The Ridge House - Gippsland Getaway

The Ridge House is beautifully nestled in the hills of Yarragon. Exquisitely appointed. The house is tastefully decorated, has the feel of country luxury. Kitchen well sent up and our welcome package was perfect.

What a find! I’ve been wanting to stay here ever since I read the article about the property in the Country Life magazine and it did not disappoint. Kristy is a very friendly, helpful and responsive host. The house is beautiful and comfortable and the environment is stunning. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind, especially in front of a roaring fire. We purchased dinner for our arrival night and loved it. The apple and rhubarb crumble was a real treat. Yarragon is a lovely little town which had everything we needed. Only one hour’s drive from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, this has to be one of the best accommodation options in beautiful Gippsland . The four course lunch at nearby Hogget Kitchen was also absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely return as soon as we can.

We loved our stay at the Ridge House. It was filled with memorable moments made special by our lovely host, Kristy. The location is perfect, surrounded by nature, and wildlife. The aesthetic of the house is beautiful, with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, and a kitchen that is equipped with everything. Kristy provided first day breakfast provisions from locally sourced businesses, which we loved! This is the perfect Gippsland getaway!

We recently stayed 5 nights at The Ridge House - the perfect Gippsland Getaway! My family of 7 flew in from WA for my son's wedding and we were so happy we chose Kristy's beautiful home. Ridge House is perfectly located near the town of Yarragon, a beautiful peaceful location with incredible views overlooking lush green hills and canopies of tall trees. Inside the home had everything you could possibly need, very stylishly designed and decorated with the warmth of open fire places, super comfortable beds with linen sheets and warm doona's, a very well appointed kitchen. Thank you again Kristy for the delicious breakfast and goodies that welcomed us on our arrival. My family will be visiting Melbourne often now and this is and will be the only place to stay.

Last weekend our family had a relaxing weekend away at The Ridge House. Kristy has very accomodating in answering our questions and ensuring our stay was comfortable. On Saturday night after cooking a roast dinner (the kitchen has everything!) we enjoyed the cozy lounge room with the crackling fireplace, and the sounds of rain on the roof. We saw some eagles and a kangaroo and the kookaburras that love to sit on the fence line at the front of the property were very welcoming! Kristy has put a lot of work into the property and has created a beautiful relaxing haven. Thank you Kristy !

Love this place! The Ridge House Airbnb provides the most relaxing atmosphere in the middle of a tranquil property. Views were stunning and the house provided a much needed digital detox. The hosts were excellent. They were super helpful in suggesting a number of great activities/dining experiences throughout Gippsland, not to mention the food provided was so fresh and flavourful. Can't recommend this place enough.

A weekend away at The Ridge House is the perfect antidote to a busy week. It is peaceful and relaxing from the moment you arrive; the house is cozy and comfortable, Kristy is an incredibly accommodating and helpful host and the welcome dinner is the perfect way to begin your getaway!

We were a group of seven and there was plenty of space for us to spend time together, and some great spots for us to hide away with a glass of wine and a book when we wanted some downtime. The walking tracks on the property are a must and there are some wonderful local markets and towns to explore. If you are looking for great accommodation in Gippsland, this is the one!!

The Ridge house is perfect for a luxurious while cosy time away in the country. Every detail in the house and surrounds has been thought of. The house is very tastefully decorated, and the views are wonderful. Whether curling up by the fire, going for a bush walk or chatting for friends, this place is perfect. We ordered the meal on arrival and the cheese platter which were delicious. The platter lasted all weekend. Cannot recommend enough!

We stayed at The Ridge House for our ‘micro wedding’ Kristy was AMAZING to deal with, kept in touch on a regular basis, helped with sourcing external catering quotes etc.
We were welcomed with a wedding gift from Kristy which blew us away.
The house and the views were breathtakingly beautiful. Oh and the honey!! So delicious!!
We are and will continue to recommend this property as a getaway to friends and family. Along with hoping to return ourselves for our anniversaries.

Such a beautiful place. Beds are comfy, bathrooms clean and everything is styled so well.
Lots of fire wood for the indoor fireplaces and great kitchen with all the basics, so you can make food for large groups.
Had the option for dinner and dessert on arrival so you don't have to worry about preparing much for the first night.
Cute little Easter treats also provided, see photos.

The photos advertising The Ridge House are beautiful, but they really don’t do it justice. The house was very stylish and comfortable for our group, with all the amenities you’d expect from a fully serviced offering. It wasn’t until our first morning that we fully realised how impressive the House is; with the fog and mist subsiding, we got to completely appreciate the incredible location of the property with ~300 degree views from the deck. Affordable, very comfortable and convenient, and an extremely impressive property - highly recommended. We booked our next trip before we even left!

We loved our stay at this luxury country accommodation in this special part of Gippsland. High on the ridge, overlooking the township of Yarragon, the surrounding bush land and wildlife was the perfect get away from city. Our host Kristy ensured we were well equipped for a relaxing week away, including; delicious food and goodies on arrival, a prepared dinner, short drives to explore the region, best places to visit and eat and a space to wind down. Highly recommend this accommodation and we will be back.

