Gorgeous intimate hideaway with heaps to do and see and equally good for doing nothing at all - just relaxing in a steaming hot rainwater spa and watching in awe as the local kookaburras and Eastern Rosellas and Wallabies come close enough to check you out eye to eye!
I just wish I'd been able to stay a whole month and not just 3 short days! - Definitely will plan to go back with just another couple for an intimate love-in, BBQ, and watching out for shooting stars while lying back in deck chairs on the big front lawn while sipping a glass of excellent local Shiraz and smoking a cigar.
The warm LED lights everywhere are just amazing too - makes everyone else jealous as they have to drive all the way up to the top of the windy mountain to hit suburbia and lose their privacy and tranquility... Although we did play tennis and a game of pool before sampling the restaurant food which was excellent. Don't tell any but your best and dearest about this treasure or you'll find its booked out forever... I would have paid twice as much for less... it is a luxurious and thoroughly cosy little piece of paradise in the wilderness, and I just love Wallaby Leap - the name says it all. 5 stars are too little for this place. Get in quick and don't tell anyone!
Cheers to my distant cousins who set it up - I'm not saying anything that I wouldn't say anyway... You make me proud to be a Hempel! Even dear Anoushka could learn a thing or two from you guys, and I'm now a fan... Next time I'll bring just my best mate and our ladies, and spoil ourselves rotten... Thankyou so much for the detailed sensorial feast - I will be back for sure, and soon. Don't let anyone wreck it, and make sure smokers bin their butts respectfully - I do and my OCD was aggravated by subtle signs (twist tops and butt-ends! stuck between rocks!) of drunken kids and yahoos who don't deserve to stay in such a treasurable patch of wonderment...
Cheers,
Andy Hempel - I love your work!

Wallaby leap. A place you go to if you want to escape everything. Just you, the bush, and your selection of loved ones!

Rustic cabins set amongst beautiful bushland with great views. Very peaceful and reasonably comfortable. A great escape from city life

DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY:

The owner contacted me less than 48 hours out from the booking date and offered $140 refund in return for us to clean the property ourselves on arrival!!!

I was appalled at the suggestion as you would expect that the property would be cleaned professionally prior to arrival. The property also has a spa (one of the reasons we booked) and would require chemicals etc.

I was shell shocked that the owner would think it was appropriate for me to clean his property on arrival especially in the middle of a pandemic.
I no longer felt comfortable taking my family on this trip and lost all confidence in the host. I requested a refund immediately in light of the situation where the host just stopped responding to me and refused to refund the money of over $800! I engaged Air BnB in the dispute where he also stopped responding to them.
I am still in negotiations with Air BnB regarding this matter.

I would hate for this to happen to anyone else.

Water ran out and host offered two options of a refund or we could pump more water up. Opted for refund as we had had enough, they did not pay agreed amount despite an agreement on amount and time as they thought we used too much water and had a photo. Called me a f#$king winger when I politely asked about refund. We just had showers and normal stuff, no slip n slides. So rude. Paid a lower amount in the end though rudest host ever. Why take photos of water tank instead of pumping water up for guest, I know how much water we used. Bees attacked special need child and he splashed a little water from spa which I topped up though beside that we didn't even drink the water and my son said he showered every second day.
