Great rest stop. A little further down the road is Coolah where you'll find the Black Stump Hotel. Lovely town with a great local art and crafts gallery called Pandoras.

Who doesn’t need to at least visit the black stump once. Disappointingly, the drive through the back country on thin tarred windy country roads to arrive at this place in the valley, I could sense would have been great during the day. Some pretty high winding hills. Will hopefully go through there again sometime. THE biggest toilet block and seperate room I’ve seen, not sure why so big for just a quiet rest area off the road but splendidly dead quiet in the night for a terrific sleep after long travelling through the night. No photos but it’s just a black old burnt stump though not the original as the read up sign stated.

Toilets were very clean. The History of the Black Stump is displayed on a sign and replacement stump displayed as the original was lost in a fire. There is a BBQ and picnic tables with nice views. We visited there on our return trip on holidays and now we can tell our friends we wend "Beyond the Black Stump".

So pleased to find clean public toilets on the road. Also plenty of seating for a quick cup of tea.
