Wisemans Ferry Park Reserve

Went for a day trip exploring western Sydney and stumbled across Wiseman's Ferry Park Reserve. Incredibly clean and well maintained. Such a great spot to spend a day enjoying the peace and quiet by the river. Plus there's a cafe nearby which does good coffee and a few food options like pies, toasties etc.
I would absolutely visit this amazing little village again soon.

First time to visit. Found that there is a FREE ferry ride that takes you back and forth. Where in Australia is there such a thing?? Thanks for this arrangement; my road tax is being used wisely! Great park, plenty of parking. Bring your own picnic unless you want to spend premium on ordinary food. BBQ available but I didn't use. Toilets available but someone did a thing which was unpleasant. Go prepared - great place to relax.

Boating this area is quite pleasant ~ but to visit the Wisemans Ferry Park Picnic Ground is also pleasant and nice.. recently took a short drive [again] to the park for a nice picnic lunch looking west up the Macdonald River. We took everything ~ Table, chairs of comfort, food items, coffee & cake. Being mid week the park wasn't busy and being somewhat west close to the play area was very quiet which was good ~ may be somewhat noisy at other times. The weather was at its' best. Initially wanted to setup looking at the ferry but couldn't find a suitable area but this spot was 10x better as it turned out. Only 1 boat passed us zooming past [bringing back memories of coming here by boat]. The grounds were neat and tidy with plenty of bins ~ including recycling ~ so no excuse there!
(On another visit for lunch we visited Busby's Cafe Restaurant which I highly recommend [see review] ~ When it re-opens).

Wisemans Ferry Park on beautiful Hawkesbury River has an excellent picnic area with a children's playground. Wisemans Ferry services is the oldest and free of tolls. Must visit place.

Great place to take the kids' fishing, free bbq's , epic kids' parks, great scenery, and friendly people. And a good fish.

Beautiful and relaxing place away from busy city.

Wisemans Ferry Park is a beautiful place to spend time having a picnic with the family. A small takeaway store to grab a coffee or an ice-cream is conveniently located in the park. Recent flooding events have devastated the park unfortunately but I'm sure this will be cleared in the coming weeks or months. Photos attached show the current state of so you know what to expect for now until it's returned to it's former glory.

Very beautiful place to visit. Kids have access to a park and there is plenty of shaded/unshaded tables as well.

Maybe we were lucky but the place was lovely and quiet when we went. Tail end of school holidays. Pram friendly in large. Nice historic walk across the ferry. Stunning scenery.

A peaceful park, there is a kiosk, public toilet, playground, river and Bbq area. In the weekend, there is not enough carpark space due to many visitors. If you bring some food for the picnic would be a great idea.

Great little town friendly locals and great pub. Only 40 or so minutes from the rat race, But feels like it's a thousand miles from it.

Really nice spacious park with great climbing equipment and good views of the river. Some really nice spots to sit down and relax at, and also good facilities such as toilets and sometimes a cafe kiosk. If you can find a clear night also great for stargazing

Fully renovated area after 2022 flood. BBQ and playground. Family and pet friendly area.

This is another one of those great gems within an hour of sydney. Brilliant drive and that ferry crossing is a novelty. There is a large park to picnic as well.

The park down at Wisemans ferry is the perfect spot for a break after a scenic drive getting there. The kiosk near the ferry has some options for lunch, drinks and basic hot take-away food.
There are several picnic tables so you can always bring your own food and make a great day out in the park.
There is plenty of space in the park to bring the kids and play games. It is a popular place and can get a bit crowded.
The park is still in a bit of a mess after the recent flooding. Sand and debris on the grass. Council and the community are working hard to clean up and make the place better.

It’s a nice place to relax. It’s the place close to ferry, also can see the meeting place of MacDonald River and Hawkesberry river. Lots of activities for kids and BBQs, also have good space for some small fun sport activities.
