Mine Hill Lookout

It felt like staring directly into history. Reading about the mines and taking in its remnants, viewing down at the serene Captain's Flat - what once was probably a bustling busy town, now tucked away quietly between the hills, the number of person's visible counted on a single hand.
Maybe it was just me, but for a few seconds, standing on the lookout and combined with the quietness, I could imagine the ghosts of the past, miners and families out and about, fulfilling their daily duties in a new and strange land they had just arrived to.
I wish the town of Captain's Flat success.

Good to see the old mine workings a look out ova the town the have a photo there of how the village looked in the '30s

very nice and informative lookout. you can see many of the old equipment used when the mine was active. definitely worth a visit
