A very lovely man. Patient and kind. Happy to answer all of my son's anxious questions during our two visits prior to surgery in a professional and clear manner. The day of the surgery we knew exactly what to expect and were very pleased with the care and attention received at the Memorial Hospital.
We found all of the reception staff at Dr Kirby's rooms very professional and clear with information and instructions and we find them to be friendly and pleasant to deal with.

Dr Kirby is a brilliant and kind surgeon who took the time to answer my many questions and was very sweet to my little one. His reception staff are also professional and warm - efficient as well as patient with questions. Thank you to the lovely team.

Late review after 1 full year of having our baby boy ,but dr Kirby gets 5 stars from me, procedure was quick and aftercare service was great being able to send picture and get quick answers for piece of mind, very nice bloke and professional at what he does

To be honest, I’m really surprised to read any negative reviews. We initially saw Dr Kirby after wanting a second opinion (as we were not quite satisfied with advice and procedures conducted by a different specialist interstate who wouldn’t give us the time of day to explain anything). Since then we have seen Dr Kirby a couple of times for our second child, and we are impressed with the level of service we have received.

It is quite evident that Dr Kirby is equipped with a high level of expertise and knowledge, and that he genuinely cares about children. Would definitely recommend.

Needed some surgery for our son and very short noticed called one afternoon and we’re booked in at 845 the following morning reception staff were exceptional and very helpful, Dr Kirby was great explaining what was going to happen and what to do after, very quickly done and explained everything. Definitely would recommend his services to anyone who needs this done. Very very happy thanks again to all involved!

Receptionist isn't rude...as previous comment mentioned..just very straightforward and very clear on information provided it may be her voice ...abit like when my mum tells me to smile and I think I am haha..i felt comfortable after my call

Im a very paranoid first time mum...
I was so questioning wheather or not to even get this done in the first place, let alone choosing who to do it, but I did.
I chose Dr.Kirby based on his experience.
After it was done, I didn't know what I was looking at, so I sent pictures and messages everyday after asking if "this and that were normal"...
Dr.Kirby was quick to respond to all of my follow up messages, even when he went to another timezone, his responses were quick and reassuring.
A lot of these reviews made me question if he would be wright for my boy, but im glad we went to him.

My son saw Dr kirby 3years ago for an emergency. Was a tricky surgery so we were happy to have him doing it after speaking with him and getting all the facts. No issues after surgery and will be seeing him again with our next son. He was genuine and communicated very well to my partner, son and I.

I have no idea how he has 3.7!! He deserves 5 stars! He is a very direct doctor and is very clear about everything he is going to do. Whenever I had a concern he replied immediately! You won’t go wrong going to Dr. Kirby

Good surgeon, made my son feel comfortable about having a circumcision and has healed great.

I will never forget this doctor as my son is alive and well due to him taking such a good care of him in 2005. The surgery and the support this doctor gives you after is simply amazing. If I can give him a 10 stars I would. Thank you Dr .Kirby

I was extremely dissatisfied with my recent experience speaking to the receptionist at this clinic over the phone regarding a sensitive procedure for my child.

The conversation left me appalled and frustrated with the lack of professionalism displayed by this staff member.

When I called to inquire about the process, the receptionist I spoke with was incredibly dismissive and had a rude tone throughout the conversation.

Instead of providing me with information and guidance, she seemed annoyed and rushed, maybe she doesn’t agree with the procedure but guess what the Dr that pays your salary provides the service!

It is important to note that the procedure can be a sensitive and personal topic for many families.

As a concerned parent, I expected to receive thoughtful and compassionate support from this representative of the clinic.

Unfortunately, this receptionist seemed completely lacking in empathy and failed to understand the importance of providing accurate and helpful information to parents seeking advice and guidance.

This interaction has left me feeling annoyed and has raised doubts about the overall quality of care provided at the clinic.

As a parent, it is essential for me to feel supported and confident in the medical advice I receive for my child.

Such unprofessional conduct from a staff member raises serious concerns about the standards and values upheld by your clinic as a whole.

I strongly urge that this receptionist receive proper training on effective communication, empathy, and sensitivity towards patients and their families. A welcoming and respectful environment is vital when seeking medical care, especially in sensitive matters.

Needlesss to say, I will be visiting an alternative clinic and I will not be recommending your clinic to others based on this negative experience.

The receptionist is super rude and non-cooperative to start with . Doctor came in the lobby where you wait and assessed my daughter in 2 secs in front of other patients . Did not explain nothing . Took her away away for tongue tie snip and gave her back to me in next 10 seconds . Did not mention any exercise or care .
Apparently it wasn’t released fully and we are again were we started. Had he taken his time to assess properly and do his job properly which clearly he didn’t as it didn’t work , we would be in bette replace .

If I could give 0 stars I would! We were referred to Dr Kirby by my local GP for a tongue tie release. Firstly the receptionist is rude. She just stared at us while we waited at the locked door. After we were let in (mind you I had to call to let them know we were there, even though she was staring at me whilst on the phone to me!) She rudely said she couldn't really get to the phone whilst she was booking appointments. I get that, but not even a smile or gesture to acknowledge we were there!
No information was freely given. I'm certain if I had not asked 101 questions he would not have said a word to me. The procedure was over and done with in about 5 minutes. I certainly feel he was in it for the quick buck and did not generally care about myself or my son. As a first time mum it was confronting and just an overall horrible experience. Do not go here if you are wanting a little compassion or even just information on what you are having done.

My wife took my son for an appointment today with Dr Kirby and she came home feeling very upset at the way she was treated. Dr Kirby does not have very good communication skills and comes across as very arrogant, for a first time mother she was asking a lot of relevant questions and the she felt that Dr Kirby was speaking down to her as if she was putting her own interests before our sons.

Overall he might be a good surgeon but he really needs to work on his interpersonal skills.
