Lovely little free camp beside the Mary River.
Could do with a bit of a mow but otherwise well maintained with a BBQ, table and seats and an undercover area.
Not many flat spots and space is limited.
The set up means you can drive in and out easily if no availability.

Review 2 (late 2020): put the kayak in and went down the river solo for an overnight trip. It was an adventure. A couple times passed by tinnies and ski boats but overall a quiet relaxing paddle. Managed to see a platypus in the early morning and several lung fish popping up for air.

Review 1 (early 2020): [3 stars] Water is too low for boating and we kayaked but got mud everywhere.

Great free campsite with toilets, boat ramp and grassy sites with shade. Bins are provided and there is a covered picnic area. Campsites are a bit unlevel and getting enough solar can be a problem because of the shade from tall trees. Right next to the river for boats and kayaks and they are catching Dhu fish and Barramundi there. Lovely place to spend 48 hours with a nice 20min walk to a really nice old historic hotel for a cold beer or 2 and great food.

You can park your van here overnight. Has toilet facilities, but no drinking water. Not busy when we were there. Great boat ramp too.

Amazing camping ground! If you arrive early enough (we arrived a little bit before 5pm), you'll most likely be able to get the spot right next to the river. As a result, we had an amazing evening and morning with a great view. The toilets are well maintained and cleaned up in the morning! There's a BBQ area on top of that, and no mosquito showed up. Very good experience overall.

Great spot for a picnic or overnight. Toilet and BBQs in the day use area. Steep entry/exit to the overnight area. Not good for really big rigs. Quiet and peaceful. Boat ramp but no swimming due to crocs.

Great camp just out of town, so much nicer then free overnite park in Tiaro.

Great spot north of Tiaro. Camping available for 48hrs with toilets, bbq, picnic table, non potable water and boat ramp with trailer parking. Highly recommended over free campground in town!

Quick overnight stay, but would definitely come back. So clean and tidy. Great little stop by the Mary river. And Tiaro is becoming my 'must do' place to stop on the way to Rocky.

Was a great place to stop for a couple of nights. It gets busy. Rest rooms dated and fairly clean. Lots of bird life. They were measuring up for some renovations when we were there

Really nice camp. It's near the river Mary. Small area. Has toilets. Bring mozzie spray. Overall great free camp.

Just a beautiful piece of fresh water to swim jetski or boating tubing or skiing.

Campground overnight stop next to the river, boat ramp, crocs sign, toilet, non drinkable water, not much flat room on the grass.

No Koala's but AWESOME spot for caravans, campervans and just chillin! Relax right ontop of the Mary River. More BBQ would be handy and some greater LOCAL knowledge for sightseers.

Great place for a rest stop. Electric BBQ and tables/chairs and shelter area and Toilets, beautifully maintained! Gorgeous views of the mighty Mary River aswell!

Great, quiet little spot by the river

Free camping, is always good, toilets and fresh water tap, boat ramp, bbq area, beautiful little spot just off the highway north of Tiaro 💕

Really great place to stay either overnight or for a while. Toilets are clean and it has an electric bbq.
