My family and I had a wonderful time here. We loved being immersed in a beautiful and secluded retreat. The baths were a nice relaxing treat at the end of the day. We were even visited by a pair of wallabies! Maria is a great host and we will certainly be back again soon! Thanks for the wonderful stay.

Had the pleasure of staying at this amazing place for 2 nights. Wow. What more can we say. A fire set and ready to go, outdoor baths a highlight and amazing wild life. The setting is perfect to unwind and recentre. Maria's hospitality and little touches are second to none. Do yourself a favour and book a massage with Ben while you are there, pure magic. So hard to leave and head back to work

My partner and I whist we live in Dorrigo, wanted a get away from the norm! Dorrigo Bush Pepper Retreat was it… who could resist that outside double bath 💙 plus also knowing the host Maria as a lovely local, she also did a great job hosting the beautiful Retreat.

Chillin’ in the swing and hammock, seeing and listening to the wildlife. Getting to see the wild donkeys and blackberry picking on the bush walk to the gorgeous river. Hot baths under the stars and moonlight, kept the water in for a cold bath in the morning while wallabies visited. Such serenity. Peaceful, quiet and still. Cottage had all our needs.

We will stay again, maybe with the kids next time!

Fabulous birthday weekend away. Great place to get away from it all and relax. Loads to explore within surrounding areas. Beautiful countryside, green hillside and lovely farms.
It was devine to lazy in the outdoor hot tubs beside my husband having a beverage and watching the sunset and then inside to lazy by the fireplace. Loved waking up each morning to the abundance of wildlife.
The Lodge was beautifully decorated and provided everything. loved the kitchen!

My partner and I stayed three delightful and relaxing nights at this lodge. The perfect place to switch off and tune in.

Most enjoyable to our stay was the close connection with nature at this off-grid lodge; the location is set less than an hour from several and varied National Parks including magnificent World heritage listed Gondwanan Rainforest. The property itself is beautiful and natural with plenty of bush and a river nearby. There is a well-kept lawn and playground for kids to play and the native plants and a pond brought a chorus of native bird and frog song. As for the dual outside baths – enjoying a hot soak next to your companion with a cool drink under the stars or sunset through the bush canopy is exactly as good as it sounds!

The lodge was well appointed and clean but also personal and homely with an inside fireplace, movies, comfy couches and bed, and a full kitchen including local eggs as fresh as it gets. The Host was communicative but left us in privacy as well – perfect for an uneventful stay.. Unfortunately we had some serious motor issues and here the host Maria and wonderful locals Jen & Kat went above and beyond, employing their local knowledge and network of exceptionally helpful friends to find a way to put us back on the road.

The drive through Deer Vale was like a visit to Hobbit-ville with rolling plains of endless green. Arriving at Bush Pepper Retreat was like coming home for me having grown up in the bush; tall trees, bird song and serenity. Chopped wood was ready for the fire which easily warmed the entire studio. Enjoying a mineral bath under the stars was an absolute delight. Highly recommended for those wishing to enjoy some solitude in a natural landscape with special visits from lorikeets of all colours. My daughter and I stayed 3 beautiful relaxing nights. The accommodation was clean and beautifully presented with a lot of homey touches. The bush setting is magical especially as the mist rolled in as we were in the out door bath tubs. We were so relaxed and at peace during our stay. A very healing and restorative time. I recommend this accommodation and we will definitely return.

Such a beautiful retreat. Perfect for catching up with friends. Centrally located for exploring both the mountains and the coast. Loved the bird life and wallabies, plus the crystal clear creek on the property. Wonderful service from our host Maria.

Absolutely amazing! The surrounds are beautiful, you can really disconnect from it all, yet there are so many beautiful walks and waterfalls within an easy drive. The walk around the property itself is gorgeous too. Maria is lovely and so accommodating, she takes going above and beyond to the next level! Little touches like a bottle of wine and freshly picked flowers made our stay even more enjoyable. Also, her massages are out of this world!!!

