North West Safaris Tasmania

So lucky to wander into North West Safaris on Sunday when we were out exploring. Couldn't resist having a look in at the bikes. Greg was happy to talk about the bikes and trails. Mind made up e-MTBs reserved and we were back at 9am Mon morning. Rail 9 Trek bikes handle so well and suspension and 29" tyres make for an absolutely fantastic ride. We are both in our early 60's and found the trails fantastic from Sheffield, through Railton to La Trobe. We even had time for a loop at the back of Railton which was so much fun. So great to book a lift back at the end of our journey, this was such a highlight of our Tasmanian holiday. Definitely will be recommending to family and friends.

Took the opportunity to take some of Greg’s eBikes for a spin out to Railton. An experience not to be missed regardless of your skill level. My wife hadn’t ride a bike in 10 years and she manages fine in the green runs. Got a wonderful introduction to Tasmania’s beautiful natural landscapes from a different perspective. Then got picked up so we didn’t have to ride back 😅 highly recommend

Great service! If your after a hire mtb for the day to check out the amazing Wild Mersey Trails this is the place. They also do shuttles if you need to get picked up at the end of the day. I'll be back on my next visit to town

Great little bike shop/rental spot in town. The trails around Sheffield are incredible and an ebike from North West Safaris will get you out there in a matter of minutes.
The store owner, Greg was very friendly and knowledgeable and sorted me out with not only the bike, but also gear, a map of the trail and other little bits of local knowledge. So good that I had to come back later in the week. Cheers!

We had the best day today on the electric mountain bikes we hired from Greg!!! Rode from Sheffield to Latrobe & did a bunch of fun trails along the way. Highly recommend this as a day trip, with a shuttle to pick you up at the end of the day. Brilliant equipment & knowledgeable advice on the area. Thanks so much!

Greg’s service is top notch, he genuinely cares about your experience, and went above and beyond to make sure my experience and that of my mates was perfect. If you’re visiting Tasmania’s north west, a stop at Sheffield for a ride is a must!

Great service. Easy to use website to book bikes. Great bikes, we hired 3 trek bikes for a day and had a blast. Lots of choices for tracks to ride from Sheffield, no need to have a car ride. If you see my other reviews you will note I do not give many 5's. I reserve that for businesses that exceed my expectations.

Excellent hire bikes and great local knowledge of the trails. Bikes in fantastic condition and reasonable prices. Totally recommended.

Good quality, sturdy, electric mountain bikes and well desgined bike paths make for a great trek through terrain around Sheffield, Railton and Latrobe, would definitely do again next time I come to cradle mountain area.

I took the $140 full suspension EMB which handled beautifully the motor gave you the power to get up difficult hills with ease.

Greg will give you a lift back to Sheffield when you are finish.

Pre-Christmas 2021 we had a fantastic day mountain biking on three e-bikes provided by North West Safaris. The three of us (adult + 2 kids aged 15 and 13) like our mountain biking but had never used e-bikes. To get basically brand new top of the range e-bikes for a day at this price was amazing. Greg was also great in getting us up to speed with e-bikes and also explaing the best trails. We took his recommendations adn the trails were fantastic.

Highly recommend this for a day or more. Hoping to get back ourselves.

North West Safaris were able to accommodate us on the day for e-mountain biking, we had a blast despite our limited ability. Greg was very helpful and went above and beyond to ensure that our enjoyment was his first priority.

I managed to crash the bike due to an overestimation of my own skills and damage a part on the bike, the issue was delt with in a professional manner and the repair cost was very reasonable.

Very happy with their service, would definitely recommend.

My boyfriend and I did the 4 hour kayak trip with Greg. We thoroughly enjoyed our day out and definetly recommend doing this if in the area. The owners are very friendly and know the area well. Well worth the money.

Amazing service, high quality bike gear. I got a flat on the trail and Greg came out with a spare tube and bike levers. Absolutely amazing😀😀 Highly recommend them.

Purchased a new 2022 Trek Rail 9 from Greg. On inspection once getting the bike home realised that the cassette had been swapped out with a completely ruined one. Bike was unridable. He then proceeded to tell me he didn't think there was anything wrong with it, knowing full well there was. Also the handle bar's were extremely loose and spun just loading it into my Ute. Issues were resolved in the end.I'd highly recommended purchasing from a more reputable dealer.