We visited in mid Autumn for a romantic weekend getaway and we loved every moment.

As avid travellers, we have stayed in a huge range of accommodation, and we can say with hand on heart that The Ridge House is an exceptional stay.

What sets this place apart is the soul and effort that Kristy pours into ensuring your stay is an excellent one, like booking us a table for lunch at a fab local restaurant and sending us relevant recommendations.

We love the carefully curated local produce such as freshly laid eggs and salad from their market garden, next door. [Promoting local produce is something Tasmanians do SO well, and we are thrilled to see more of this in our home state!]

Very glad we opted for the arrival dinner and cheese platter too, both delightful to look at and delicious to eat. Highly recommended.

The roaring fire and well equipped amenities make the house a lovely and cosy place to relax. The autumnal red of the ornamental grapes over the pergola, set against the backdrop of rural views for miles, absolutely to die for, no matter the weather. Loved hanging out with resident guinea fowl, George, and the family of wallabies too.

The house worked well for just the two of us (as the other half can be closed off). We would also love to come back with a group of friends next time!

Our second visit of many more to come. Coming down the driveway to The Ridge House was like returning home. Took my own advice and stayed for 3 nights this time and felt truly revived with the fresh country air and relaxation in this gorgeous place. This weekend’s highlights were my morning cuppa tucked up in bed looking out over the magnificent view and cozy fireside wine and chats with friends.

They Ridge House is pure bliss. From the moment you enter the property you know you are in a special place. The welcoming local produce, including a very considerate GF sourdough, to the beautifully styled interiors and exceptionally well equipped kitchen. Then there are the views! So beautiful and peaceful. We loved our sunset evening drink and reflections from the lookout. We had quality family time in a high quality property. Thank you Kristy for taking care of us and for your generosity. This is a must go place.

We had an amazing long weekend at this fabulous house in Gippsland. With all the comforts of home, nothing has been left out. Comfortable beds, quality linen, amazing styling, beautiful furnishings. An arrival gift of freshly baked bread and homemade jam was just one of the added touches. An amazing fireplace to relax by, with amples of firewood cut and ready for us. It was exceptionally clean and very well stocked with everything we could have needed. Thankyou Kristie for an amazing stay. I really hope to get back for another relaxing getaway soon! Can not recommend this house highly enough. One of the best AirBnBs I’ve stayed in!

You couldn't ask for a more beautiful house in such a peaceful location. Everything you could need has been thought about. From the beautiful fresh supplies waiting for us on arrival, to the great local suggestions, wonderful amenities throughout the house, a couple of fires ready to be lit and lots of games to keep us entertained, we had the most beautiful and relaxing week. The viewing platform was a lovely touch and the bush walks straight outside the front door were great. Definitely the most stylish house we've stayed in and the most thoughtful hospitality. The Ridge House is somewhere I would definitely recommend to stay! Perched on a ridge above Yarragon in West Gippsland, the views over the valley are spectacular. The highlight of our stay was sitting at the loggers lookout at sunset as the sky turned pink. We were also very impressed by the fit-out of the home (great linens, quality furnishings, lots of useful kitchen equipment, etc). Clearly the owner has put a lot of thought into creating a relaxing rural stay experience.

The Ridge house is an absolutely exceptional country getaway for weary Melbourne folk. Location is perfect only an hour and a bit but the setting is pure nature. The house is perched on a ridge with truly magnificent rural views and gorgeous wildlife to share it with. Kristy gets full marks for her design style having recently done a beautiful top to toe renovation. The house is also filled with arty nick nacks mostly from local artisans, it's charming, comfortable yet polished! Do yourself a favour and book a few nights so you can explore the local area as well as relax. There is lots to do or nothing. We loved walking to the lookout with a bottle of wine and some snacks to watch the sun set. Also curling up by the fire with a good book. Kristy also offers yummy add ons, I would recommend the dinner in and local cheese platter with local wine so you can arrive, settle in and enjoy the tranquility. Highly recommended and well done Kristy!

Our stay at The Ridge House was well beyond our expectations and was one of the best experiences we've ever had. Although it was just my partner and I, we loved the separation between the rooms offering a range of different experiences; from a cosy corner to snuggle up and watch movies in, to a larger lounge room for board games and glorious naps, to a corner to read a book and have a drink or two in and a dining space for a good feast - perfect for an escape with your other half or with a group of mates. The house is beautifully styled and thoughtfully stocked to provide every imaginable comfort, from a well equipped kitchen to excess cushions and rugs for both inside and outside uses, lifestyle magazines and cookbooks throughout the house to flip through, board games, candles and local guides. One of our favourite touches were the eco-friendly products that were dotted around the house, as well as homewares and artwork by local artists on display. On top of that, we were welcomed with a counter top full of locally sourced produce providing us breakfast and goodies for the next few days. Our host Kristy was warm, welcoming and friendly and offered a home cooked dinner on our first night which we definitely recommend! Lastly, we can't forget the stunning views and private bushlands we were surrounded by and waking up to the peaceful sounds of rustling treetops, birdlife and being greeted by George, the resident guinea fowl, every morning, sometimes with his wallaby friends. The Ridge House is a gem and we are already planning on coming back!
