Excellent New Year event! A best ever experience with restaurant complementing night out at the pub. Value as good as it gets. Local hospitality with great food: What a feast of delectables, hospitality & quality people. Highly recommend to all demographics. Live music (2 bands pumping) knees-up, loud chat, learn the locale, a few brews/wines & the spirit is free. Thank you Bella (restaurant), Choppy (pub) & Gundaroo.

Truly friendly service at this great little pub & restaurant in Gundaroo. Well worth the 25 min drive, just outside of Canberra. There's a daily menu, but the specials board is not to be missed. Lots of BBQ fare, alongside the owners traditional polish options too. Where else can you find Pierogi in a pub! Brilliant!

A magnificent family friendly pub run by wonderful people and the quality of the food is way above that of your standard pub grub.

We have waited for months for the Gundaroo Pub to reopen and it was worth the wait. Jolly Miller cider on tap is my favourite. Local produced and a lovely dry semi still drop it is. Menu is standard pub fare. Tasty and reasonably priced. I must say I miss the culinary delights that Bella had introduced when she ran the kitchen. Apart from that this pub is a great alternative to the "cookie cutter" pubs of Canberra. Check it out, especially on a balmy spring or summer evening

Pretty wine bar in a very pretty town, I only bought a take away bottle of wine(cheapest was $20, but the place looked a great place to chill out and the food smelled amazing.

It's odd that TripAdvisor rates this restaurant very differently than Google - which we sadly relied upon for our choice of dinner venue tonight. In this case, the TA reviews seem much more accurate.

Just to put my complaint into some perspective: I do enjoy salty food, but we ended up with a seafood basket and fries that, without any request, had not only salt, but approximately four times more than I can handle.

Why do their kitchen staff assume diners want A) salt at all, and/or B) exceptionally excessive quantities of salt? If I order a coffee, and we don't discuss sugar, should I expect the barista to add 3 or 4 sugars? No. So why this strange and unprofessional behaviour?

My Asian wife couldn't eat the Asian Slaw. It just didn't taste nice.... it was simply chopped cabbage with some garlic slivers. Neither of us know what was Asian about it.

In an attempt to rescue the situation, we were offered a replacement meal, but as we had already made our way through enough oily, salty seafood and fries for one evening, the whole event was surprisingly a poor decision, so they offered complementary dessert, which was accepted. A hint to the kitchen; try a scoop of ice cream with the sticky date pudding (vanilla...) instead of canned whipped cream.

Bar and restaurant staff were doing a great job. I would go back for another beer and that lovely cider, but certainly eat elsewhere.

No longer Matt Crows wine bar, nor the Gundaroo Colonial Inn. New leasee, name and menus. Suggest this is updated to reflect.
