So much more than we expected. From the delightful welcome by Kylie and chat during dinner, to the farm fresh paddock to plate to the Spicy Chicken meal that the King of Heat in our family loves - this was SO worth the drive! Fresh, modern Chinese food and a great dinner for granny and the picky teen! We will be back! And Belle the Bot was just a little unexpected element for us!

We have been to many Chinese restaurants but this was by far the best. Kylie, who was working at front of house, was always cheery, offered great recommendations, and created a wonderful atmosphere. She was clearly very passionate about the restaurant and the food being served. Bella the robot waitress made everyone smile whenever she came out.

We ordered the Mongolian Beef, T's Lamb, Chinese Barbecue Pork, Gong Bao Chicken, steamed rice, fried rice and deep fried ice cream with passionfruit coulis. We also got some home made chilli oil which was divine (so much so, we ended up buying two jars to take home).

Alex the chef is to be commended. Each dish was cooked to perfection and the flavours were exquisite. All dishes are cooked to order and this is very evident - you can taste the freshness of the produce.

The restaurant itself was spotless, well decorated and in a convenient location in the heart of Sheffield. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the produce and very high standard of the food.

If this restaurant were not a plane trip away, we would certainly be regulars. If you are in the vicinity of Sheffield (or even if you're not - it's worth the drive!), visit T's Chinese. You will be missing out if you don't!

Came into Sheffield on a Tuesday evening with not too many options open for service. T’s ticked all the boxes for a quick, tasty and succulent Chinese meal. Chilli Chicken was our favorite. Thanks!

Friendly staff, too. I forgot to take picture of the menu and food …. Also Sheffield is a beautiful town with a lot of beautiful murals …

On holidays from Sydney we found this beautiful Chinese restaurant. It was a great experience trying real fresh Chinese food. Advertising paddock to plate I didn’t know what to expect. But you could really notice how fresh all the food was it melted in your mouth. The Atmosphere was great. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations. Couldn’t fault this place and will return again on the next trip

After two dine-ins and one takeaway experience, I can honestly say we've never been disappointed. Cheerful friendly service, knowledgeable and capable of modifying dishes for dietary limitations as well as taste ("we can cut down on the chilli if you like"). Just be warned, it can get busy (another indicator of how good the food is!), so it's advisable to book early and be patient. Check out the gorgeous wall murals while you're waiting.

The food here is delicious. A bit too good...I think we got takeaway every week for the first 3 months we lived in Sheffield. Dining in is a lot of fun and all our visitors get taken here. I can't eat overly salted foods and certainly not MSG, so am wary of Chinese food places but Ts has just been good wholesome food with fresh ingredients everytime.

A true paddock to plate experience!
This family produces there own produce on their local farm and then uses it in their restaurant to create excellent meals that are top quality! Large portions, happy service and absolutely delicious! It’s our “go to” whenever we’re celebrating. It’s a truly unique experience being able to meet the farmer and chef all in one lovely evening of great food and friendly faces. Recommend!

We had a lovely dinner on Friday 31.03.23, human service was very friendly and also quirky with Bella the robot. Meals were very nice and catered well for my vegetarian wife and me as a meat eater. Highly recommend

Delicious honest authentic northern chinese cuisine can only be found here at T’s in Sheffield. The staff are warm and welcoming, it’s like going home 😜
You will find only the best and freshest produce here with a paddock to plate concept, harvesting and growing their own meats and vegetables.

Highly recommended if you are in town or visiting Tasmania. Do not miss it!

My friends and I enjoyed a beautiful meal here last night. The lady serving us was friendly and attentive, with the unique service of Bella the robot being a welcome addition.
The food was absolutely exceptional. The dishes were full of flavour and you could truly taste the difference of meat that had been reared in their own farm!
I left the restaurant feeling fully satisfied having eaten a fresh, healthy meal. I would recommend this to anyone passing through Sheffield!

If you're expecting the usual Cantonese/Szechuan/Beijing fare that is the staple of most Australian Chinese restaurants then I'm afraid you may be disappointed - unless you keep an open mind and are open to other Chinese cuisines. The owners of T's hail from Xinjiang in China's far west, bordering Tibet, Pakistan, Russia and Mongolia, Afghanistan and a few more 'stans into the bargain. This means the food is strongly influenced by the muslim countries surrounding the province.

