We loved our stay in the 'Lavender Cottage'.
The breakfast hamper was so lovely and the fresh orange juice was a real treat!!
Loved all the dogs on the farm. They smelt us cooking up the breaky and wanted to join us ha ha. 😊😁🥰 I couldn't not get a picture. They so cute.

Location is fantastic and only a couple minutes away from the main street of Bridport. The cottage was clean and had everything you need to cook and clean. It also had a washing machine and dryer.

Thank you Gina for everything and making our stay something special.

Our two-night stay at Platypus Park Country Retreat in Bridport was truly exceptional. The idyllic country atmosphere provided a serene backdrop, making it a perfect escape. The apartment exceeded expectations, offering spacious and comfortable accommodations for five adults and two children. The well-appointed amenities, coupled with the charming surroundings, made our stay truly memorable. Highly recommend for a relaxing family retreat.

What a magical little place to stay. Amazing friendly hosts that go above and beyond. Cosy rooms with everything you need, only minutes from the centre of Bridport but very quiet, private and secluded.
We will definitely be back!

This Retreat was absolutely amazing!
It has beautiful homely rooms, a huge block of land to explore! We went on a big wonder with out 3 children and absolutely loved it!

The little Black Dog Sophie really love my kids and took us to the cows, chickens the little creek, picked a strawberry we went everywhere to play, to see was so calm and gentle with them!

We will most definitely stay here again on our next family trip and highly recommend them to anyone with kids as there is so much to do, and the whole family will remember this trip! 🥰🥰

We stayed 3 nights in the Lavender
Cottage with spa. Such a peaceful, restful, beautiful place to stay. Awesome gardens to stroll around, fire pit area, views over the undulating paddocks and dams. Cows, chickens and ducks have the perfect habitat. Plenty of birds visiting. Resident doggy Sophie made us very welcome and visited us all the time. Gina and Tony were very good hosts. We will definitely book to stay again. Only 2 minutes from Bridport shops, cafes, beaches and eateries. We love the serenity this place offers. Highly recommended. Chaylea and Chris

Clean accommodation, stunningly set on a farm and if you’re lucky the resident dog Sophie will guide you to the dam to visit the local platypus. Friendly hosts.
Top Place ! 👍

A beautiful place for everyone. We had an unforgettable time in the Platypus Park together with Tony and Gina the wonderful owners.
With a lot of commitment and love they take care of the Platypus Park and their guests.
The apartments are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. In the evening you can take a walk across the paddock, watch the lovely sunset and sometimes you can see some platypus in the dam.We definitely recommend this heavenly place.
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

Fantastic cottages on a large acreage on which you are free to roam. Highly recommend the nearby Bridport walking track loop for a cycle or long walk.

The owners' dog is trained to walk alongside you to the river across the grazing fields which is an absolute treat.

The managers of the property, Jo and Ken, where excellent hosts and made us feel welcome. We loved the quiet and the walks along the property's river and managed to see some platypus in their habitat. The room was adequate for our needs. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we will be sure to come again if we are ever in the area.

We had a great stay at the Platypus Park. The place itself is very well located, close to the township of Bridport and near the ocean. It is surrounded by nature and has it's own access to the river. We had spotted platypuses many times on their big farm. Accommodation is very neat, clean and convenient with all the necessary amenities. Situated in a peaceful area. Gina & Tony, the owners, are extremely friendly, generous and hospitable people and Sopie the dog is just adorable. She will definitely show you around. Highly recommended.
Thank you, Dominika & Maciek

Great place to stay. The accommodation was spacious and suited us well. Saw a platypus twice (on different days) down at the creek which was nice. To find the creek, walk down past the dams and follow the fenceline to a gate. Once through the gate and down the steps, the first part of the creek you see is where we saw the platypus.

4 bedraggled, cold and soaking wet motorcyclists made it to Platypus around 4:30pm in the arvo. Gina, our wonderful host, made sure the first thing we did was get dry and warm, as well as ensuring our wet gear was dry for the next day's riding. Given it was still pouring, we were deciding who would draw the short straw and have to mount up to go into town and get food when a smiling Gina appeared telling us she would take us shopping to get provisions we could prepare in our very complete kitchen, and then bring us back. Our experience with Gina and hubby was fantastic and I couldn't recommend the place more highly. The accommodation itself was very nice with comfortable beds, good heating and all household appliances at your disposal - washing machines and tumble dryers also either with the room or in a public space. To top off the generous hospitality, Sophie the dog came to visit us in the morning and she's just wonderful - a very well mannered and quiet pooch who deserved all the attention we gave her. In short, great place - we loved it. Thanks Gina, Hubby and Sophie.

Very comfortable and welcoming accommodation. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Our apartment was wonderful. Very neat, spacious and clean. Only booked for one night after having some unpleasant experiences with other accommodation while travelling around Tasmania. On our next trip down to Tassie, this place will definitely be on our list.

What a great place to stay, we (Tassie Tours and Transfers) transfer our clients to and from the airport to stay here whilst they play at Barnbougle or just holiday in the area and the feedback is always positive. An easy walk into town, the beach and the Bridport walking track. Def recommend this holiday accom venue.

Not actually a caravan site, but kindly allowed @$30 for 1 night power only. MUST be completely self contained. Lovely Sophie the pooch was very sweet as was the manager owner.

In short - in the week since starting at Gina's, I've already recommended it to two other groups of people and will likely continue to do so.

The apartment was comfy and big enough for a group of five adults (although I understand there are smaller places for couples) with doors that opened out onto a lovely big back garden. There's also a gate to a field where the dog, Sophie, takes you for walks. We were lucky enough that Masie and Dash, two of the extended family's dogs were also there and incredibly friendly.

This place is that rare Airbnb combo where you have a lot of space to yourself because you aren't living in someone's spare room, but the family are also on-hand with local tips. As soon as we arrived, Gina and her family welcomed us and already had recommendations for things to do including a carol concert that was happening in the local village green.

That same afternoon, while my brothers and I were playing pool and throwing a football around the perfectly manicured lawn, Tony (the other host) came up to us and invited us to go sea fishing with them the following day on his boat. What little experience I had of fishing told me two things. First - my brothers and I would be frustratingly bad in comparison with someone who goes a lot. Second - you need to get on with the people you're going with. They seemed cool so we took the chance and let me tell you - I'm so glad we did.

We got up early to find Tony and his son-in-law, Jack, had already been up for about an hour prepping the boat. They were as practiced as I expected but didn't seem frustrated at all with our inexperience. We spent about six hours on the boat, touring spots they knew were good for fish - often going just a few minutes between pulling in a fresh one. While we caught barracuda, flathead and some small sharks (all responsibly put back if they didn't meet size requirements), Tony and Jack pulled in a steady stream of squid. Conversation was relaxed and interesting, so the time flew by and Tony and Jack put loads of effort into cutting up fresh bait and making sure we didn't tangle our lines. When we got home they cleaned and cut the fish expertly and gave us a huge plate to cook that evening (the squid and flathead went wonderfully with some asparagus and lemon, we also had snow peas they grew in their garden).

This Airbnb is nicely located - you can walk to the shops or the beach if you'd like. There's also a scenic river walk which takes you from here to the Bridport Cafe (another place I'd recommend, my sister and mum loved it). That said, as with most of Tazzie, it's sensible to have a car.

In the local shops we were able to find everything we needed from dinner ingredients to a beanie hat for my brother.

Thank you Gina and family, I hope many more people have the chance to stay with you.
