of their property.

It was absolutely an amazing place for a weekend escape, about an hour and half drive from Melbourne. As an architectural designer, I was attracted by the idea of sustainability and the interior design embedded in this property.

We had our pre-wedding shot in there with our friends and Sandra was very supportive and helpful. The vibe there was just right, especially love the sound of frogs at night and the fireplace. The quality of the wine was impressive as well, after the wine tasting, we brought couple bottles back as gift to our friends. We definitely will plan another stay with Barfold in the future.

Absolutely loved our stay at Barfold estate. We felt relaxed the minute we walked through the doors. The accommodation is so stunning and has a luxe feel to it. If you’re into design it’s also very inspiring!

Sandra was also very lovely, and all the extra touches like breakfast, and the cellar door truely made this a fabulous weekend. We are already trying to plan another stay.

We had the most blissful weekend at Barfold Estate. Sandra is such a wonderful host and the accommodation was just beautiful. We loved sitting on the balcony watching the sun set and enjoying a bottle of wine from the bar fridge. The cabin is so well appointed and every detail has been well considered. Going to sleep to the sounds of the frogs in the pond was delightful! Thank you Sandra, we will be recommending Barfold Estate far and wide.

Just returned home after the most wonderful weekend here. Sandra has created the ultimate getaway experience. The new accommodation on site is designed with every detail; from the bath salts to enjoy the bath overlooking the dam through to the utensils to enjoy your own cooked meal.

The feature fire double sided to enjoy watching from your bed was a novelty and something we really enjoyed.

Her hospitality and hosting is so genuine and warm and we throughly enjoyed our wine tasting and learning about her family life and the Barfold Estate.

Can highly recommend and will be sure to tell all our friends and family for their next weekends away!

Our wine cabinet is also now looking lovely and stocked up. Thanks Sandra :)

We stayed at Barfold Estate for two nights for my wife's 30th birthday. The accommodation is exceptional for the price, the estate and its surrounds are incredibly picturesque, and the wines produced by Barfold Estate are excellent. Would highly recommend for a get-away, otherwise, get there for a tasting and to buy some wines from Sandra (our excellent host and owner of the estate).

There are almost no words to describe how amazing Barfold Estate is! We had the most beautiful two nights there. Everything is immaculate - every detail is considered and uber stylish. We have left feeling extraordinarily relaxed and are planning our next stay already! Thank you Sandra 🙏🏼

We had a great weekend away at Barfold Estate. The house is beautifully designed, thought has gone into every detail: the furniture, bedding, fireplace, breakfast supplied and of course the bath overlooking the dam. Highly recommend coming to stay here for a relaxing weekend, or as a good place to stay whilst exploring all of the other wineries in Heathcote and close town of Kyneton. Sandra is a great host and Barfold Estate wine is delicious.

Barfold Estate is stunning!! Exceptional furnishings & decor. Every detail has been considered. So spacious and the wood fire makes the place so warm. Breakfast provisions were delicious! We will definitely stay there again.

We stayed at Barfold Estate for our anniversary and it was super special. Sandra’s friendliness and hospitality was gorge and really added to the experience. The accomodation was perfect - cozy, peaceful and very aesthetically pleasing! We’ll be back for sure! :)

If you're looking for a relaxing get away, this is the place for you. Situated on a beautiful winery and built amongst the gums, near a dam. This place is beautiful! The suite has all the stylish fittings and amenities you'll need and looks like an architectural dream out of House and Garden. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We had such a wonderful time at Barfold Estate. The cabins are just so stunning, so cosy and have the nicest feel. The fireplace is just so perfect for a winter stay! We will definitely be back here.

We discovered Barfold Estate via The Design Files. We were excited to see and experience the architectural style and explore the region. That was only half the story, Sandra is an amazing host, generous with her time and knowledge. The units are beautifully appointed and have everything you need to settle in and enjoy a magical spot. A generous bottle of wine on arrival and the fire ready to be lit. The added bonus is a bespoke wine tasting of her hand crafted wines. Cool climate, fruit driven with acidity and balance. A real surprise as previously unknown to us. Strongly recommend this as a two day escape close to Melbourne and central in the Kyneton / Heathcote region. Five Stars!
