The Windmill Bargara is somewhat hard to spot off the street. There is a big Fiddle Leaf Fig tree obscuring the building. If maps says you are there, its to the left off See Street, next door to the Post Office (PO is to the right).
Three of us attended and we were seated right away. Food came out super fast!
I had the Chicken and waffle Benedict, the others had the Bacon and Egg roll and a serving of Belgian Waffles. We had water for the table and a coffee with a complimentary tiny shortbread (which was really good, an Almond dirty Chai extra hot in a takeaway cup)
Service was friendly and attentive, food was really good, we all shared the Chicken waffle and Belgian waffles between us. Servings are generous. I am a Chicken waffle fan so I will recommend that. Will defs be back, on a trip to explore the area a bit more and try some other items on the menu. It's a busy place. A good sign. They also sell products from local business inside 🙂

I’ve had the pleasure of visiting The Windmill several times for breakfast, and each visit has been a delightful experience. Let me break it down:

Consistently Delicious Food: The culinary team at The Windmill knows their way around flavors. Whether it’s a hearty breakfast bowl or lunch, the food consistently hits the mark. I’ve never been disappointed—each bite is a celebration of taste.
Bold and Flavorful Coffee: As a coffee enthusiast, I appreciate a good brew. The coffee here is robust, with a depth of flavor that wakes up my senses. Whether you prefer a flat white or a long black, you’re in for a treat. It’s the kind of coffee that makes you pause and savor the moment.
Top-Notch Service: The staff at The Windmill are attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about making your dining experience memorable. From the warm welcome at the door to the personalized recommendations, their service elevates the entire visit.
Freshness on Every Plate: The ingredients used in their dishes are undeniably fresh. Whether it’s the avocado in the smashed avo toast or the herbs sprinkled over the Windmill stack, you can taste the quality. It’s like they plucked the greens fresh from the garden.
Nature’s Retreat: Now, let’s talk about the setting. The Windmill is nestled in a serene corner, surrounded by lush green plants and native birds. A place of tranquility. Whether you’re catching up with friends or enjoying a solitary moment, this environment soothes the soul.
In summary, The Windmill isn’t just a café; it’s a sanctuary for food lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. If you’re in Bargara, make it a point to visit. Trust me—you’ll leave with a contented heart and a satisfied palate.

We dropped in for a coffee and something sweet on the side. The coffee was good and hot as requested. The butterscotch eclairs was yum. Filled with a custard-like cream but firm, not messy. I enjoyed every bite with a little fresh cream.

We had an awesome lunch here today of Bubble and Squeak, it was delicious, loved the atmosphere, had an outside table in the shade. The building is rather unique. Would definitely eat out at The Windmill again.

The BEST food stop we made on our road trip over the holidays. So much nicer than the more generic places around - a true little hidden sanctuary with really great gluten free options.

Friendly staff, good service, gorgeous setting with lights & plants.

We really enjoyed the smoked mackerel omelette & the fried chicken Benny (photo).

The soy pork Benny was strange and a bit lacking in portion size. Got 3 juices/smoothies total & the juice was amazing but one of them came almost half foam. But they were gorgeous (didn't get a picture)

A very pleasant experience overall, still 5/5

The food and atmosphere were both amazing. It is often difficult to find somewhere that can meet allergy needs, but there were many options here that were all very well done. The fresh, scratch cooking makes it a great place for dietary needs and makes the food all the better. We rarely double-dip a restaurant when traveling, but we absolutely had to come back again and it was just as good as the first time. Friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere, chill vibe, and great food. From 1-5, I'd give it a 10.

Outstanding cafe at Bargara

Booked with a group of ten, meals arrived together and perfectly served

Great food, drinks and awesome ice cream 🍦

Quieter than the waterfront venues, more space and a relaxing vibe

Well worth visiting, try their strawberry ice cream ❤

Had brunch here with another family. Very friendly service, fast to get our meals and food was amazing. Lots to choose from on menu and kids options were great. Nestled under a fiddle leaf fig tree enjoying the beautiful breeze. Has been our favourite place to dine so far in this area.

Great little Cafe. I had the egg and bacon roll which was delicious. The bread was soft and sweet, the bacon was crispy, and the egg was fresh. There was no table service so we had to order at the counter, but the food came out very quickly.

Great breakfast spot in Bargara! Lovely sitting outside underneath the trees. It was very busy however, we were able to secure a seat within 5 minutes and food within 20 of sitting down. Food was brilliant and would recommend having the protein stack!

Without a doubt THE BEST brekkie I’ve ever had! Pumpkin, macadamia crumb, rocket, goats cheese… I added toast on the side which I felt it needed for the crunch… works with bacon too (I stole a bit from my partners plate to try with it)

Not the cheapest but menu has a good variety of go including vegetarian, vegan options and kids menu. Ordered the corn fritter which was as tasty as it looked. Corn fritter was nice and crunchy. Nice setting. Friendly staff. Lots of cakes on display each day for 5.95$ a slice.
