Tamborine Mountain Country Markets

We had a wonderful time enjoying the market. The cool mountain breeze lifted the heat from the stifling day, and some vendors even had fans to keep us cool. We are visiting from NZ so could not buy from the many plant stores, but we did from almost everybody else. The quality of art, craftsmanship, and food products is as good, or better than, any other market I have been to, anywhere in the world. There were many different accents and nationalities and the true community spirit that small-town Australia is know for, was refreshing to see.
If you are on holiday in the Gold Coast or surrounds, make sure you come to this market for all your gifts.

14/4/23. The country markets are held in the showground on the 2nd Sunday of the month. Compared to other showgrounds sizes this one is only tiny looks like a big oval.
Getting close car congestion is a problem. There is limited parking on the site and plenty of parking along the main road if you are prepared to walk.
What fantastic markets. Everything we saw was hand or home made no mass produced Asian products here. A great selection of stands selling doggy products, honey, plants, jewellery, pottery, jams and chutneys, oils and balsamic vinegars, sweets, nuts, clothing and food stalls that’s what I can remember.
In the gazebo stage there is a singer performing where you can sit and enjoy while having a break.
What I really like was able to try all and I mean all the homemade products for sale. Nothing worse than buying something without trying it and finding out you don’t like it. So like this we spent a small fortune on nuts, honey, relishes. (Pics show some of what we purchased, we ate the rest)
Oh but boy are they good. Also purchased a set of hand made red salt and pepper barrels made of rose mahogany $59 with ceramic grinders not plastic. This lady sold beautiful wooden products.
There is a Green Shed where locally grown organic produce is sold but we walked there too late and there was almost nothing left.
These markets are definitely worth a visit and really shouldn’t be missed. We loved them!

Awesome market, well worth the trip to Tamborine. I was pleasantly surprised by the large number of stalls which you just don't see in other markets. There was a lot of terrific art, craft, foods, leather goods, garden art, furniture. It is also right next to an excellent fresh produce vendor. Lots of food options & live entertainment
Get there early if you want produce, they were closing at 11am the day I arrived.

The Green Shed.
Open every Sunday from 7am-1pm, the freshest produce, picked that morning. From Freshly baked breads, Vegetables, Fruits, Jams, Raw honey from local Beekerpers.
Get in early and say G'day to a local Framer.

Wonderful way to spend a Sunday up the mountain, great variety of stalls (artisan bakers,fresh produce, plants & unique wares ect)
Great all year but extra magical early mornings in colder months.

Plenty of stalls. Good food options. Live music. See the nut lady, her nuts are great.

Wide variety of goods for sale, including food suitable for vegetarians and vegans. The stallholders are friendly and tend to be up a chat about their wares. Organisers are very helpful.

Loved it, great atmosphere, good quality products. Can't wait to go again.

Go there just for the food! Fresh thin pizzas, bratwurst with sauerkraut, baked potatoes and the usual eclectic stalls you will not find elsewhere.

Amazing market. Had a German sausage on roll with sauerkraut and bacon from The ORIGINAL German sausage van AMAZING

Always something interesting and unique, but I really go for the German sausage 😋

Now opens every second Sunday of the month, 730am to 1pm. At least for now.

Just got here and nothing is happening (today is the first Sunday of the month)

These markets have a huge variety of food, crafts, plants, homemade jams, etc, enjoy walking around and seeing such array of products
