The museum is definitely worth your time to stop and visit.
It is surprisingly large and has an extensive collection of items through NSWs history.
Even if museums are not your thing, you should give this museum a visit, you will likely find something that catches your interest.

Absolutely mind boggling amount of historical artefacts from every walk of life. Every face of life and culture throughout the Gulgong region and beyond is captured and brought to life throughout this exhibit. 100% worth the visit, be prepared to spend at least 2 hours and up to a day, it is definitely something you won’t regret. 👍

Passed through Gulgong for only a day however we had word to definitely visit the Pioneers Museum so we did and absolutely loved it. We spent 2.5hrs there and it was just so fascinating and educational. Always love learning more about our heritage. The early settlers who paved the way. They were a strong bunch back then for sure. Highly recommended 👍

From cars to clothes, tools to telephones, gemstones and fossils. This place has something for everyone. You should expect to spend a minimum of 2 hours and up to a day to see the entire collection. An amazing, well curated history of the region. Would definitely recommend going a little out of your way to visit.

This beautifully laid out display of all kinds of stuff from the decades is a credit to the volunteers who run the museum. The ladies on the door both lovely. It's a large thought out display, well maintained and kept.
Well worth the $12 entry fee.

WOW - what a huge collection of items. We wandered around for a couple of hours but you could easy spend more time there.
The volunteers were very helpful too and very reasonable price to get in.
Certainly worth a visit

The museum is under 30 minutes away from Mudgee and worth the trip. This is the most impressive museum we have visited. The site is enormous. The exhibits cover from early Australian settlement to WWII. There’s something for everyone.

Gulgong Pioneers is one of the best historical museum I have been too. They have a large variety of old time pieces on large premises. The volunteers that we spoke to a where very friendly and provided helpful information. If you are passing through Gulgong it is definitely worth a stop. There is alot to see.

Oh my goodness......what a little (or should I say massive) treasure trove this place is. Took the map, looked at the arrows didn't use either, lost my husband and my dad. Mum and I wandered around in absolute awe of the vast and varying collections. If you are near, stop and have a look. We thought this is where we blew our $12 adult admission, but NO, NO we didn't. We were all talking for ages afterwards at all the different things we saw. 10/10

May-22: still amazing, well looked after and the ginger tabby cat is very cute

Jun-20: One of the best regional museums I've been to in Australia. I loved the large collection of rifles and cameras. There was a good display of old phones and computers (which brought back some memories). It was great to see how the land was settled and how people used to live. This museum is worth a drive if you are staying in Mudgee and was the highlight of Gulgong. You could spend about half a day here, but if you only have an hour or two, you can cover things that interest you. Well worth a visit!

The museum spans half a block and was bigger than we expected! It holds lots of interesting relics and insightful history! Can easily get lost wandering in their many buildings and recreations. A definite must visit while in Gulgong 👍

Amazing place. You really need a couple of days to go through all of their exhibits. From phonographs and old radios to farm machinery and complete old shops. You will not be disappointed

One of the best pioneer museums and a must when visiting Gulgong
So many things to see, and reminisce that our parents or grandparents had

It's a great place to take the kids. There are rooms full of things to see that are no longer in use. Typewriters in the early model computers. Kids wouldn't know what a dial up phone is. I would definitely go again there was so much to see.
