My partner and I had a great 3-day away in Jenolan cave house and explored 3 caves in total during our stay, the cave tour guide, Steve is so passionate about what he is doing and seems to be enjoying the tour as much as all the tourists, and he took some time to take photos for all the tourists individually.

The food is absolutely beyond amazing!
The staff are so friendly!

We will definitely coming back again!
Highly recommended this place! 👍👍👍👍👍

We were told in advance that the House is "a bit run down" these days, and I think that's a very unfair assessment. I was utterly charmed by every aspect of the House and its surroundings. We were informed by staff at one point that they will be closing soon for renovations and repairs caused by the fires and floods in recent years (particularly to the main road under the Grand Arch), but for a historical property, everything was pretty amazing and in very good nick.

Because it's a historical property, it does have its quirks. The walls are a bit thin, and there's some creaky floorboards in the hall, and peeling paint here and there. However, I would've been very disappointed to find the building too modernised, or for the antique furniture and styling to have been replaced with current trends. You also can't turn a corner without finding a public toilet if you ever need one! All the different photographs and antiques around the property also get your imagination going as you read the different placards around the property, detailing the lives of the colonial settlers who came to live in the valley.

The beds in the rooms were clean, incredibly comfortable, and fitted out with electric blankets for the chilly mountain evenings. Housekeeping was discreet and tidied without disturbing any of our possessions. We had dinner and breakfast twice in the dining room, and every meal was great. Dinner in particular was wonderful, with live piano music and excellent wine and food options. Every member of staff was friendly and quick to offer assistance when required.

Finally, the walking tracks around the caves and house were wonderful. There were magnificent views at every angle, and so many wallabies around the hills whenever we went for a walk. I will definitely be back for another stay when renovations are completed!

A 3 day family gathering at a treasured spot visited several times over many many years. The staff are doing a magnificent job keeping the wheels oiled and access available whilst the house and environs await a major renovation following a trio of disasters in recent years - bushfires/floods/covid. Access is even more adventurous at the moment, requiring a vehicle escort down the mountain and a minibus trip from the car park. They carry out these additional support tasks cheerfully and seamlessly and whilst there are some limitations on walking tracks at the moment the overall experience remains one of complete relaxation and enjoyment. A special shout out to the multi-talented bar and dining room staff including the chef who delivers a great choice of really flavoursome meals.

My recent visit to the Jenolan Cave House was nothing short of enchanting, offering a mesmerizing glimpse into the subterranean wonders that lie beneath the Blue Mountains. From the moment I arrived at this historic establishment, I was captivated by the unique blend of natural beauty and old-world charm.

The setting itself is breathtaking, with the Jenolan Caves nestled within a picturesque valley. The Cave House, a heritage-listed lodge, is beautifully maintained and exudes a rustic elegance that transports visitors to a bygone era. The friendly staff at the reception were welcoming and eager to provide information about the cave tours and the history of the area.

The highlight of the visit, of course, was the cave tour. I opted for the Lucas Cave tour, which promised an awe-inspiring journey through intricate limestone formations, underground rivers, and expansive chambers. Our guide was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about the caves, and their insights added depth to the experience.

As we ventured deeper into the cave, I was mesmerized by the stunning formations – from delicate stalactites and stalagmites to grand chambers adorned with intricate patterns. The play of light and shadow created an otherworldly atmosphere that felt like stepping into a fairy tale. The guide's explanations about the geological processes that shaped these formations added a layer of education to the adventure.

The tour was well-paced, allowing us ample time to take in the beauty around us and capture the moments through photos. The underground river and the breathtaking formations left me in awe of the natural wonders hidden beneath the surface.

After the tour, I enjoyed a delicious meal at the Chisolm's Restaurant within the Cave House. The ambiance was cozy, and the food was both satisfying and flavorful – a perfect way to reflect on the incredible experience I had just had.

Visiting the Jenolan Cave House and exploring the caves is an experience that combines nature's splendor with a touch of history and wonder. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, an adventurer, or simply seeking a unique escape from the ordinary, Jenolan Cave House offers a one-of-a-kind journey that will leave you with lasting memories of the hidden treasures beneath the Blue Mountains.

Orient Cave. Vast caverns of ornate crystal formations. Excellent guide with a genuine passion for the caves. Worth the long drive.

