Franks' Breakaway Farmstay

I’ve been coming here for nearly 15 years and it’s my favourite place to unwind. The walking and hiking trails are great and golden perch can be caught from the river ( Cudgegong) that runs through the property. Dunn’s Swamp is a short drive away and great for kayaking . I’ve had some amazing wildlife encounters too . What makes this place even more special are the people who run it. Jenny , her daughter Cheryl and husband Michael are the friendliest hosts you’ll meet anywhere and more than happy to pass on any local knowledge. The wood house is great for families and larger groups , the rock house is good for smaller families or a couple. There are also two very good campsites with facilities. Accomodation is modest , comfortable beds and fully self contained as well as great value for money in a beautiful setting. What more could you want ?

We loved staying here! Amazing to have so much space, beauty and utter tranquillity to yourselves. We stayed at the campsite which is our favourite in two solid months of travel. Great location, views, walks and as said before the hosts are amazing! So genuine, interesting, passionate about their farm, the land, their animals and the wider community and environment. My partner and I started with Jenny in November 2019. We felt very cared for and enjoyed every moment in this fantastic historic property. Walks up the Coricudgy River, nights reclining on the many couches and having a yarn about the site and landscape and river with Jenny and her daughter who was visiting at the time - we highly recommend!

We've stayed in the Rockhouse and had the best experience. What a beautiful and tranquil setting. Great for hiking and bird watching. The kids had an amazing time feeding the sheep and chooks. We felt very well looked after. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Good value, rustic old shack feel with an amazing collection of old refridgerators 😀 and an amazing outlook.
