We booked a table for a group of 5 and found the atmosphere and service excellent. The entrées were delicious. The mains were cooked perfectly and were hot. None of us had any issues with the meals and would recommend the Shanghai Teahouse to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

We have eaten here many times. The food is sensational. We have almost worked our way through the entire menu and never had a bad meal. 2 of our favourites are the prawn and coriander dumplings and the sizzling honey pepper chicken.
Can really recommend this restaurant

Shanghai Teahouse in Port Adelaide is criminally under-rated.

The food, service, presentation and quality is outstanding in all aspects.

Our dinner tonight was no exception.

Chicken Satay Skewers which are average size, but the taste is amazing.
Steamed Pork Buns, with the sweet soft and puffy bread, and the marinated and tender pork filling in between.
Pan-Fried Pork Dumpings (The Fan Favourite), which paired with their Chili Oil and Soy Sauce is amazing. On par for some of the best dumplings I've had in a Chinese Restaurant.
Chicken Cashew with Onions and Capsicum, the Chicken was cooked to perfection, tender, tasty. My only personal qualm is that the sauce is quite gravy like, however my companion loved this aspect.
Special Fried Rice, ..man, there's not much to say. If you want SPECIAL Fried Rice, and I mean special as in fantastic.. then you've got to try the special fried rice.

This is just one example of the weekly dine-ins that me and my partner regularly do at Shanghai Teahouse in Port Adelaide.

The Honey Chicken is incredible, always cooked to perfection, hot and sauced to just the right amount.

I believe Shanghai Teahouse in Port Adelaide does not get the credit it deserves for a Chinese Restaurant in the Western Suburbs. However, keep that in mind for your last minute dining decisions.
There are always spare tables, staff are generally always catering, the service is normally always prompt and friendly, and the wait times are average for a freshly cooked meal.

The prices are on the pricier side for Chinese Food, although as the famous saying goes - you get what you pay for, and that is truthful.

I have not experienced Take-away from this establishment, however my many dining experiences can assume that they'd hold up to a solid quality in all aspects.

Took a slightly longer time to prepare the dishes, but they are all hot and steaming like fresh out of steamer. So I won’t complaint about that. Like their ice green lemon tea 🫖 and the prawn dumplings. Slightly little in the size of the dish.

We stopped randomly for Tea for the need to break up a 2 hour drive to the country for our little one. So glad we pulled over when we did and uncovered this absolute gem! The food? Amazing. The service? So friendly and welcoming. It was cosey and family friendly. The portion sizes were spot on and all the staff were so lovely. We will definitely be back! Thank you Shanghai Teahouse for a lovely meal and experience today ❤

Went here for the first time, bit apprehensive because it was empty but it was a bit early. All I can say is amazing food and service. Price is very affordable as well. Definitely going back here when I'm in town.

Came for lunch alone after morning shopping. Nice deco and friendly staff. The Jasmine tea was fresh and taste good. I had the steamed pork & prawn dumplings, deep fried stuffed crab claws and pan fried chicken bao buns. They were all yummy. For the bao bun which stuffed with chicken instead of minced pork(very common in pan fried bao buns) tasted better for me. Overall it’s a nice place to dine. Recommend!

Sensational food, great for lunch with the family on a Sunday. Best prawn dumplings and variety of teas in the Tea menu.

Ordered pickup from Shanghai teahouse in Port Adelaide last night. I have to say the food was very tasty. Special rice was fresh and tasty. Crispy beef while not that crispy was so tasty. More like Mongolia steak.satay chicken was really good and BBQ buns tasted yum although could have had a bit more meat in it. Will be ordering from there again..
