Mt Moornapa Wines

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Lakes Entrance from Melbourne. This winery is not like your other Victorian winery, the wine tasting is being conducted underground where you can see the storage of wines. It reminds us of our experience in Europe.

On their website, it stated that wine tasting is only available on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. However, you can just phone Peter and he will try his best to accommodate to his best. He has a special grape called Traminer. It has a floral and sweet smelling, but a dry tasting. We can't help ourselves but to buy half a dozen of them with his Shiraz.

What an amazing experience. Peter welcomed us in and showed us around his unique and charming property that he built himself. The underground cellar was a great surprise, and Peter generously offered a variety of wines. Our favourite was the Shiraz. Stunning views and interesting stories, this winery is a rare find and well worth the visit.

Best wine East Gippsland! Beautiful tasting in a place that needs to be seen to be believed

Phenomenal wines served in a rustic bunker. Certainly not your stock standard winery in any sense. The owner, Peter, is lovely, knowledgeable and very hospitable. The wines are so so good and the quality should have demanded double it's actual price. It's off the beaten track but well worth a visit for real wine lovers.

It was so lovely to meet Peter and enjoy his very unique cellar door. His wines were lovely and well priced. Thanks so much Peter for your hospitality. Highly recommended to others in the area.

This quaint and beautiful little winery provided the perfect place for our wine tour of 13 people to go and taste a variety of wines and have a little picnic while we did so. Peter was a very great host, he is kind and very helpful while we were organising the event. The venue itself is simple and the cellar opens out onto a little patio which looks down upon the vineyards. Although being this simple it was a great backdrop for a picnic lunch while, with two fireplaces also adding to the ambience. Highly recommend this as part of a wine tour (very different and more homely than the larger vineyards nearby) or to visit and try some wines.

Such a unique experience. It was lovely to meet and speak to Peter. Very welcoming to us and our 2 dogs. Will be back again! Shiraz was our favourite.

We had a fantastic experience at Mt Moornapa. Peter was very generous and kind, we loved our tour of the facilities and enjoyed the Pinot noir when we got home. Highly recommend.

If you like stuff that are more happening in the fringe than the the standard operation, give this pace a visit. Chances are high you won’t be disappointed.

Our party of 7 had a great experience. Peter was very hospitable and it was a pleasure to attend the winery. Highly recommended for something different to do.
