Port Stephens 4WD Tours

It was not a good weather when we arrived there tho the staff of the 4WD tours accomodate us and explained what will be our activity despite it was gloomy and raining. Ian was our guide tour on that day, he was so helpful and still gave us a bit of history of the sand dunes and the stockton beach. He drove us where he finds a place to stopped and walked around the seashore even its still raining and windy. We took some photos and he did it some for us, it was a nice photos. The best part was that we manage to do the sand boarding. We were soaking wet hahaha but we enjoyed it. Twas our first experienced sand boarding and I liked it. Definitely will come back with a good weather and recommend 4WD tours.

Such a great adventure with this business. My 6 year old son had the time of his life ☀ The whole team were friendly, professional and ensured our little one got a certificate at the end for sand boarding the hills. They provided shade and bottles of water for us all which was great for the hot day. It’s something we would do daily if we lived nearby. Thank you for the adventure 👍🏻

Such a fun experience! Kids had fun, we thought it was so worth the price to spend an afternoon exploring the dunes, taking in the view and atmosphere. It was raining lightly and we didn't even care. The drive on the beach afterwards was pretty magical too. Thanks to our tour guide, he was awesome.

Was amazed by the sights of the magnificent sand dunes, the clear blue waters of the sea at Birubi Beach. Our guide Craig is helpful and educational, telling us the history of the area, teaching us to find pipis in the beach and even pointing us to dolphins out in the sea! And of course the sandboarding! Surprisingly suitable for young children like my 6yo. Thanks Port Stephens 4WD Tours for the great morning!

The best value for money anywhere. My guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We did a beach tour, saw dolphins and whales, heard about the history of the area, then went sand boarding. My guide acted as a coach helping me with my technique so I was safe and had a blast.
Everybody was treated as special on our tour.

We were welcomed by our host Ron and we had an absolute blast. Ron is kind, thoughtful, and incredibly warm-hearted person who made our tour very much fun and lovely. The boarding experience on the dunes was undoubtedly cool and the magical view of the beach and texture of the fine sands on your feet were even better.

Went to Anna Bay with the intention to sand board & we did not have any bookings prior! There are a few vendors there, but we opted for "Port Stephens 4WD tours" as they had a front desk - and looked the most legitimate 😂.

The friendly staff was able to make slots for us for a 30 mins session and the tour started with a ride into the sand dunes, to the designated sliding area. Everyone was handed a sand board, and you could choose which slope you want to slide down. In my opinion, 30 mins is more than enough time! You can sand board 4 times up and down the highest slope (which we did), and you'd probably be tired by then.

After 30 mins, our tour guide brought us to the beach and we had time to dip our toes into the cold waters - so refreshing after a hot day out in the sands!

Ps! You will need to remove your shoes while sand boarding, and you can also get 10% off by booking online (scan the QR code) at the counter!

It was such a great experience for the whole family from 3-yo to 60-yo. We all tried the sand boarding and it's so much fun. The beach is just so pleasant in April weather. I would recommend this to everyone!

Book online, about 3 hrs drive from Sydney. These tours generally take you for a quick stop at the beach and then head out to the sand dunes. It’s great activity and moderate in terms of fitness required so most of us can enjoy. Take a board up the hill and slide down it’s fun! Make sure you take a hat, slap ap on a lot of sunscreen and keep hydrated.

We had an unreal time yesterday doing the sand dune and pipi finding walk along the beach. I want to particularly give Bob a shout out! He was informative and so great with the kids. It was raining and didn't phase any of us... Although we should have brought a towel and change of clothes for after. Staff were super accommodating - well done.

We had a great experience. Very polite staff, especially Mark and the tour guide Blain, who has tremendous knowledge of the area. We are lucky that we got a chance to do this tour. It was a fun day out. If you are visiting Port Stephens area this tour is worth it. 👍

We had the Sandboarding experience on Dec 23 2023 at 12.30PM and everyone absolutely loved it! The staff were very friendly that we reported to them at 12.30 and asked them to start our boarding 30 minutes later(we wanted to freshen up as we had just arrived there) and they were very cool with that. Another tent to have fulfilling rest for few minutes under the shade at the sandboarding location would be great.

Visit them for best sand dune experience. When I visited in July 2023 they had the best sand dune slide. Also they cover Birubi Beach as well. Other amazing stuff was driver sharing about history for sand dunes. My father was so happy that he took a picture with one of the staff.

Must do when you visit Port Stephens. I booked the package via Klook. Package includes a drive on the sand onboard their 4WD vehicle, a stop at the Birubi beach to find the local pipis. After that comes the most exciting part. Sandboarding! You get to choose the short or long slope, both safe for kids and adults alike. Our guide Frank shared great knowledge about the location and also helped to take cool photos. Go ahead and try this activity and leave with awesome memories!

Had the most amazing experince here today. Mick and Ray were incredibly accomodating of our group which included a person with a disability, they did everything they could to ensure the tour was engaging and catered to the needs of everyone in the group. Will be singing the praises of this company to absolutely everyone who will listen, and have already planned another time to visit again. Thank you!!

Booked online the day before. Got really lucky with the car park as a space became available as we drove round. Leave plenty of time to park.
The 4WD bus is air conditioned and a fun ride to the sand surfing slope. We were told it's best to have bare feet. This was ok but in places the sand was burning. The surfing is fun and I managed 5 runs. I could have done more but it was too hot. Short wait for the bus back. Staff great. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
