Kentish Hills Retreat

Enjoyed our two night stay at Kentish Hill retreat. Great town to stay if traveling to Cradle Mountain. The main room was very spacious and the bedroom a good size two. Kids loved the bunk beds. The place is located just at the end of the Main Street of town. Owners have a couple of Apacas and the kids loved that we were able to feed (free and provided by the owners at reception). Full Kitchen amenities were simple but good enough to cook dinner. We were given two little bottles and of milk too which is was helpful for cereal in the morning.

The property was very clean and had all that we needed for our stay.
We enjoyed our picnic on the lawn watched by the Alpacas.
We would certainly recommend this property for anyone visiting the beautiful township of Sheffield.

Kids enjoyed feeding the Alpacas. Family owned and operated. The people were really friendly and nice. Kentish is a small town. We would definitely recommend staying here for people visiting the cradle mountain area.

Tidy 3 star Motor Inn. Walking distance to town. Guest laundry. Weak wifi. Seems to be a base for workers in the area so a bit noisy during our stay. Great base for Cradle Mountain - 50 minutes drive. Very friendly managers. Would stay again.

Arrived at Kentish Hills Retreat Sheffield before getting dark, so we have time to feed alpacas. The host is very kind and supportive. He gave me very fresh milk and alpaca food. They're so cute.
Host also guide the way and recommedned cafe opened early morning because we have a morning flight.
Easy to check out here. Just left a key in room and keybox at reception.

I loved my stay here. The owners are really nice, I happened to do something which most hotels would have charged me later on, but they simply said don't worry! It was a lovely stay here, nice sized rooms, amazing countryside views from the room! The town centre is just a minutes drive away! Would love to be back again, hopefully for pleasure (instead of a business trip!)

Very friendly staff. Nice spacious room in a secluded spot with allocated parking. We got real milk in the fridge (not UHT) - amazing. It's far enough away from the main street that there isn't any noise from people

The outdoor grounds are very lush and well manicured / nice place to have a bbq and a drink. The check in process with the lady was very welcoming and she gave lots of brochures about where to visit (thank you!). The laundry is available and comfortable beds. The bathroom was renovated with a jacuzzi. Highly recommend.

This is by far one of the cleanest, neatest and well serviced motels I have ever stayed at. Debbie the owner is so kind and takes a lot of pride in what she offers. I have travelled all over Australia and some parts of the world and Kentish Hills Retreat is the cleanest place I have ever been to. After an incredibly long day, driving, hiking, taking photos, all you want to do is come back to your accommodation and relax. Kentish Hills absolutely offers that. I even met and spoke to the cleaners the next morning as I was packing to leave and they were lovely ladies who also take a lot of pride in the cleanliness of the motel. My recent trip to Tassie has been been made even better by staying at such well appointed, neat and tidy accommodation. Thank you. I will be back to stay when I am next in Tassie. The facility even has a laundry and it is only $2.00 a wash? How is that for service? If Sheffield is your destination, Kentish Hills is the only place to stay.

Brilliant staff, very friendly and will happily career to ones needs in reason... A nice comfy warm room, and we will certainly be staying again is we need to. What's better is with it behind on the edge of town, is nice and quiet yet only seconds from food, shopping, facilities that you want or need.

At the outskirts of Sheffield. Near farm, only 300m out of town centre. Heard cows mooing. Gracious host went out of her way to point out points of interest for me.

Fantastic staff, Francis and Debbie were so friendly and very helpful. The room was so clean and was well set up with everything you need Lovely quiet area to stay not far from the main part of town.

Good value for money. Tidy spacey room with everything you need. Bbq area outside. Beautiful surrounding area, so well looked after with fruit trees, flowers and a pond with mini waterfall, water lilies and fish in it.
Town is 600m away with all shops and cafes.
Owners are living onsite so no problem with late check in: -)

Very spacious rooms and nice service. Clean toilet and shower. Towels are very soft unlike some others. Quiet place if you just want to relax.

Don't forget to greet Toby, the gorgeous friendly dog, in reception when you check in, and give him a pat on checkout too. 😁
