Had such a lovely time here, spending 2 nights camping and taking the one hour camel ride. A very relaxed atmosphere. We loved walking around the farm and seeing all the animals (a variety of chickens, ducks, pigs, water buffalo, alpacas, goats, emu, and more!). If planning to camp be aware that the emu and water buffalo are not shy and will drop by to say hello! During the camel tour Petah took loads of photos and videos. Highly recommended! I think it's worth mentioning that the farm also houses a very cool replica of the compound from Mad Max 2 that I loved camping behind.

We stayed at Silverton Camels in the camp area. We went for a camel ride and the kids absolutely loved getting to stay on the farm with all the different animals. Petah and her staff were all super friendly and knowledgeable and happy to answer a hundred questions from my 4 year old.
Thanks for having us!

This was seriously good and the most relaxed camel ride ever! A 90year old would enjoy this! Put it on your bucket list! It's my favourite thing to do now in the BH and Silverton area. Peta is an amazing lady who has the biggest heart.. You can see how much she cares about her farm animals
and cares about the camels whom she adores. I fell in love with Harold and can't wait to come back and see him, her and do it all over again.

Loved loved loved this. My boyfriend and I stayed here in our camper-van. Great experience, loved to get up close to all the animals and be able to roam as we pleased. Awesome spot and wished we could have stayed an extra day to soak it up. Great value for money

Our experience with Silverton Outback Camels was amazing!

We visited in Jan uary 2023, after a day's delay due to some extreme weather. We arrived at 7pm, and mounted up on the camel train - my wife and I were not directly together, but the train was not too long, and we could call to each other.

During the walk, we learned all about camels, and took in the serene beauty of Silverton at sunset. We walked across the back of the property, into the main street to an open section where the sunset views were the best. After watching the sunset at 8:20pm, we then made our way back in the twilight and were back before the light was gone.

We absolutely loved our time there, and Petah took plenty of photos of everyone to share with us!

If you're visiting Broken Hill, I 100% recommend taking the time to head out to Silverton for this experience, it's unmissable.

Our crazy crew of eight are all about making memories, and our stay at Silverton Outback Camels did just that. The kids are still raving about Terminator ToTo and Licorice the baby lamb. The Warrigal Cottage was clean, comfortable, and even had some creature comforts we didn't expect. We felt welcomed by everyone at the farm and can't wait to book another stay. Only, next time, our booking will include a sunset tour on those incredible camels!

The one hour camel ride was awesome! We did many camel rides in Silverton growing up and great to now bring the kids back to do the same. The 6 & 7 year olds loved it and want to come back for the overnight trek! Petah is lovely and a real inspiration. And the camels are so chilled and relaxing to ride! The other animals on the farm are also real characters. Cute and cheeky. And the setting is spectacular. Highly recommend for everyone, especially city kids. We’ll definitely be back!

Can't get a better place to feel at ease, welcome and one with the animals out there. Petah is one strong woman who is amazing at what she does. 10/10

Such an incredible experience. Really takes you back and makes you feel the appreciation as to what these animals did back in the day. Great authentic way to see the local scenery and be educated by some of the towns history and botanical wildlife. Petah and Duncan really are lovely operators of this experience. I also enjoyed spending time with their other animals at the end of the tour.

Firstly I need to apologise for taking so long before I post a review. Trust me it’s not been for the lack of trying. I returned back to England almost 2 months ago and I’m still highly impressed by the wonderful service of Petah and Duncan.
The first time I visited their place I arrived, unannounced, without a booking and was met with greetings usually reserved for old friends and family. They were already busy with a tour underway but they graciously made time for me giving clear instructions which were easy to follow.
They went above and beyond, with incredible inclusivity for me and the many people I’ve returned with, (friends from various walks of life, some with SEN) on subsequent visits. You can expect trampolining with the goats, getting hugs from deer to stupendous camel rides with Duncan’s entertainment throughout. In my humble opinion it’s truly criminal to come anywhere near without visiting. Such is the quality. I can not wait to return to see how they expand and wish those involved at Silverton Outback all the best.

Did the sunset camel tour whilst on a work trip to Broken Hill. The camel tour is a MUST DO for anyone travelling in the region. Duncan, Petah and Echo (the Dingo-cross) are such a friendly, welcoming and informative team. A wonderful experience in a magical setting - highly recommended!

Excellent outing. Petah's has excellent local knowledge and is a fantastic Aussie outback host. Sunset walk is the most popular so book early.

We booked a sunset camel ride at this place and it was great. Really friendly people, knowledgeable about the area and their camels. The night we visited there was a storm coming but it ended up going around us. Along with the views of Silvertop and surrounds, we have a great sunset to admire plus lightning flashes coming from both sides of us. We finished off with a dust storm which just enhanced the whole outback experience! Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our experience at the Silverton Camel Farm! We came for a camel ride and were warmly welcomed by Petah and Duncan. Both of them were so attentive and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about their camels and the history of the farm. I had shoulder surgery not long ago and was a little worried about the ride. Petah picked the most gentle camel for me, and Duncan checked on me while we were riding to ensure everything was okay with me.

The whole riding experience was terrific. Kids 11,13,14 all loved it and wanted to come back again! So we didn’t wait long. After visiting surrounding national parks and Menindee Lake, we returned a few days later to camp here for a couple of nights. Kids love the animals, geese, chooks, emus, ostriches, donkeys, sheep, deer, pony, pigs, alpacas, cats and dogs. You name it, and they have it. All the animals are well looked after and cared for. Kids had plenty hands on experiences of living on a real farm. Bottle feeding 8 baby goats, feeding ostriches, walking 10 dogs at once and helped put the cheeky donkeys back to their pan.

Very unique, fun stays, and highly recommended. I would give it 10 stars if I could. A must do and stay if you have the time for the full experience.

Fantastic experience made all the more so by the excellent hosts. Great for the whole family. The camels were clearly very well looked after and well trained. My kids felt like stars riding down the main street past the Silverton Hotel with dozens of tourists taking photos :)

Petah and Duncan are absolute legends.

They care for their animals more than any other tour provider I have come in contact with.

The list is too long to mention, here were se of my highlights

They have an emu which runs around their property and loves a little cuddle.

Their dingo cross, echo, loves to join the camel tours

The camels all have amazing personalities and all seem so well looked after. When you are in a line, the one behind you will often come in for a little scratch or a nuzzle!

Petah and Duncan came with us and we're super knowledgeable, had a great yarn with us and just generally made us feel at home and that we weren't any trouble, a bit of a rare but so important quality in hospitality.

I will definitely be recommending these guys to anyone who will lend an ear...

And I'll be back!
