Amazing people that do so much to help the working dog breeds. I've been blessed to have been able to adopt two incredible dogs (heeler kelpie X and a kelpie X) through AWDRI. I will forever be grateful to them for these beautiful family members that they rescued.

Sadly, far too many working dog breeds end up getting re-homed, which I find absolutely inconceivable that people can do to them!! Dogs love you more than anything and they are for life. If you don't understand that concept, then move along and don't get a dog.

It's heartbreaking too that so many poor dogs get re-homed because people adopt these working dogs, without understanding what training etc is needed with working dog breeds. They are the most amazing and rewarding dogs, so faithful and loyal, but you have to do right by them and give them plenty of your time.

If you are serious about adopting a new family member, that you will include heavily in your life, then I highly recommend AWDRI. If you would ever consider re-homing a dog, for any reason, then please don't get a dog at all from any rescue group or breeder.

Such a great organisation that work so very hard for the rescue dogs and put in so much effort. We've had countless great experiences with AWDRI, fostering dogs from them and eventually adopting our own gorgeous working dog through them. Thanks for all your hard work and the love you have for rescuing those beautiful dogs!!!

We adopted Dougie, a male Kelpie x, 5 years ago and he has been a fantastic pet. The description and advice given to us by his foster family was spot on. We've put in a bit of work training him and exercising him regularly but have been well rewarded for the work put in. We love him! Thanks AWDRI.

These guys do a great job. They fact they assess the traits of working dog breeds they rescue to sort pets from workers is really important. It means families don't end up with potentially high energy dogs in their suburban backyards when they would be better working stock on a property. I know several people that have adopted through AWDRI, and I'm very pleased to support them.

We've adopted two dogs now from AWDRI and on both occasions were impressed at how professionally the organization is run and the amazing work that the volunteer foster parents do.

We received amazing insight and advice about the behavioral traits of each dog and both have become amazing parts of our family. We still keep in touch with the foster parents to give them updates on the adventures of Max and Polly.

What an amazing team! Their sole focus is on saving lives and I commend their strong stance on anti 'dog dumping' to raise awareness that a pet is for life. Their help to assist me in rehoming one of my foster dogs by listing her on their site led to her successful adoption and I am (we are all) forever grateful.

I adopted a pup from AWDRI nearly 7 years ago and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The care and dedication of this team is amazing. My dog is very much part of the family, love the working dog breed, so smart and loyal, so much fun all round. Rescue a dog today!

AWDRI is the best Rescue group I have encountered. It's fuelled by a team of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers and is led by two amazing people. I have witnessed first hand more times than I can count - the dedication and commitment this group has to rescuing working dogs and giving them a chance to live their best lives. It's a privilege to be a part of this team.

They do a great job saving dogs from death row and finding them a forever home. Next time I need to get another fur baby I will definitely contact them. Keep up the great work! Your dedication and work is continually needed for these unfortunate dogs!

We have had two wonderful adoptions through AWDRI - both gorgeous dogs, and it was so helpful knowing they'd been fostered so their temperaments were known. All their vet work had been done, and they had had some introduction to loving caring humans between their early, harder, life and landing with us as beloved family members. Thank you AWDRI!

This is such a wonderful organisation and I love what they do and what they are about. When you buy a dog it is for life and I appreciate that they go to such lengths to give these abandoned dogs a second chance to have the great life that they deserve. I will definitely be going through them in the future to adopt my next fur baby!

Staff and volunteers were wonderful to deal with - caring for both dogs and potential owners. We will definitely use their services again in the future. We are so very happy with our beautiful Mia who was perfectly matched to our family.

AWDR are amazing, they take in so many dogs in need, and have a brilliant network of foster carers and people who transport the dogs where they need to be for either care or vetting. If you are interested in being a foster carer they are also a great source of support and available for any questions you might have. Such a great service!

I contacted these guys quite some time ago when we needed some advice regarding our troublesome fur baby. They were absolutely amazing and pointed us in the right direction. They are dedicated to the dogs, and always endeavour to facilitate a perfect fit for both 2 and 4 legged friends. I thoroughly support the fantastic work they do.

We wish you the best of good luck for all your work , all your efforts and your dedication to those amazing creatures great and small. We will support you until we go to doggy Heaven to join all our loved companions because that is where we want to be!!!!

Amazing rescue organisation who we donate to every single year. They keep donors up to date with information about the dogs and puppies they are rescuing through a wonderful social media presence. They are supporting a special breed of dogs who often make wonderful pets but weren't cut out to be true working dogs.

Simply THE best rescue for the hundreds of working dogs left unclaimed or dumped at pounds in Australia. These dogs will be and are euthanized in alarming numbers were it not for AWDR and its volunteers all over the country going above and beyond to save them. Keep up the good work folks.

I can't speak highly enough of the work that Di and Carey Edwards and their team do to give these beautiful dogs a second chance with loving families. I have known them for many years and have followed their wonderful stories since we first fostered one of their dogs in Cairns. We have since adopted a new blue boy from them and we couldn't be happier with the way it all turned out. There is so much effort put into transporting the adopted babies. Our Benny was transported from NSW to country Victoria and we collected a happy, healthy puppy! Thank you Di and Carey! You are wonderful! Jenny and Rob Evans, Murrabit, Victoria