In this region, where temperatures can drop to -40C in winter and 40C in summer, warming foods such as lamb & mutton feature strongly. And at T's the food is no exception.

The menu is not extensive, but it's large enough, and the lamb dishes are exceptional. On a very cold, windy and rainy night my wife and I ventured forth for my birthday celebration. We took along our last bottle of Jansz Single Vineyard chardonnay methods champenoise (not allowed to call it champagne any more. Besides, the Jansz is superior to most of the French champers I've had and I've had quite a few of the best!) to wash down the food.

We started with our favourite palate-pleaser, the wonderful pot sticker dumplings. Soft and delicious on the top, crunchy on the bottom, these are sure to please anyone and they certainly pleased us. At 12 to a serving (the food at T's is made to share), this is just the right size to take the edge off the hunger while waiting for the main courses to arrive. The food is cooked fresh to order so expect to wait a while for the mains, so the dumplings - and there are a few different varieties on the menu - fill the hole in the meantime.

The owners have their own farm in the area, and produce their own organic lamb and beef. Pork is bought in from another local producer and is from the Berkshire breed, absolutely delicious. When you have such fine quality produce, you don't have to do much to it, and thankfully this is the case at T's.

We had the Gong Bo lamb as one of our mains and it is just delicious (I know I've used this word a few times now but it aptly describes the food at T's), a blend of different flavours and lifted with medium-hot chilli. Not too hot but just enough to accent the natural flavour of the lamb, which is thinly sliced, wok-seared and, unlike so many Australian Chinese restaurants, isn't padded out with lots of cauliflower, carrots, etc. There are a few veggies to add their flavour to the sauce, but what you get is lamb; beautiful, tender flavoursome lamb.

My wife has a passion for sweet and sour pork and so we chose this for our second main course. While not strictly a Xinjiang dish, the quality of the Berkshire pork makes this without a doubt the best sweet and sour I've ever had, not too sweet; not too sour but just enough to accent the flavour of the pork.

T's has a range of rice and noodle dishes on the menu, but in keeping with the traditional cuisine of the area, we chose a lamb Zhua Fan pilau rice, a dish which shows the Muslim influence in Xinjiang. Not unlike a Pakistani Biryani, small chunks of lamb are cooked with saffron (or turmeric - the owners are not too forthcoming in discussing their recipes, and who can blame them?) rice which makes for a main course in its own right and not simply an accompaniment to other dishes.

Whatever you choose from the menu, you will be delighted with the food. There's a deft hand in the kitchen; the food is not greasy at all but is light and brings out the full flavour the locally sourced produce. I noticed a couple of negative reviews here, mostly related to the service. Yes, it is relaxed and if you're in a hurry to eat and go, then T's is not for you. Good food takes time and all dishes are cooked to order. And expect the food to be different from your usual Chinese restaurant; there aren't too many Xinjiang restaurants around, especially in Tasmania but not in the major mainland cities either.

It’s a truly unique experience having dinner at a Chinese restaurant where the owners have actually raised and grown so much of the produce on their locally owned farm. Don’t go expecting the cheaply-made and frankly monotonous Chinese takeaway we’ve all experienced. Expect amazing restaurant quality food focusing on Chinese cuisine! They’re passionate about what they do and it ultimately shows on the plate! Delicious, brilliantly cooked food paired with friendly service and very minimal wait times. What more could you ask for?! We’d highly recommend it and will definitely be returning!!

Had high expectations, as we were told this place was something special by friends. Expectations were SMASHED. One of the best chinese meals we've had and we only got take away! Had the curry puffs, sweet and sour pork, chilli beef and fried rice. The meat in these dishes was AMAZING. The pork was like butter! Can highly recommend 👌

My first visit, three of us for lunch, the welcome and service most friendly, we had an 84yo with us, place nice and warm. The meals came out as quickly as any restraunt( not slow). We shared four meals, honey chicken, garlic prawns, beef in black bean, Mongolian lamb & rice, the meals were absolutely fantastic, as good if not better than I've had in Melbourne, I'm told later no MSG, that is why good food tastes like this. Thank you and the chef for today. Will return.

The food here is absolutely delicious! I don’t normally like spring rolls but the spring rolls at this restaurant are divine! The robot is a fun little touch to this restaurant and the service was great, if you’re looking for a nice night out I definitely recommend stopping here for a beautiful dinner!
