I recently had a Coopers 'chunky beef' pie at Yarrawonga - I was blown away!!

it was so nice I seriously considered buying a second one but felt I wouldn't do either of them justice if I 'pigged out' then and there

So I compromised and bought 4 frozen pies to take with me for later

Ordinarily I would baulk at paying $7.50 for a meat pie but something told me to forget the price for once and see what I got - I don't regret it - well worth it

Flaky tasty pastry and LOTS of well cooked tender chunks of beef - minimal gravy (how long since you have had a 'meat' pie that wasn't awash with boring gravy and little to no real meat?)

BEST MEAT PIE I HAVE EVER EATEN !!!!

Had a pulled pork pie. Tasted good but was warm rather than hot. Didn't think it was worth the $8.50 price tag. Restaurant has the rustic charm feel, maybe a little too rustic. Male toilets absolutely stank. Checked for Non flushed toilets etc but they all looked clean to me so no idea where the stench was coming from!

Had the Waygu Beef and Beer pie, and it was reasonable tasty but it was a little too pricey for what it was. The hot sauce wasn't hot which was a little disappointing. Also ordered the salted caramel milkshake, which tasted like it was made from ice cream topping sauce. The restaurant doesn't have very good air conditioning and the staff weren't very attentive or helpful.

Nice flavors, pastry tastes home made. Service was a tad slow.

The venue has closed. Tame Cafe has replaced the Pie Shop.