We recently stayed at the lodge for Yulefest. The newly renovated lodge accommodation is absolutely fantastic. While we had a couple of hiccups during our stay, the staff especially Nerris and Amber made it a 10 star experience. Unfortunately we only had one night there but we will be back. While the main house (hotel) is old and in need of some love and care, it is a heritage listed site and one can spend hours imagining what it was like in the 1800’s and walking along the corridors looking for another fireplace to sit next to. We were lucky enough to have a cave tour included in our stay and our guide Jamie was brilliant. The drive down is not for the feint of heart but it is spectacular. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

We stayed here with some friends and had a great weekend. The staff are amazing, they're all so friendly and really do make the place what it is. The dinner and breakfast was really nice, nothing to complain about there. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The tours are all still amazing and we're already planning another trip in the future. Thanks!

My husband took me here for my birthday as a surprise trip. It was so beautiful that I felt like I stepped into a story book! The staff were so lovely during our stay and really genuine and personable. The cave tours were so awesome and the guides were so friendly, fun and knowledgeable. On our last night for dinner the staff came out with dessert and sparklers and sung me happy birthday! It was very sweet! Would stay there again.

A benign version of the Overlook Hotel from Kubrick's "The Shining". The rooms are ascetic but comfortable, and the staff are accommodating and personable. There are wonderful hiking and exploring opportunities in the surrounding area, as well as the caves themselves.

Although The Hotel is very dated is has a Cluedo, How to Host a Murder feel. The Caves are world class, the guides are brilliant but the energy is magnificent...if AWE is your adrenalin then Jenolan Caves is the fix your must have. Brilliant.

We stayed one night at the Jenolan Caves House. It was great to discover the history about the house. It's a heritage listed hotel, and was built over 140 years ago. Check out the Wikipedia page for more info. We were concerned that the cleanliness might be an issue due to the building being too old, but it was very clean. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Our booking included dinner and buffet breakfast. They were both great. In general it was very pleasing stay and good value for money. I will definitely come back and stay longer next time.

Couldn’t recommend this place enough. The staff were super accommodating.

We accidentally overlooked cave tours needing to be pre booked until a week out from our stay.
When my partner realised and tried to book online, every tour was completely booked. He contacted the bookings office, advising we were staying in the hotel. The staff did their absolute best to get us on three tours over the three days we stayed. We are super thankful for how they handled our mistake. We had a problem and they fixed it! But honestly, even if it wasn’t possible the walking tracks and the beautiful hotel make this stay worthwhile on its own.

It’s serene, genuinely peaceful, complete with little lounges and a bar to sit and ponder your thoughts. If your like us and want to slow down and escape the crazy. This place is something seriously special.

The food was better then I expected. We booked with breakfast and a 2 course dinner included. I’d highly recommend this package as there is nothing else close buy. The menu was good and the desert was absolutely divine. The wine selection was good too. I had a lovely Pinot noir on the first night.

The room was clean and inviting with a super comfy bed. The hot water was super hot and our room had a bath too. We stayed in the main building, it’s very heritage and stylish.

As previously noted in reviews the carpet was very warn and tired ( in our room only). I did not notice this anywhere else in the hotel. Our room did not have a TV, I did not see this a negative at all. This is to be expected with the age of the building and actually adds to the charm. The bathroom was made of marble and very clean. The main dining area was beautiful with all its heritage elegance, complete with a fire place still in use.

We walked some trails and I thoroughly enjoyed them, I wish I had time to do them all. The views were spectacular. I will absolutely stay here again.

We walked the Lucas and Chifley Caves on the first days here. The guides Anita and Scott were very knowledgeable and humorous. They allowed time to really take in the experience, I did not feel rushed at all. It’s worth noting I’m that irritating person that dawdles at the back of the group! They made the experience that big extra.

The staff, the food, the tour guide, the atmosphere, it was a fabulously relaxing time. The decor is dated but it adds to the old world charm of yesteryear. The bed was very comfortable and contemporary. Highly recommend the experience.

A wonderful Saturday day night stay at Jenolan Caves House. Our experience with all the staff on site was amazing. A huge shout out to Maree (Restaurant Mgr) and her team for really knowing the meaning of customer service and experience. We couldn’t fault the service and the quality of meals at dinner and breakfast was 5 star. Repeat business will continue if you continue with these high standards. We will highly recommend to friends and family 😊

Stayed overnight in the beautiful Victorian house. Old world charm. Formal dining room added to the atmosphere. Meals including breakfast were excellent and the size of the sticky date pudding dessert was impressive! Very comfortable bed and warm rooms. No TV or phone network reception but you know what? It made for beautiful quietness and a sound sleep. We loved it. Would stay there again. Beautiful surrounds and right next to the caves. It was not that expensive either. Go and experience it.
