Had a really fun experience doing fruit picking! Mandarins were very juicy and fresh, you have to search a bit to pick the big ones. Also had other fruit like lemons, limes, kumquats and chestnuts.

Make sure you bring cash! It’s $10 for small bucket or $20 for large bucket, and each adult must purchase a bucket to enter. Farm was huge and easy parking.

Watkins family farm is such a great place for a day out with the family, we visit at least once a year, friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere with amazing tasting mandarins, they have both sweet and sour.
Also some lemons 🍋 available to pick.
Lots of room to sit and have lunch/ picnic and room for kids to run around. They have animals that you can feed.
They have fresh eggs and honey that can be purchased.
Overall such a great day.

We did a mini road trip from Sydney with our toddler to do some mandarin picking and had a great time. Our son loved feeding the sheep, watching the chickens and running around between the pretty mandarin trees. Mark guided us on what to do and encouraged us to taste-test the fruit to see which trees had the best fruit which was a fun challenge. Ann helped us juice some of our mandarins after for a great thirst-quencher. Overall, great service and an unique and fruitful experience :) Looking forward to our next visit.

Today we had a very happy experience with our families in the Watkins Farm.
It's a place where friends and families can get memorable moments. Ample parking space, dining area and toilets are a big plus. Additionally the team is flexible to help. The small mandarins
are delicious... Thank You Team

Lovely farm. Owners and everyone there were wonderful and welcoming.
The mandarins were delicious, a bit small but that's understandable as there was flooding the previous year.
Loved the little tricks that were given when it came to picking the fruit.
We also purchased some honey there 🍯.
It's always one of our favourite fruit picking places.

I always love going to Watkins Family Farm each year during mandarin season. Mark, the owner was pleasant and welcoming. The Hickson mandarins were yummo. The honey was so good that the children want me to drive down next weekend to buy some more.

We had a wonderful day picking mandarins and visiting the farm animals with our family. The orchard was beautiful, and the weather was perfect. The kids loved feeding the sheep and chickens, and we all had a great time exploring the farm.

We started our day by picking mandarins. The trees were laden with fruit, and we were able to pick as many as we wanted. The kids had a blast running around and picking mandarins, and we all enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine.

After we picked mandarins, we visited the animals. There were only sheep and chickens, but the kids loved feeding them. There were toilets available, but we recommend bringing some water with you.

We ended our day by having a picnic lunch in the orchard. We ate our lunch at a picnic table under the trees, and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the farm. It was a perfect day, and we all had a great time.

Great place for mandarin picking and for a time off from Sydney. We enjoyed our time there. Ann was very kind and we had a long talk about their connectivity issues. Mandarins are sweet and cute. There is a picnic area to bring your own food and even cook if you prefer to. Loved the experience! A great family business to support. Thanks Ann & Mark.

Please do not waste the fruits here. Bucket Prices were hiked up because of inconsiderate visitors wasting fruits while picking up. Please be mindful of the parking as they are understaffed hence the vehicle owner must be responsible for the correct parking.
Please avoid parking in sandwich method as this causes inconvenience for the vehicles parked in between. I asked few owners not to do that but they did not seem to care.
Tip 1: Please arrive there as early as possible to avoid the chaos.
Tip 2: Please check all the rows by going in them. We were under the impression that there are no fruits but were surprised when we found there were trees literally untouched. So walk in the rows and get surprised.
Tip 3: Please pick one mandarin fruit from a tree to determine the sweetness or sourness according to your taste. Sometimes the fallen fruit is much sweeter as they were already ripe. It can reduce the waste.

Wonderful orchard to visit with family and kids. It is 152 km far away from Newcastle. Very delicious fresh mandarins. You can eat as you want. They sell two type of bucket – large ($20) and small bucket ($10). Please bring cash with while visiting farm because they don’t accept card payments. Ample car parking and public toilet facility. Also bring your own bag for carrying mandarins and bring your picnic food. The Watkins family members and staff are very friendly and cooperative. Opening hour 10am to 3pm. Highly recommend this place for all aged people.

Magnificent citrus farm nestled above the Hawkesbury River. Great variety of mandarins, lemons and limes when in season; cash only but very inexpensive and a fun family day trip , often very busy , so plan to go early and wear shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy.

These guys accept cash only. I’m a millennial and I have stopped carrying cash for 3 years now. Luckily I have 10 dollars in my pocket as emergency.

I told the guys that we drove 1.5 hours to get here and we don’t have cash other than what’s left in my pocket - a measly $10. The guys let us (4 adults) in! Thank you!

Contrary to what people were saying, there were no “security” harassing us in the farm.

My family (from overseas) enjoyed there stay at the farm.

Thanks so much Watkins family farm. Highly recommended!

It's a nice drive to Watkins farm, along the Hawkesbury river. Last 1.3 kms is through unpaved road, but it isn't that bad. There is ample space for parking.
To enter the farm, every adult has to buy a bucket. It's $20 for big bucket and $10 for small. It's cash only, so carry $$$ with you. The toilet was probably built recently and was clean. There were also farm animals which you can feed by paying $1.
Note: You won't get anything to eat there. Pack your own food if you plan to go there around lunch time.

Overall, it's a good experience for the kids to pick mandarin and run around.

This is the family private mandarine orchard in Wisemans Ferry. Traveling hours less than 1 hour from Castle Hill NSW, I enjoyed a driving while I was going to the orchard there is beautiful nature and I loved foggy morning even around 10 am. As you know there is the river flooring in Wisemans Ferry, the huge water making the foggy covers the bush around the areas. The orchard is so big, however, if you arrive there after 11:30am, you should wait for a while to enter the carpark area and the orchard as well which means there are a lot of people visit even in the morning quite busy midst of the mountain. You can’t access 3 or 4G and phone call. You can choose to hire two types of the buckets for picking the mandarine, there is for kids and adults then you can pick and fill as much as you can within the size of the bucket. I couldn’t believe the number of mandarines hanging on the tree. The Watkins family members managed themselves the hospitality and the service for the visitors. The taste is between middle and high quality, very fresh. I highly recommend for all age groups. I spent around 1 -1.5 hours there. Don’t forget to bring picnic food, I had lunch in the park near the river in the main town.

Nice place to enjoy picking mandarin, the place and the view is nice, just get on bucket and tou can pick madarin by yourself. the only minus points are the parking issue and the road to go to the farm is quite narrow... Arrive after 12pm is have to find a spot for parking and the line for waiting to get a park spot is may be 1 hour long, asides from this anything else is fantastic.

Excellent place for easy access to Mandarin picking, Huge amounts of fruits, and many rows. Pleasant view of driving towards the farm. There is no internet reception, though, and only cash payment. No eftpos

Not far away from Sydney, only about 1 hour drive. We had so much fun coming lemon/lime picking. Wasn’t really mandarin season yet, apparently another 2 months.

The road down to the farm is slightly windy/bumpy but even our Corolla made it. Also very narrow, so please drive carefully.

Price per bucket is fair and considering the money goes straight to the farm and the damage the flood had done, I was more than happy to support.

Bring your own food/water if staying long.

A great farm to visit for Mandarin and lime picking in May/July. They are very friendly and wonderful place to take family. Try to get there early as road can get congested due to narrow road in a few spots.

The owners are very friendly and welcoming! It's a huge farm with over 1000 trees... We picked imperials, cumquats, blood oranges, grape fruits and lemons... The kids had a great time and so did we!