We enjoyed the most beautiful stay at The Bush Pepper Retreat recently. We felt special as soon as we arrived, warmly welcomed by our lovely hosts Maria and Jeff. Everything about the cabin was perfect..beautifully designed, comfortable, immaculately clean in a serene and private forest setting with birdlife to wake us in the morning. Plus the freshest eggs and veg produce grown on site. The outdoor bath for star viewing was an added treat which we will always remember. We're definitely putting this stay on our must return list !

Our family of 4 absolutely loved our stay at the Bush Pepper Retreat. Our host Maria and family were very welcoming and it really felt like a home away from home. The location was perfect! So many beautiful bush walks so close by and the town of Dorrigo only a short away, through the most magnificent countryside. The walks from the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre are a must see but the best swimming spot of all was on the Bush Pepper Property itself - absolutely magical! Completely untouched with the clearest of water; and we had it all to ourselves. We loved the place and hope to return soon :)

Bush Pepper Retreat was the perfect getaway for our restorative break. The location was peaceful, and the cottage so cosy, comfortable, and well-equipped. The highlights were many ... from the private and tranquil setting, the crisp fresh air, the wildlife encounters with wallabies and birdlife visiting the property, to the blissful outdoor baths with a bushland backdrop at sunset or at night under the stars, then relaxing evenings in front of the fireplace with the frog chorus outside. Loved it all! The property is well located for local bushwalking and for accessing the many surrounding national parks and amazing waterfalls. Maria was a great host, ensuring we had everything we needed including a welcoming bottle of bubbly and tasty fresh farm eggs for breakfast. I highly recommend a stay at Bush Pepper Retreat, we will be back for sure!

Lovely, secluded, restful stay. Maria was a welcoming host and some nice simple goodies in the fridge on arrival to help our stay. Unfortunately the weather was not kind so we weren't able to explore too much, but there are beautiful walks all around the farm. A toasty wood burner kept us cosy and the kitchenette is appropriately equipped. Lovel stay with plenty of wildlife to watch and enjoy.

Maria's thoughtfully designed retreat is truely lovely. There are wonderfull touches in all the rooms and the place is stylish, luxurious and cosy at the same time. The fire was set up for us with a delicious cheese platter and wine and we really enjoyed the outdoor baths. There are a number of interesting walks around the property and plenty of things for kids. Thanks for our stay, we will be back!

The Perfect Getaway!! I cant highly recommend this place enough! An amazingly designed and beautiful Eco Cottage. The property is on a stunning little stream to cool down in and relax by. The bed was comfy, the cottage had all the utensils needed in the kitchen. On arrival was fresh eggs and a plate of delicious fresh produce along with a bottle of bubbly. 🍾 The host was fantastic and very accommodating with quick responses to emails and is more than happy to meet any requests you have!

Dorrigo Bush Peper Retreat gifted me a transformative experience. I was fortunate to spend four wonderful days immersed in the sounds and aromas of the surrounding bushland, enjoying the walks that explore the vast property that features waterfalls, fields of long grass and a soothing river that is refreshing to cool off in, and which also offers trout if you have the desire to fish and catch your own dinner. The wonderful host Maria is a gem, providing complimentary wine, bread and fresh laid organic eggs for the freshest of breakfasts. The charming and well appointed lodge which sits in the middle of the forest features a calming pond, play area for kids and a double bath that is perfect for enjoying a sunset. And don't forget to try out Maria's cheese platter, it will be the best you've ever had. I'm definitely coming back!

wonderful place to stay with cozy bed warm fire and the best outdoor bath with magnificent views of the magical night sky !
the walk around the property is great and you can go and meditate on the rocks at the creek and if you get up early you will encounter a family of kangaroos outside the lodge and birdlife ....just wonderful!
oh and did i mention the most delicious fresh eggs from the chickens for breakfast ...yummy

Bush Pepper Retreat is a fantastic place to "retreat" to from the hassle of everyday life. Maria has implemented a beautiful lodge in the rainforest climate of Dorrigo. The tranquil atmosphere is stunning and the outdoor baths are to die for and yes we found the wild donkies. Thank you for the bottle of bubbles with the goodies. We will be back.
