The Ghan Kebab House

We’ve been visiting the place many times especially if we have special occasion. As usual, The Ghan delivers always the best kebab and nothing can beat it. Price suits to its quality, quantity, taste and presentation. Staffs are customer friendly. Definitely will keep on coming back. Highly recommend it.

There were three of us in this very popular restaurant. We scanned the menu and ordered three main course dishes and two teas with cardamom. As it was busy there was a bit of a wait but it gave us a chance to check out the decor and paintings.
Our food was delicious and not too spicy, chili-wise, and the service exemplary by three young people in a beautiful uniform, and all of this for less than $90. Wow!

Great kebab options. The meat was well marinated and super flavourful. We even ordered pickup a couple of times. Highly recommend the kebabs.

I have been disappointed so many times by the usual non vegetarian restaurants trying to serve vegetarian dishes that before being here I actually lost hope of sharing the same eating space with my non vegetarian friends. Yet, I am really happy with their food, menu, atmosphere, staff and prices that would love to go back soon! I tried their fried eggplant dish and it was so good that they can beat some of the vegetarian restaurants very easily.

Fantastic experience. 😊 😊 ❤ 💜 Love the lamb leg, very tender and zesty. The chicken curry and kebabs are well presented and cooked. Love the vibes here. Very exotic and fresh. Seats are not too crowded with each other and you can enjoy your own solitude. The waiter boy is attentive and observant. He noticed us finish our meal and brought us milk teas (they having milk teas after not with the meal). Home cooked milk tea, taste very interesting. Overall, nice adventure this time.

So delicious food 😋never had such a juicy and tasty chicken tikka anywhere I would definitely recommend this . Ambience was good and it’s kids friendly . Parking are not easily available but you can manage to park your car near by . There were few vegetarian options not many though because it’s famous for kebabs 😋if you are a tikka lover then do visit this place and enjoy the delicious food

This place is simply the best. Their food and service is outstanding. Cooked to perfection. Always leave as full as… the best food without doubt and best service.

Ordered the Tikka Lamb and Shami Lamb kebab, both tasty and juicy

The fresh bread was also fantastic

* It's a very good idea to tell the customers to order at the counter whenever they are ready, it could be a bit confusing as you might wait for the waiter/waitress to come to the table and take your order 😉

Parking:There's some parking space right in front of the kebab house, but there's more in the back.

Overall, happy with the place and its friendly staff.

This is my first time trying Afghan food, I didn’t really Know what to expect, I thought it would be more middle eastern, however I had the half
Chicken and it’s very similar to tandoori chicken. It was very moist, It came with bread or rice, I choose bread it had two sauces a chilli sauce and a garlic sauce. Which had no taste of
Garlic it was yoghurt an a side salad, I asked for a small serving of hummus,
The restaurant was so loud I asked if I could sit in the dessert section, the food was nice would like to try other stuff. I then got this dessert drink it was nice.

Value wise for the quality you are getting... exceptional.
The meats both chicken and lamb are juicy, tender and a good serving
I will mention a lack in that charcoal taste you would get at other establishments.

Overall worthy of a visit. Grab the chicken tika with some lamb kebabs and you are good to go.

I came here during the lunch, so it wasn't very busy. Their service really good and I didn't wait for long time to get my meal served. I really love their Chicken Biryani Rice ( the herbs in rice was really really tasty) comes with yogurt, salad and sweet sauce. I also ordered Lamb Kebab 😍. They have new chairs and tables.
I will definitely come back to try other menu.

The Mantoo here are better than what my friend’s mum makes - don’t tell her that! Friendly service, generous food portions and delicious food. It was a great lunch and all of the plates were wiped clean. Highly recommend if you’re in the area

Had dinner here & went for my usual goat curry. Awesome meal & it didn't disappoint. Great value & service. It's one of must go to places when we go to Adelaide.

I was surprised to see that the table next to us was the current premier of South Australia with another government official enjoying their meal.

This Restaurant/Cafe style of Middle Eastern(Afghan) cuisine in Prospect Road called “The Ghan Kebab House” was visited. The food ordered were Lamb Curry with Bread & Salad, the other one was Lamb Tikka with Rice & Salad. All I can remember is “AMAZINE”. Tendered meat texture, well seasoned, perfect balanced favour. The curry sauce is so rich and intensely well cooked. Tendered but not falling apart.
The decor is classy. The warmth of the environment is welcoming. The cleanliness of the surrounding that makes me feel like I don’t want to go home. The friendliness of the staff and host were smiling with dedication. The price is average around $20/dish. Perfect!
